INTRODUCTION
No one saw this coming, but here we are….facing an unprecedented, global crisis that
has not discriminated. In an effort to keep our patients and their families safe, we are
complying with the nation’s social distancing guidelines and regulations.
Most unfortunately this leaves many people in need of important mental health resources
and support. While our organization is steadfastly attempting to put some strategies in
place to get creative and provide mental health services at some point soon, we recognize
this is not occurring as soon enough for many our patients.
As such, RHI created this “Coping with COVID-19 Resource Kit.” This Kit includes
information on phone APPS, podcasts, websites, YouTube and Ted Talk Videos, as well
as other helpful information. These resources are divided by topic. It is our hope that this
will serve as an additional source for finding valuable mental health tools during this time
of need.

The Indiana Division of Family Resources operates at least one physical office in every Indiana county and, in order to serve Hoosiers in need, those offices remain open for business. However, in an effort to keep social contact to a minimum and prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), DFR strongly urges Hoosiers to consider submitting applications for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) or health coverage (Medicaid) online. Indiana WIC remains committed to serving families and continuing daily operations during the COVID-19 pandemic. Please be aware WIC local agencies have been given the flexibility to complete WIC appointments over the telephone. These appointments include enrollment, recertification, nutrition education/issuing benefits, breastfeeding support and referrals to other services.
