Training Course Program: You can find information about the program on the billboard that is just to the left of the entrance of the main building and on the plasma display panels.
Transportation: The Academy is just 100 meters from the domestic and international flight terminals of İstanbul Atatürk Airport. Course participants whose accommodation is arranged by the Academy can take advantage of the hotel’s shuttle service. Participants can also take the metro or the buses run by İETT to reach Atatürk Airport and the Academy. (For more detailed information on how to reach the Academy, please visit the section entitled “Atatürk Airport.”)
Lunch: Participants who attend courses in the main building are offered free lunch at the Turkish Airlines Employees Restaurant, which is located behind the Academy building; Those taking courses in the technical training building eat at the restaurant located in that building. Lunch is served between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Course participants can enter these restaurants by signing their names on the course attendee lists located on the tables at the entrances. They can also take advantage of the cafeteria located on the ground floor of the Academy building as well as the vending machines located to the left of the main entrance.

Turkish Aviation Academy was founded to meet the training needs of Turkish Airlines, Turkey’s first airline as well as one of Europe’s leading airlines. It has transformed over
the years into an institution that offers training courses to people from many different companies both in Turkey and abroad. The Academy has been offering training courses for over 30 years. Located at Gate B of Atatürk Airport, Turkish Aviation Academy continues to be one of the leading aviation training centers in Turkey. It utilizes expert trainers and a quality training approach. An average of 25,000 people receive training annually in the 32 classrooms and the 120-person capacity conference hall that are located in the main building and the New Hangar facility.
In addition to its main function of training airline personnel, Turkish Aviation Academy combines years of experience with the latest developments in the aviation industry to
train employees from courier companies, travel agencies, and universities and members of maintenance facilities. The types of trainings offered includes:

Gate B Entry Permit: All course attendees who receive trainings in the technical training classrooms located in the apron must receive a Gate B entry permit. Course attendees who are Turkish citizens but who do not have the required permit must submit a copy of their national ID cards. Foreign nationals must submit a copy of their passports to the Customer Relations Office within seven working days prior to the start of training. Course attendees who will use Gate B throughout the duration of the course are required to present their national ID cards or passports for entry and exit.
Bank and ATMs: There are two Yapı Kredi ATMs. There is one Yapı Kredi ATM on the 3rd floor of the main building and another one on the ground floor of the New Hangar building.
Phone and Internet: There are two pay phones next to the Yapı Kredi ATM located on the 3rd floor of the main building. In addition, there is an Internet kiosk located just to the left of the entrance of the main building. Course attendees can use this kiosk to access their training course program and to check their test results. There is another Internet kiosk in front of the Technical Training Department located in the New Hangar building. Course attendees can access the Internet using the TKGuest connection by obtaining a wireless connection password from the Customer Relations Department.
Course Hours: Unless stated otherwise, courses are held between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on weekdays. While lunch breaks usually start at 12:00, the actual durations of lunch and breaks are determined by the instructors.

Course Attendance Policy: Attendance on the first day is compulsory. 100% attendance is compulsory for courses that last five days or fewer. For courses that last longer than five days, however, 90% attendance is required. Course attendees who fail to comply with the aforementioned attendance requirements waive their right to take exams.
Passing Grade: The passing grade for technical training is 75%. The passing grades for Commercial and Ground Services Training are 70% and 80%, respectively, depending on the specific content of the training courses. Only “Train the Traineer Course” has an exam among Management & Personel Development Trainings and passing grade is 75%.
Healthcare & Ambulance: Course attendees should contact the Customer Relations Office in case of emergencies. Turkish Airlines employees, who are authorized to enter Gate B, can go to the doctor’s office located in front of Gate B while others can go to the Health Department located on the ground floor of the Turkish Airlines’s Headquarters. Information Desk: Course attendees can go to the Information Desk located at the entrance of the Academy building to make inquiries or requests that will be relayed to the relevant unit.

In operation since 1953, Atatürk Airport is Turkey’s busiest airport in terms of passenger traffic. Serving 20 million passengers per year, Atatürk Airport is made up of four terminals such as domestic flights, international flights, cargo flights, and general aviation. Atatürk Airport offers many dining, accommodation, and shopping facilities to its passengers and Turkish Aviation Academy is located next to Gate B of the Airport. Conveniently located within walking distance (100 meters) from the main gate of the airport, the Academy not only allows its trainees to easily board in time for their domestic and international flights, but also provides easy access to public transportation such as the metro, buses, taxis, and ferries.

Atatürk Airport is located 25 km from Taksim, 15 km from Sultanahmet Square, and 32 km from Kadıköy. Metros, buses, ferries, metrobuses, and taxis provide transportation
between the airport and these central locations across the city. Detailed information about departure and arrival areas as well as schedules of various forms of transportation and their fees are provided below. TRANSPORTATION SERVICES FROM ATATÜRK AIRPORT
There are Havataş shuttle buses that run between Atatürk Airport and Taksim between 4:00 a.m. to 1:00 a.m. every 30 minutes. The trip takes an average of 40 minutes and varies depending on traffic. Shuttle buses offer convenient transportation along the Taksim-Aksaray-Coastal Road-Atatürk Airport route. The shuttle bus fee is 10 Turkish Liras. In addition, Havataş offers convenient
transportation from the Yenikapı Ferryboat Dock to Atatürk Airport. There are also shuttle buses that travel along Yenikapı, Aksaray Metro, Cevizlibağ Metrobus, İncirli, and Atatürk Airport. The fee for these shuttles is 5 Turkish Liras. Havataş shuttle buses depart from in front of the arrivals area at the International Flights terminal.

The closest metrobus stations to Atatürk Airport and Turkish Aviation Academy are Yenibosna and Sefaköy, which are located approximately 800 meters away. One can travel to Avcılar or Kadıköy by taking the metrobuses from these stations using the map provided on the opposite page as a guide. Although the fare for a single trip is normally 4 Turkish Liras and a round-trip fare is 7 Turkish Liras, one can purchase an Istanbulkart to take advantage
of the 2.70 Turkish Liras discounted fare. One can reach the Yenibosna metrobus station by taking the personnel shuttle buses that depart from the Academy at 3:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. or by taking the metro from Atatürk Airport.

İETTİETT bus 96T, which runs between Atatürk Airport and Taksim, departs from in front of the arrivals areas of both the Domestic and the International terminals and travels through Yeşilyurt, Ataköy, Bakırköy, Zeytinburnu, Yedikule Coastal Road, Yenikapı, Fatih, Tepebaşı and Tarlabaşı.

Metro
You can reach many locations around Istanbul by taking the metro from the airport. The metro station is located on the ground floor of the International Departure Terminal. Although the metro fare is normally 3 Turkish Liras, you can purchase an Istanbulkart to pay the discounted fare of only 1.95 Turkish Liras.
Istanbulkart is a rechargeable farecard that offers discounted fares. You can purchase one for 10 Turkish Liras at authorized ticket offices. It allows you to save up to between 5-10% on your fares. You can use this card on all forms of public transportation around Istanbul: İETT buses and metrobuses, Seabus, ferries that cross the Bosporus, metros, light-rail systems, trams (including nostalgic trams), commuter trains, and

You can easily recognize Istanbul taxis by their distinctive yellow color. Taxi stands are located in front of the domestic and international flights terminals. Base fare is 2.70 Turkish Liras and the rest is charged based on the distance traveled (1.73 Turkish Liras per kilometer and 27 penny for every 60 seconds of waiting time). Fares may be higher due to traffic congestion or slow traffic.

There are Seabuses that go from Bakırköy and Yenikapı to Kadıköy and Bostancı (Asian side). You can take İETT bus 96-T to get from Atatürk Airport to the fast ferries. In addition, IDO (Istanbul Fast Ferries Co. Inc) offers a special shuttle bus service from Yenibosna to Atatürk Airport.
Those who arrive at Yenikapı via the fast ferries are offered a special one-way bus shuttle service (Idobus Special Shuttle Buses) to Atatürk Airport or to other locations listed below: Shuttle
buses depart from the car drop-off area of the Yenikapı dock. The fare for the shuttle bus service is 5 Turkish Liras for all routes.

Served as the capital of many empires
throughout the centuries, Istanbul is not
only the most populated city in Turkey but also one of the largest
metropolises in the world. Straddling Europe and Asia and distributed
over 5,512 km², Istanbul is the only city in the world that is divided by the sea. With a history going back
2,500 years, this city has always been a commercial and cultural hub throughout the history thanks to its
advantageous geographical location.
The Historical Peninsula, where the most important Ottoman and Byzantine landmarks are located, is a
must-see for all of Istanbul’s visitors. It is also known as the Golden Horn. After visiting cultural landmarks
such as the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, the Basilica Cistern, Topkapı Palace, the Hippodrome, the Kariye
(Chora) Museum, and the Hagia Irene Museum (all of which are located on the
Historical Peninsula), you can take a stroll though the Grand Bazaar, which holds
more than 4,000 shops, and the Spice (Egyptian) Bazaar, which is world-famous
for its spices. As you travel north from the Golden Horn, you will see Galata, a
place that has been one of the most important commercial hubs in the region for
centuries, and Taksim, one of Istanbul’s most cosmopolitan districts. Taksim features
numerous cinemas, theaters, restaurants, pastry shops, art galleries, museums, and
upscale shops. Make sure you catch a view of the Bosphorus, which divides Asia and
Europe and connects the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara. There, you can admire
the incredible views dotted with magnificent palaces and yalis (wooden seafront
mansions).
