Artculaton Pathways from the Qualifcaton Afer achieving TAE40110 Certfcate IV in Training and Assessment, candidates may undertake TAE50211 Diplomaof Training Design and Development, or TAE50310 Diploma of Internatonal Educaton Services or may choose to undertake TAE80113 Graduate Diploma of Adult Language, Literacy and Numeracy Practce.

Student selectonEach applicant will be interviewed to ensure suitability of program for the individual and his/her current positonand/or career path.

Gaining University EntranceA Certfcate IV or Diploma may gain 6-12 months advanced standing in a university degree. Some Advanced Diplomas may be eligible for even more credit. Choosing a GEM College of Internatonal Business to UniversityPathway is a great way to get practcal 'job ready' skills and then gain entry to a university at an advanced stage.

Course Structure

The Course Structure consists of 10 units, 7 Core units and 3 Electve units. At least 2 electve units must be selected from the electve units listed below. One electve unit may be selected from any currently endorsed Training Package or accredited course. Electve units must be relevant to the work outcome, local industryrequirements and the qualifcaton level. Where a unit is chosen from another currently endorsed Training Packageor accredited course, it must be from a qualifcaton or course at Certfcate III level or above, and must contribute towards the vocatonal outcome of the program.

In the frst instance, any grievance should be discussed with the relevant Administratve person, Tutor or Facilitator. If they cannot resolve the problem to your satsfacton, it will then be referred to the Campus Manager.If the Campus Manager was your frst point of contact or if the issue is stll not resolved to your satsfacton, thenthe Natonal Manager shall endeavour to resolve the mater. If the Natonal Manager does not resolve the mater to your satsfacton, the Director-Internatonal Business or the Corporate Leader will be pleased to make an appointment and listen to your grievance. If you do not agree with the result given for an assessment task, you may appeal the assessment decision. Youshould frst discuss the assessment result with your Tutor or Facilitator. If you are not satsfed with the outcome of that discussion, you can access the appeal process through the Campus Manager. Assessment

There are assessments tasks for every Performance Criteria built into every Unit of Competency. You will not be assessed untl you indicate that you are prepared for assessment. You will be given at least one-week’s notce by your Tutor or Facilitator for any assessment being organized by the Assessor. You must have submited your portolio of evidence prior to the actual assessment date, or bring it with you to the assessment. If face to face assessment is being undertaken you must atend. If you are sick, a phone call is required to advise of your absence.Otherwise, a doctor’s certfcate will be necessary for an alternatve date to be set for the assessment. For moreinformaton on assessment, refer to your ‘Course Informaton Guide’ for this Unit, and/or for additonal informaton, which is available on the GEM website.

LocatonIf you do not have a workplace that is suitable for you to demonstrate your competence on the job, GEM College ofInternatonal Business may be able to provide customised, fexible or on-the-job optons for this course. Contact your Tutor or Facilitator for further informaton to discuss your needs.

Reasonable adjustmentIf you have a permanent or temporary conditon that may prevent you successfully completng the assessmenttask(s) you should immediately discuss this with your Tutor or Facilitator, about a ‘reasonable adjustment’. This is the adjustment of the way in which you are to be assessed to take into account your conditon. This may include providing additonal tme, or a support person. While assessment tasks may be changed to suit your conditon, the actual performance criteria cannot be altered.

Recogniton of Prior Learning and Current CompetencyGEM College of Internatonal Business recognises skills gained through previous studies, the workplace and lifeexperience which may allow you to complete your qualifcaton more quickly than the nominated minimal hours.

You may be enttled to recogniton that will exempt you from one or more Units of Competency. Where you can provide evidence of competency in all Units in a given qualifcaton, you will be required to complete a major project, to demonstrate your ability to provide current applicaton of those competencies across a range of sectors, or with regards to a range of contngencies.

If you are granted RPL the target unit will be reported on your Academic Transcript advanced standing. Nogradings are provided for Units granted under RPL arrangements.

You must enrol in all Units of Competency and apply for an exempton by completng a form. Atendance at class, or Online is necessary untl any relevant exempton is granted.
