Mission of establishment

The center co-operates in implementing government policy, and has involvement in R & D for

manufacturing, quality engineering, design, management, research and development of marketing

systems, technology transfer and talent education involving toys and children's appliances. The

center's aim is to facilitate the objective for upgrading toys and children's appliances.

Vision of R & D Center

Short-range planning：(1) Facilitate quality control and safety service for toys, playground equipment and children's

appliances, and assist manufacturers to enhance quality and safety.

(2) Expand categories of testing service:playground equipment, and children's appliances.

(3) Endeavor for mutual international certification, and simplification of testing procedures.

(4) Promote ST as the authorized safe toy mark with a domestic popularity rate of more than 50%, and include children's appliances within the scope of application of the ST mark, as well as working in conjunction with liability insurance in order to realize protection work for children.

(5) Provide cooperation and conduct technology transfer on valuable commodities by means of R & D alliances on toys, playground equipment, and children's appliances as well as prized works from creative contests.

(6) Resort to strategic alliance to jointly shoulder product liability insurance.

(7) Promote SP marks for safety playround equipment and counseling.

Medium-range planning：(1) Expand related examination and provide a service regarding research technology for children's

appliance to become an internationally recognized professional institute.

(2) Integrate existing safety marks in order to move towards a centralized safety mark and internationalization, thus enhancing the competitiveness of national manufacturer.

(3) Work to achieve a domestic popularity rate of more than 70% for the ST mark for safety of toys.

(4) Strive for Taiwan Children's Commodities R & D Center to include valuation and transfer of new products and enhancement of value-added products.

(5) Establishment of a talent training center and R & D database.

(6) Work to achieve a domestic popularity rate of 50% for the SP mark for safety of playground equipment.
