Two major long-term opportunities at one of Asia’s blue-chip travel retail locations are on offer

Duty free products that can be sold include tobacco, alcohol, perfumes & leathergoods, watches, fashion & accessories, and other general merchandise.

However, the contract model differs markedly from other Asian airports. It is described as a renovation, operation, and transfer (ROT) project, and involves operating a combination of commercial and public services.

Besides the traditional duty free operations, the winning concessionaire/s will sell or operate:

• Multicultural and ‘creativity’ merchandise and museum shops• Food & beverage

Tasa Meng has established a thriving business in recent years at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. Recently it partnered with Dior in this pop-up store to promote the new Miss Dior Eau de Parfum.

This month, Tasa Meng Corporation marked the fifth anniversary of its Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport charity store by donating NT$4.8 million (approximately US$160,000) among six charities

In keeping with Taoyuan Airport Corporation’s strong Corporate Social Responsibility ethic, the winners must provide job opportunities for the disabled.

They must also operate certain airport public services:

Perhaps the most notable aspect of Ever Rich Duty Free’s contract tenure has been its brilliantly developed themed gate lounges. For this one, the retailer partnered with the Taiwan National University of Art. The lounge, dubbed ‘The Glory of Hi-tech’, was constructed using recycled mother boards.

The concessionaires will also be in charge of public signage related to their respective areas of responsibility; toilet renovation and maintenance; and prayer rooms.
