approx. 12km Then walk to the front station of Chiayi Train
Station, and then take Chiayi County Bus- Alishan route at the
Chiayi Bus Station. Chiayi Bus Station is located next to the
Chiayi Train Station (travel time from Chiayi Bus Station to
Alishan Forest Recreation Area: 2.5 hrs).

1.30pmLunch & visit at area - ()
3.00pm() - NT200Giant Trees Trail, (near Shermuh station). There
are in fact two of these, both near Shermuh station, and they can
be walked in a pleasant half-hour loop. True to the name, the
cypresses here are giant indeed, and many have been growing for
well over a millennium. The small Cihyun Temple, originally built
by the Japanese, and the Tree Spirit Pagoda()are along the way. The
trail is particularly spooky when the mist rolls in.
4.30pm ()Shoujhen Temple (). The largest temple in Alishan and
definitely worth a visit. The exterior and first floor are imposing
enough, but don't miss a visit to the second floor, featuring an
incredibly ornate golden altar and a surreal room with 10,000
miniature Buddhas, each lit up with its own LED.
5.00pm () Two Sisters Pond (). Two scenic little ponds in the
forest. The Elder Sister Pond, the larger of the two, has a
much-photographed octagonal little pavilion in the middle. The
(demanding) trail to Tashan starts from here

West Bus Station Terminal A (near Taipei Main Station) platform 8
to Yehliu -- "Jin Shan Youth Activity Centre" route. The first bus
departs at 0540 hrs (weekdays) and 0615 hrs (weekends). Bus
frequency: 15~20 mins. Fare: NT$96 (Can use Easycard) Travel time:

near the sea with unique rock formations, is located at the 48-49km
mark along the coastal road (Provincial highway no. 2) between
Jinshan Township and Keelung city. Alight at Yehliu stop near a
road T-junction. Yehliu is out of view from the bus stop. Inform
the bus driver in advance to alert you when the bus reaches Yehliu
stop.Visit Yehliu Ocean World () is just next door to Yehliu
Geological Park. Catch Yehliu Ocean World first performance show at

Jiufen Old Street stop. The bus terminates at Jinguashih, about 2.5

the Information Counter. Sit on the right side to view over the
river. From bus station walk to town abt 10 mins. (is small can be
covered by foot less than 30 mins)
11.00am: walk around & lunch and continues to the falls via
the "Lover's Path", which affords some nice views of the river
gorge below the falls.
01.00pm: The free hot springs are on the other side of the
Nanshih River from the tourist street in downtown Wulai. Just cross
the bridge, turn right, and walk up the road. Soon, on the right,
you will see a stairway that takes you down to the river. Walk
along the river and you will soon arrive at a rustic outdoor public
hot springs area, with changing rooms, several pools, and even a
sauna. You can also take a dip in the river when the water level is
low and the current is weak. PS: As this area is in the open,
swimming wear must be worn.
02.00pm:Option: Viewing waterfall by cable car From the main
tourist street in the town, cross the bridge, and take the wooden
staircase across the road. It goes up to the left. Follow the
pedestrian street to the station. To take little train (NT50/ 1way)
brings you to the terminus (1.5km) of the cable car (NT220/2ways)
that brings you to the top of a nearby mountain.
