Trade & Investment Commissioner for Japan Trade & Investment Queensland’s office in Tokyo is headed by Tak Adachi. Tak has been the Queensland Government’s Commissioner in Japan, one of the state’s largest export markets, since 2004. Before his appointment, Tak was a Senior Investment Commissioner for North Asia at Invest Australia (within the Australian Embassy Tokyo - now part of Austrade), following a successful private sector career as an investment banker, working in both Japan and Australia with Deutsche Bank as Director Global Markets. Prior to this, Tak held senior positions with Macquarie Bank and Andersen Consulting (now Accenture). He holds a Bachelor of International Law from Sophia University in Tokyo and a Master of Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management. Tak is also a Special Advisor to the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Brisbane Branch.
