    Happy New Year.

We, at TAKAMAZ, and with you, our dear customers, would

like to welcome this new year, 2010, with great enthusiasm.

Last year in the midst of a recession the worsening of the

profitability in many companies is compounded with high

unemployment and the decline in consumer spending. In the

automotive industry, which is one of Japan's leading industries,

there is an increase in sales due to the effect of tax break for

environment friendly cars in Japan and adopted by many

countries and consequently, the adjustments of parts inventory.

There will be a short-term better sales performance but it will

be far below than the peak performance.

However, Asian countries have already been helping our

economy. This economic recovery in Asia is expected to

become a leading force in the world for economic recovery in

    the future.

Even in this kind of economic condition, we, at TAKAMAZ,

strive to better serve you, our customers, with your cooperation

through "Business Proposal" enhancements comprising better

processing method, and machine cell configuration, through

implementation of detailed maintenance and service, and

continued focus on developing new products to meet your

    demand.

As announced last year, the "X-S700" and "XC-100" are

machines smaller in size and energy efficient as compared to

standard TAKAMAZ machines achieving a new product that

contributes to increased productivity per unit area. TAKAMAZ

will be glad to offer these machines when you consider

investment in new facilities and equipment.

TAKAMAZ is celebrating its 50-year anniversary this year. I

would like to thank you for continuously patronizing TAKAMAZ

though just gratitude is not enough.A continues to

progress with you in the future

    as TAKAMAZ focuses on the

    development and provision of a

    "Profitable Machine". TAKAMAZ

    looks forward to your support

    and encouragement.

    Thank You.

This is a word used to celebrate

    the new year in Japanese.

It is also used in Japan's

Tell us about your company from its foundation

up to the present. We have a long history founded in 1920 by Joe Johnson and

William A. Seidemann. Prior to Johnson's idea for

"interchangeable sockets," the socket wrenches used by

mechanics were one-piece units. Professional auto

mechanics quickly recognized the efficiency and flexibility

that resulted from pairing many sockets with few handles.

From the beginning, sales were generated by demonstrating

the benefits of the novel tool sets directly to the customers.

New tools were added to the line, and a catalog was

published in 1923. By 1925, 165 salesmen were

    demonstrating and distributing Snap-On tools.

What are some characteristics of your company ?

Snap-On, Incorporated is one of the largest and most

successful manufacturers and marketers of hand tools,

power tools, shop equipment, diagnostic equipment, collision

repair equipment, and emissions/safety equipment in the

United States. The company makes hand tools such as

wrenches, sockets, pliers, ratchets, screwdrivers; power tools

such as pneumatic (air) and corded (electric) drills, sanders,

    and polishers; and a host

    of other items like wheel

    balancing and alignment

    equipment for cars, tool

    chests and cabinets for

    industrial, automotive,

    and aerospace storage

    applications, and engine

    and emission analyzing

equipment. Snap-On markets its entire range of products

through an extensive international network of subsidiaries,

dealers, and representatives. The company considers itself

the originator of the mobile van method of marketing hand

    tools.

increase productivity and has significantly lowered our overallprocess costs including material and labor. We have found

the factory installation automation components from

    TAKAMAZ to be of superior

    many more TAKAMAZ

machines in the future and torecommend TAKAMAZ to our

    facilities World Wide.

Do you have any requests for TAKAMAZ ?Our future factory plans include TAKAMAZ automated

turning equipment to replace and automate current manually

operated process such as de-burring and polishing to name

a few. The overall reliability of the equipment has given us

the confidence to venture into pursing TAKAMAZ Automation

for many shop manufacturing process which now requires a

    Favorite phrase: Gratitude and Compassion

I am on my fourth year since entering

TAKAMAZ, and on my third year since joining

    the Technical Department.

Initially after joining this department, I did

study programming and operation of machines, which was completely different

from my work at the previous department. I was a little bit nervous. But now I

am quite familiar with this work environment and it is fun everyday.

NC schooling is my main responsibility. I instruct customers about machine

operation and programming. I have many chances in dealing with many

different customers, and it is a very good motivation for me. I still have many

shortcomings causing trouble to my superiors and seniors. But I am ambitious

and will continue to work and study hard. Thank you very much.

Thank you always for your help.

With the personnel change of April of last year, I

was transferred from Kanto Branch, where I had

been working for 23 years, to TAKAMATSU

MACHINERY USA (TMU). At Kanto Branch, I was helped a lot by dealers and

customers, and I truly would like to thank them.

Three months have passed since being appointed on this post at TMU. During the

preparation for my move to TMU, pandemic influenza outbreak caused me to cancel

my planned first visit to the USA. Eventually, I was able to visit USA but without any

preparation. Recently, I found my apartment and trying to manage my living in US.

About my work, there are many points that are still unfamiliar as a result of language

barrier. But with the help of the staff of TMU, I am able to visit dealers and end users.

    Thank you.

Businessman and Serviceman Skill UpgradeTraining Conference

As part of the integrated effort of the Japan Small Machine ToolManufacturers Association, skill workshop mainly for businessmen

and servicemen was held at each of the meeting halls in Tokyo,

Osaka and Nagoya. Takamaz branch employees attended each

    location. Mr. Shinichi Tsuruta,

    representative of Business Skills

    Institute, gave instructions on

    strengthening sales strategies

    and presentation skills by

    offering a course for specialized

    training in business skills.

    On October 14 ~ 17 of last

    year, for four days,

    Mechatronics Technology

Japan (MECT) 2009 was held at Port Messe Nagoya (Aichi

Prefecture). Amid concerns about the decline in the number

of visitors due to the global economic downturn, the number

of visitors for this year is 90,920 and almost similar to the

total number of visitors of previous exhibition making it a

vibrant fair. Many people visited our booth and the new

"XC-100" "X-S700" models are included on the total of 7

machines exhibited. Thank you for visiting our booth.

Metalex Thailand 2009 ExhibitionOn November 19 ~ 22, for four days, Metalex 2009 was held in

Bangkok, Thailand, and TAKAMAZ also put a machine exhibition.

Although the total number of visitors was almost the same

    number as last year, there

    were many inquiries for new

    machines, and finally the

total tally of inquiries are 5

    times than last year.

    Exhibition was certainly felt

    as barometer of recent rapid
