Career outlookThe majority of occupations open to business administration

graduates are projected to see average growth of 9.5% according

to Emsi, a top source for labor market analytics. Occupations

expecting a higher than average growth include management

analyst (15%), general and operations manager (12%), and

administrative services manager (11%). From 2018 to 2028,

over half a million new jobs are expected to be created for

positions often held by business administration degree

holders. Demand for graduates who hold a bachelor’s degree in

business administration will continue to be steady, as this is a

mature and stable job market.

CurriculumThe core business curriculum is centered around 39 projects,

instead of traditional classes. These projects are designed

to simulate authentic scenarios that you’ll face in your daily

work in the business world. For example, to demonstrate your

marketing skills, you’ll enroll in a project called “Marketing Plan”

and will develop a mock marketing plan for a new product—

using learning resources curated by faculty—instead of sitting

for a traditional exam. In the final culminating capstone, you’ll

conduct a comprehensive evaluation of a business, identify

areas of improvement, recommend a solution and plans to

achieve strategic objectives, and present your findings—

demonstrating you’ve mastered essentials skills required to

succeed in any modern enterprise.

The business administration curriculum is designed to build

upon a liberal education foundation. Specifically, as a graduate

of the program, you will:

» Demonstrate social and personal responsibility and ethical behavior for organizational contexts.

» Apply financial tools and techniques to meet organizational objectives.

» Design and evaluate operations, supply chain, marketing, human resources, management systems, structures, and processes in organizations.

» Apply information technology and research methods to improve organizational decision-making.

» Evaluate scenarios impacting an organization and respond using diverse communication strategies.

» Evaluate economic, political, regulatory, legal, technological, and social contexts to address organizational challenges in a global society.

» Apply intercultural knowledge, interpersonal skills and teamwork to function effectively in diverse environments.
