1a. Who am I in a few words.

Ok, who am I..? I see my self as positive and open minded person who cares for others. I enjoy the company of people at work, in school and at home.. I like to solve problems and be creative about it. Sometimes I can be very skeptical and I often see flaws and faults before accepting qualities, but I think this is a good skill to have and it makes me think about how things could be improved - I don’t stop at crititism I come up with ideas and solutions.

My interest in life has been many, I’ve spend months in the mountains trying to get as much air under my snowboard as possible, and I’ve spend many hours trying to defeat others online in different games, work out and getting social with friends.

I haven’t had much spare time the last year though as I’ve been working 50-60 hours a week having two jobs. But i did recently quit one of my jobs and now I have got more time to things like working out again and off course spending more time with my girlfriend :)

As mentioned earlier i often find my self wondering how i would improve things such as websites or products. Lately I have especially been thinking about web shops - why they don’t ask for your opinion and doesn’t want to know what you are looking for, they don’t help you or even try to surprise you with new things on the market and really make products stand out from the crowd.

My conclusion is that i want to be the best when it comes to being innovative and to think “outside the box” with an eye on the realistic solutions. I almost can’t wait to start working with websites and creativity in marketing.

So therefor Digital Media, here i come ;)

2. A story told by me about me My story begins a little more than two years ago..

I spend my summer not knowing which way to go. Should I start an education or should I get a job? I didn’t know. All I knew was that I had to do something.. I always had a dream about going to the Alps and snowboard for a whole season but I newer had the money for a five month vacation.

Then one day when I was at the hair dresser, Glen my hair dresser told me that he had been working in the Alps helping a Danish company called Nortlander ski tours, making their living on selling trips to people who wants to go skiing in the Alps.

Glen told me who to contact and the very next day I spoke with Nortlander. I got an interview and I was lucky to get a ticket for the Nortlander guide school, a one-week education in Tignes France.

In Tignes we learned all about the tasks we where to do when we arrived at the loca-tion. By location I mean the skiing resort we where assigned to guide. Further more we spend five days drinking. The teachers wanted to see how we handled alcohol and classes with a hangover.

Two months later it was time to go to Livigno, the greatest skiing resort of Italy.

My co-workers and I arrived by car in Livigno around midnight. Before we could get to our apartment we needed the keys and had to wake up our Italian contact the former officer and professor Paulo. Paulo is very strict and demanding and DON’T like to be called at the middle of the night and we where told never to call him at that time again and to meet him at his office the following day at nine o’clock - sharp.

So we rented a hotel and waited to the next morning before we went to Paulo’s office. Paulo was furious and told us he was to stop working with Nortlander, and we wouldn’t get our apartment because we disturbed him at midnight - he pointed out that he knew everybody in Livigno and he would do what ever it took to make us unwanted in Livigno. Finally after 30 minutes of torture at his office he said, “Ok, let’s go to your apartment” and he smiled.

Weeks went by and my co-workers and I started getting really good at our job. Every saturday one of us went to the airport by bus picking up somewhere between 30 and 100 guest. The other two staied in Livigno making sure all the hotels were ready, collect and distribute ski passes, and help newly arrived guest traveling by car.

We finished Saturday nights off by inviting all the new guest to a “welcome to awesome Livigno” meeting giving them information about the re-sort make sure they felt ok, and try to get them to buy our events.

Sundays we had Scandinavian nights in Livigno and together with all of the Scandinavian skiing companies, as many of their guest as possible we would meet at night on “Disco Kokodi” the very best club in town.

Mondays and Tuesdays where the guest’s chance to go skiing with my co-workers and me. I really enjoyed this part, first off all I got to snowboard all day and secondly it was impossible not to im-press our guest with my skills on a snowboard.

Tuesday nights was the pub-crawl nights and really something we had a lot of success doing. Lots of guest, five hours, five bars and five times

too much alcohol :)

Wednesdays, oh dear god not Wednesdays... The hard days after pub-crawl... at Wednesdays we slept long and in the evening we drove snowmobiles with our guest - I really liked this part too did you know that the snowmobile was invented in Livigno and that it’s one mean machine that really can make your hair fluffy and your legs shaky?

On Thursdays we had a picnic with our guests at the mountain serving Italian spe-cialties, especially “grappa” it’s and Italian liqueur with all kind of tastes. Later we would build a small kicker and jump on ski and snowboard in front of the guests, sometimes together with the guests too. After drinking grappa that’s fun!

Fridays was the last day of our guests holiday and we would go to all of their apart-ments and hotel rooms to make sure they were ready to end their holiday.

The following Saturday it would all start over again and it did for 5 months...

I never in my life had the same kind of responsibility and so many exciting experi-ences before. Responsibilities for the guest in trouble whether they lost their wallet and passport or if they crashed on the mountain and broke a leg. Yes even if their coffee machine didn’t work.. Experiences like the friendships with my co-workers, all the snowboarding and being the person other relied on. Yes, also when it meant get-ting a new coffee machine for the sometimes pain-in-the-ass-guest.
