• For this I will get my model to dress up as a Robin Hood. For this shoot I plan to take a different range of photographs. My model will either wear a fox onesie or wear orangey browny colourerd tights or trousers to look like a fox. Also, I will have to find a fox tail and a green tunic, hat and shoes or something similar to the costume. Furthermore, I will get a fox mask as I think it will be easier than to use face paint. I will do this as I think it will be very difficult to get the features of the fox realistic using face paint.

• Furthermore, I will see if I can find an bow and arrows for the shoot as I’ll get my model do to some poses like these ones ;

• For the locations of the shoots I will have to go to the woods or to a local forest. I will also go to a castle or a church to try and get an image like this;

• Before going out and taking the photographs and going to the locations I need to, I will check the weather as I would like it to be either cloudy or sunny.

Shoot Plan – Disney’s Robin Hood

For the shoot, I will create my own or print off wanted/reward posters to stick around the area I am using for my shoot so they will be in the background.

Locations I plan to go to Badbury Rings for my shoot as it has little woods in the middle of the rings.

Also, I thought that I can do the shoot in the common near where I live, as not many people know about it and it is more sheltered.

Shoot Plan – Disney’s Robin Hood

If I am unable to get to Corfe Castle, there is a church near where I live that I could ask to use for my shoot.

I plan to got to Corfe Castle to get photographs for my shoot with my model either climbing or posing with the bow.

Contact sheets Test shots

Robin Hood shoot

I did test shots of the location so I new what settings to use depending if I wanted it to be quite dark and shaded or bright. The final settings for this shoot was; Shutter speed: 1/50 F-stop: 8 ISO: 1600

I will choose this image to edit and us as one of my best images as its not as bright as the others. Which was good as I was I wanted the image to be dark.

I will also pick this image to edit as I really like it because I didn’t copy on image and took two different images from the film and put them together.

I don’t like this image as I don’t like the angle it was shot at.

I don’t like this image as I don’t like the angle because I feel like it is too front on.

Edits – Before and After

I chose this image as I like it because it turned out better than I thought it would. This is because it turned our dark even though it was really bright in the common. Furthermore, I did try out different angles and this one looked the best as you can clearly see the poster and he was at the right angle to balance an arrow.

The adjustments I made to this images in Photoshop is that I increased the contrast and decreased the brightness slightly to make it a little darker. Furthermore, I increased the vibrance and saturation slightly.

The adjustments I made to this image are the same as the image before, I increased the contrast and decreased the brightness. Also, I increased the vibrance to full and increased the saturation a little.

This is probably my favourite image as you can tell that Robin Hood is being his mischievous self. Furthermore, I didn’t have to do a lot of editing to the image.

Final edits

Evaluation

The original purpose of this little project within this unit was to create a tale through images. Creating a mind map of ideas and then choosing your own idea and writing a plan for the shoot, buying or making the costume and choosing the location. I think that I managed my time quite well as I did my all research first to get ideas before I did my mind map. Furthermore, I got the costume: green tunic, green hat and red feather, fox tail, fox mask and ears, the day before I did the shoot because I checked the weather and it was a sunny day to do a shoot in the wood. Also, I decided to do it after I brought the costume because then I had time to edit the images and choose my final image. Research helped me in this little project as I could find out what kind of poses Robin Hood does, what colour and kind of thing he wears and where I could buy them or how I could make them. Furthermore, I could also decide on what location I could do the shoot at by watching the film and researching the locations around where I live that are similar. I learnt that you always have to have a back up plan just in case something goes wrong or not to plan. As I found out when I was buying the costume. I was able to find a Robin Hood costume; hat, green tunic and ears. However, I was unable to find a full faced fox mask and a fox tail. The way I over came this was that myself and my model decided that we will mix both Disney’s Robin Hood and the 2010 film together, as the only mask I could find was a fox masquerade mask. Furthermore, I was unable to get to the New forest or Badbury Rings and to get to a castle or church. I did have a back up plan for this as I said that if I was unable to get to the places I wanted to go, there was always Kinson common I could do the shoot at as it was quiet and like a forest. I also learnt that you should always take test shots of the location to make sure you get the settings correct before you start the shoot, so you don’t have to get your model to hold a position in the same place until you get the settings right for the location. Analysing and evaluating my work as helped me as I have been able to say images I like or dislike, say why, what went wrong and what I would change. Furthermore, I can also say what I did in Photoshop and why I did that to make it the final image. The things that I think went successful was that I was able to find everything I needed for the shoot and I was able to get to my back up location when the weather was sunny. Furthermore, I was able to get the photographs I wanted as the back up location has loads of low branches and was quiet. The things that I could improve on or change if I did this project again is that I could take more photographs, different angles and different settings. Furthermore, I could of researched more about Robin Hood to find more information about what he wears and what he uses. Also, I could of looked in more fancy dress shops and look online to find things I couldn’t find in the shop.
