Dull, unevenly textured, wrinkled skin is commonly the result of photoaging. “Photoaged” skin can

cause us to appear older than our chronological age, and is primarily attributed to unprotected skin being exposed to sun and environmental elements for extended periods of time. Skin rejuvenation is the most commonly sought treatment for tired, damaged skin.

The Gold Standard in rejuvenation and treating facial redness has been the Candela Vbeam® Perfecta pulsed dye laser. Over the past 20 years, it remains the safest and most effective treatment for the widest range of vascular lesions. This laser is specifi cally designed to treat underlying vascular and epidermal pigmented lesions without damaging the surface of the skin. Perfecta uses micro-pulse technology to provide visibly effective treatments without any open wounds, facial crusting, “purpura,” or laser bruising. Patients who receive treatment can walk out the door without embarrassing side effects.

The Vbeam Perfecta treats conditions such as facial and nasal veins, sun spots and freckles, diffuse redness and rosacea, psoriasis, even unsightly scars; and can be used on the face and body. Patients can come in for treatment and resume normal activities when their treatment is done, unlike peels or other procedures that require downtime at home to heal and let bruising subside, or to heal open wounds and scratchy skin.

You may be a candidate for the Vbeam Perfecta laser treatment if you have visible blood vessels, raised strawberry-like lesions, red, raised or thick scars, red birthmarks, reddish stretch marks, or rosacea of the face, neck, or chest. The intent of the Vbeam Perfecta laser is to reduce or eliminate redness associated with the conditions above. Secondarily, the Vbeam laser may also be used to stimulate collagen growth.

This all-in-one device allows patients to be treated quickly and comfortably, and then immediately return to their daily activities. The result is a glowing and even looking complexion; some patients even notice an improvement in pore size. The Vbeam Perfecta is the most used laser in our practice.
