Ms. IVo.33, Perconnel and Administntive Reforms M, 2nd ,tnrci ZOIZ,w0 E &(N fuiorir@ari 4&@-tua.1No' ll(2)/PHRR17/2017.-The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission is conducting Departmental Tests on behalfof the Govemment to.all persons whether employed under the Govemment or not. Th'e Departmental Tests are hitherlo

conducled in desoiptive type only. !n order to samplify the procedures for evaluation of the answer sheets of theDepartmental Tests and for quick publication of results, the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission had constatuteda Departmental Examinations Reforms Committee. Based on the recommendations of the Departmental ExaminationsReforms Committee. the Govemment have decided to conduct the Departmental Examinations in the new pattern:- Thelist of Oepartmental Tests conducted by the Tamil Nadu Public SeMce Commission and the detailed syllabus andtime tables therefor are revised and re-issued as below:

The Departmentral Er<aminations shalt be held during the last 8 days in the months of May and December of everyyear including Public Holirlays but excluding Releious Holidays if any in betueen.The examinations shall be held at such places as rnay from time to time be notified.

2) By whom to be conducted:

The Deparlmenta! Examinations shatl be corducted by Tarit Nadu Public Service Commission.3) To whom open:

The Departmental Examinatbns shall be open to all @rsons whether Employed under the Govemment or not.4) Syllabi:

The list of Departnental Tests and netrr Test Code number with Revised Scheme of Examination are detailed inAnnexure - I and the Revised Syllabus for all Departrnental Tests are detailed in Annexure - ll to this Notifcation.Note:-The Regulations.

9oO":- and Acts prescribed under any Test shall be subjecr to amendments and modifications,as may be made from time to time and candirlates shall be expecled to beacquainted with all sucfr amendmentsand modifications, provided that they were published or notified not less than six months prior to the date ofthe examinations. '2.5) ln what lanquaqes to be held :

The question papers for all the tests will be set both in Tamil and English

except the Departmental Tests for the Members of the Staff of the Tamil Nadu Khadhi

and Village lndustries Board-First Paper, the question paper of which will be set only

in Tamil and the candidates should answer this paper in Tamil only.

6) Time Table:

The Time Table for conducting of Departmental Examination under Revised

Syllabus / Pattern / Scheme of Examination is detailed in Annexure - lll to this

Notification.

7) Attendinq of Departmental Examination without Books I With Books:

The list of Departmental Test / Code Numbers which are to be written without

Books for objective Type (o0 with Books for the Descriptive Type of Examination are

detailed in Annexure - lll to this Notification.

8) Number of Tests that mav be brouqht up at a time:

Subjecttosuchrestrictions,asmaybeimposedbyTamilNaduPublicServicecommission in its Time - Table of Examinations to be published in the month of

Marqh and september for the conduct of Departmental Examinations in May and

December respectively, the candidates shall be at liberty to appear for any one or

more of the tests at t'he Departmental Examinations held in May / Decpmber every

year.

9) Publication of Results:

The detailed results with register number, together with name and. addres; of

the successful candidates in th6 Departmental Tests will be published_ in the

Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission Bulletin. The register numbers of absent

candidates together with their names and register numbers of failed candidates

together with lheir names will also be published in the Tamil Nadu Public Service

Commission Bulletin.

10) Mode of APPlication and Time:

TheapplicationsforDepartmentalExaminationsarebeingmadethroughonlineonly as p.1. ih. terms of Notiiication. The Commission may in its discretion, extend

the last date for submission of application online for any valid reasons'

I 1) Examination Centres:

The Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission may alrange to- hold the

Departmental Examination in all the District Head Quarters of the State of Tamil Nadu

and in New Delhi.

12) Pattern of Examination: -

The Revised Syllabus / Scheme / Pattern of Examination for the conduct ofvarious Departmental Tests, the minimum marks for pass in Objective / Descriptive /Both of Objective and Descriptive type of examination are detailed in Annexure -ll tothis Notification.

{3} Duration of Examination and Minimum Pass Marks:

The duration of Departmental Examination for each test are detailed inAnnexure - lll to this Notification.

Pass Marks :-

14) Examination Fee:

Examination fee for Departmental Examinations is Rs.200/- per paper(excluding the cost of online application fee) and Postal / Bank charges levied by themfrom time to time for all Departmental Examination papers.

15) Re-imbursement of Examination fee:

The persons in Government service who are eligible under the existing rules forclaiming fee exemption should pay the fee with the application and may claimre-imbursement of the examination fee paid from their offices.

The erstwhile Three - Tier System (Dishict, Taluk and Block) was converted intoTwo Tier System (District and Block) and Technical Staff provided in the new setup inAgriculture, Horticulture, Agricultural Marketing and Agri Business and SeedCertification Departments. Staff Pattern was reorganized vide G.O.Ms.No.537,Agriculture (AA 8) Department, dated 24.12.2007.
