P&C Meeting:

Next meeting 11 June 2019. All are welcome to attend.

P&C Funding Assistance for Regional and State Sporting Events:

The P&C committee have made some funds available to offset some of the costs that parents encounter when they take their children to sporting events. If your child has been selected in a district or regional team/sport you can write a letter to the P&C asking for some assistance.

Mandatory Training:

I will offer mandatory training again for parents that are interested in helping out in some way in classrooms or throughout the school.

The next round is on Wednesday 15 May at 2pm.

Please let the office know if you are attending. If the time/date does not suit, please contact Kerry to organise a time that would be mutually beneficial for us both.

SNOWIES CAMP MEETING:

Wednesday 15 May ay 3pm.

All parents or interested parents are invited to attend this meeting.

The agenda will include the small response of students who are attending and answers to any questions that you may have about the camp.

I would encourage all parents of students in Years 4-10 to attend this meeting.

Athletics Carnival

Another great carnival was held on Friday last week. Congratulations to Barcoo who were the winners on the day. Con-gratulations to Thompson for winning the March Past.

Well done to all athletes, helpers, and thank you to the P&C who kept everyone fed and watered.

District Athletics Charleville Friday:

Good luck to all students who are representing Tambo in Charleville on Friday at the district athletics trials. Miss Charles will be there to help on the day.

School Behaviour Focus:

Throughout the year, teachers will be focussing on specific behaviours in their classrooms in relation to our “Be” rules.

This week’s focus is “Be Respectful.” Students are asked to enter and exit rooms in an orderly manner and to take care when lining up.

Weekly Attendance Rate:

The weekly attendance rate for Week 2 Term 2 was 87.9%. This was an improvement of over 10% from Week 1 and I thank parents for the effort in this.

Parents you must notify the school of the reason for your child’s absence. If the school is not notified we are re-quired by legislation to telephone you. If your child is going to have a prolonged absence you need to contact the school regarding this.

Homework:

The school has a homework policy. Every parent should be aware that their children are getting homework each week.

Homework reinforces concepts that are taught in the classroom or is a follow up for stu-dents that have not completed enough work during the day. Homework may also be in the form of projects or assignments that students are given a number of weeks to com-plete. These assignments give students marks towards their assessment pieces.

If your child is genuinely struggling with their homework you need to contact the school.

Any questions about homework should be directed to the class teachers.
