Guy Boucher was named the seventh head coach in Tampa Bay Lightning history on June 10, 2010.After a slow start in 2011-12, battling a number of injuries to key players, Boucher's team finished strong down the stretch, posting a 21-13-4record in its final 38 games. The Lightning also put together a 6-3-1 record in their final 10 games, tied for the fourth best mark in the EasternConference. Boucher also continued to emphasize the importance of winning for the home fans and the team responded by tying the franchiserecord for home wins in a season with 25. Despite being known for defense, Boucher's team ranked in the top 10 in the NHL in goals scoredper game for the second consecutive season with 2.83. The Notre-Dame-du-Lac, Quebec native entered the 2012-13 regular season with the highest winning percentage of any coach in Lightninghistory, going 84-61-19 in 164 games for a .570 percentage (Tortorella - .508).

http://jets.nhl.com/v2/ext/files/1213-Winnipeg-Jets-Media-Guide.pdf GAME PREVIEWThe Winnipeg Jets (3-3-1) close out their three-game road swing with a date versus the Tampa Bay Lightning (5-1-0) at the Tampa BayTimes Forum. After winning three straight, the Jets have now lost two in a row to fall back to .500 on the season. The Lightning arecurrently riding a four-game win streak. The Jets finished the 2011-12 season series against the Lightning with a record of 3-1-2. Threeof the six head-to-head matchups last season went to overtime. The final game of the 2011-12 season for both teams was a game atMTS Centre on Apr. 7/12, during which Steven Stamkos scored his 60th goal of the season. TEAM NOTESBattling in the SoutheastThe Jets have faced two division opponents this season, defeating the Capitals on the road on Jan. 22 (4-2 W) and losing in Florida onJan. 31 (3-6 L). Winnipeg’s record versus the Southeast was far greater than .500 last season when they won 14 of 24 divisionalmatchups. Winnipeg and Tampa Bay had the best interdivision records in the Southeast last season:

T.G.I.F.The Jets played nine games on Friday nights in 2011-12 and it proved to be their favourite night of the week. With a record of 6-3-0,Winnipeg had a .667 winning percentage on Fridays last season. Middle frameThe second period has been the Jets’ strongest through seven games. So far this season, Winnipeg has compiled nine goals andallowed three from the opposition during the second period of play. Andrew Ladd (1G, 3A) and Dustin Byfuglien (2G, 2A) are tied forthe team lead in second period points with involvement in four goals each. Second-half of back-to-backsThe second-half of back-to-back games plagued the Jets in 2011-12. The Jets had a record of 1-11-1 when playing the second of twogames in two days. Winnipeg took advantage of their first opportunity right that wrong this season with a spirited 4-2 win in Washingtonon Jan. 22, one day after earning a point in a 2-1 shootout loss in Boston. The Jets will be tested again on Friday when they visitTampa Bay, one day after a 6-3 defeat in Florida. Usually more disciplinedThe Jets were left shorthanded a season-high six times on Thursday night versus Florida (3-6 L) which marked the first time thisseason Winnipeg had given up more power plays than the opposition. On the season, the Jets have been shorthanded 22 times andhave gone on the power play 30 times. Defending the five-on-threeThe Jets needed to defend a five-on-three man advantage for the first time this season when Zach Redmond and Mark Stuart wereboth sitting in the box during the second period. Florida capitalized on the opportunity giving them the first goal of the game. Winnipegfaced the wrong end of a five-on-three 20 times last season and successfully defended it 16 times (80.0%).  PLAYER NOTESWelcome to the NHLJets defenceman Zach Redmond was called into action and made his NHL debut on Jan. 31 in Florida (3-6 L). The 24-year-old saw aton of ice time in his first game logging 20:56, including 1:47 on the power play.
