    Pick up the remote control

    To wae up the system just pic up theremote control or press any ey. Youmay have to point the remote controltowards the system to mae it discoveryou.

    The system will now show the welcomescreen.

    Even incoming calls wake up thesystem!

    The system is in standby modewhenever it is not used. The screen isthen blac. Any incoming call will waeup the system rom standby.

    Navigating in the menusYour TANDBERG system is operated by means o the remote control and a ew basic navigation principles

    All menu items having an arrowappended allow you to go urtherdown the hierarchy and enteranother submenu.

    Press the OK ey to go urther downin the hierarchy.

    Once you have navigated to a topico interest, press OK to selectthat topic. You will then enter thecorresponding submenu.

    The cursor position (the menu itemselected) is again indicated by anorange rame.

    Some choices consist o radiobuttons. Use the Arrow eys tonavigate and press OK to select asetting.

    Restore deault. Select this icon and clic OKto restore deault settings.

    Entering text in text eldsSome menu elds expect text inormation to be entered

    Using number keys in text elds

    Whenever text entries are expectedby the system, a small abc or ABCappears in the right lower corner o theentry eld. For entry elds expectingnumbers, 123 will appear instead. Intext mode, entries rom the numbereys are automatically interpreted astext entries in the same way as on acellular phone.

    Guidelines:

    Press the ey that corresponds to therequired letter as many times as neededto produce that letter.

    Switch between lower case (abc) andupper case (ABC) letters with the # a/Aey.

    Switch between text mode (abc) andnumber mode (123) by eeping the# a/A ey depressed or more than asecond.

    To insert space, press the 0 ey.

    To insert the @ sign, press the 1-eytwice, while the eypad is in text mode.

    To insert the . sign, press the *.-eyonce, while the eypad is in numbermode.

    To write digits and numbers in a textinput eld, repeatedly press the corre-sponding ey until the digit appears.

    Example: How do I write Alice 123in the Search input eld in the phoneboo?

    Do as ollows:

    1. Press the 2-ey once to get an A.

    2. Press the #-ey once to switch betweenupper case and lower case letters.

    3. Press the 5-ey three times to get an l.

    4. Press the 4-ey three times to get an i.

    5. Press the 2-ey three times to get a c.

    6. Press the 3-ey twice to get an e.

    7. Press the 0-ey once to get space.

    8. Press the 1-ey three times to get a 1.

    9. Press the 2-ey our times to get a 2.

    10. Press the 3-ey our times to geta 3.

    The need or text

    Apart rom the need to enter thenumber or identity o the person youwant to call, you will alsoamong otherthingsneed this ability to search andmaintain your list o contacts in thephone boo.

    When number keys are pressed

    Pressing a number ey outside calls willproduce the Call menu.

    Once positioned inside an entry eldexpecting text entries, the system auto-matically switches to text mode (ABC).Entering letters is similar to as on a cel-lular phonesee right.

    Once positioned inside an entry eldrequiring number entries, the systemautomatically switches to 123 modeallowing numbers to be dialed with thenumber eys as usual.

    The type o entry expected is shownhere as either abc, ABC or 123.

    Dual video stream

    Your video system supports the use odual video streams in video meetings.This means that you can transmit andreceive things lie PC presentations andDVD ootage during the video meeting(point-topoint as well as conerences),in addition to the usual video signal youreceive and transmit. Dual video streamis an optional eature.

    The wonderul thing about this is thatit opens up or presentations o things

    made with tools that require PC-sotware only used by specialists.

    One example could be the results ogeological surveys in the oil business.A survey result presentation can beimportant or crucial decision maing,but how do you show this to peoplelocated thousands o miles apart?

    The answer is simple; hoo up your PCto the video system, set it up or dualvideo stream and give your presentationas the second video stream!

    Details about dual video stream usagecan be ound in the article Utilizing

    dual video stream.

    The exact loo o the screen duringa dual video stream session isdetermined by the Setting the displaylayout.

    Point-topoint vs. MultiSite

    The termpoint-topointreers to avideo meeting with no more that twoparties.

    Conerences consisting o severalparticipants are either:

    MultiSite, which reers to a videoconerence using your video systemsbuilt-in conerence capabilities, or

    MultiWay, which reers to video coner-ences using external inrastructure.

    MultiSite and Multiway calls

    In MultiSite and Multiway calls (i.e.video conerences with more thantwo participants) the term Far End willloose its meaning since it will not beunambiguous whom we reer to.

    This means that some eatures normallyavailable during point-topoint callslie ar end camera controlwont beavailable during MultiSite calls.

    About near end and ar endIn a point-topoint video call, your sideis the near endand the other partyrepresents the far end.

    Controlling the camera

    Most, but not all, o the TANDBERGmeeting room video systems havecameras that can be controlled rom theremote control.

    The TANDBERG Centric 1000 MXP,Compass, and Utility have xed camerasthat cannot be moved. Focus can,however, be adjusted manually.

    The TANDBERG Tactical MXP andCentric 1700 MXP both have a camerathat can be moved up and down. Focus

    is adjusted manually even on these.When you are in a point-topoint callyou may also be able to control the arend camera, provided that the ar endsystem has a remotely controllablecamerasee the chapter In-calleatures.

    Controlling cameras at both ends

    During a call you may control yourown camera at all times by means othe Arrow eys as long as no menu isshown on the screen.

    When you are in a point-topoint callyou may also be able to control the arend camera, provided that the ar endsystem has a remotely controllablecamera. This is explained in the chapter

    Using camera control

    What is Selview?

    The term Selfviewmeans the outgoingimage. In a normal video call using themain camera, this will be the image oyoursel. The Selview button togglesthe images between Far End, Selfviewand Dual Video Stream (i applicable).

    Using Selview outside calls

    Pressing the Selview ey will switchbetween the near end video and a

    blan screen (or a logo, i uploaded byyour administrator) on the main monitor.

    Selview and Point-topoint

    In a point-topoint call, press theSelview ey once to switch rom arend video to near end video to seea ull screen picture o the outgoingvideo. Press Selview again to go bacto normal.

    Point-topoint and dual stream

    In a point-topoint call with a dual videostream, the duo video is displayed inthe big picture. Press the Selviewbutton to toggle to the near end picture,then the ar end picture, and nallybac to the second video stream.

    Sometimes there are many persons inthe room during a video meeting. Tomae the person speaing easier to seeit can be a good idea to zoom in on thatperson.

    To mae the zoom-in somewhat asterand more elegant, you may employ thepredened camera presets eature.These presets contain inormationabout in which direction the camerashould point as well as about the zoomsetting. This is something you typicallywill prepare beore the video meeting

    starts.The eature applies to endpoints withcameras that can be controlled romthe remote control only. Consequently,camera presets are NOT available or:

    TANDBERG Centric 1000 MXP

    TANDBERG Centric 1700 MXP

    TANDBERG Tactical MXP

    TANDBERG Compass/Utility

    For the other MXP endpoints a total o15 presets (014) can be dened.

    Dening camera presetsUse camera presets to make a quick move and zoom with the camera to see the person speaking

    Preset No. 1

    Preset No. 2

    Preset No. 3

    Use theArroweys to move thecamera as described on the previouspage.

    Then determine whichpreset number on theremote control the positionshall be assigned toand press and hold thecorresponding ey or morethan one second.

    The current cameraposition is now stored as apreset.

    Storing camera presets as 09

    In the main menu, movecursor to the CameraControl icon and press theOKey

    In the submenuappearing, move thecursor to the Save NewCamera Preset iconand press the OKey

    Fill in the Preset Number (014) andoptionally a Preset Name to mae thingseasier to remember and to use.

    Select Save and press OKto leave menu putting changes intoeect, or select Cancel to leave undoing any changes.

    Use as PC screen

    I you want to use the video systemscreen as your PC screen, werecommend that your systemadministrator sets Use Screen as LocalPC monitor to On. How to do this isdescribed in the Administrator Guide orthis product.

    This implies that you can displayyour PC locally while having a videoconerence, and you can eep onworing without rising that the ar

    end can see whats on your PC screen.We also recommend to have the AutoLayout setting set to On (deault) to geta suitable layout when toggling romthe local PC displaymode to standardvideo conerence mode.

    Use the Selview ey to togglebetween local PC display mode andstandard video conerence mode. Anindicator tells you that your PC image isdisplayed locally.

    Picture in Picture (PIP)

    When Picture Layout is set to PIP, theLayout ey maes it possible to seea second image in a smaller view inone o the corners o the screen. Thesecond image will be placed on top othe main image. You are ree to choosein which corner the second image isto be displayed (press the Layout eyrepeatedly).

    Picture outside Picture (POP)

    When Picture Layout is set to POP, theLayout ey maes it possible to seeup to three images in a compositionoptimized or wide screens. The secondimage can be displayed either as aside-byside the main image (1+1) orsmaller images next to the main image(1+2 and 1+3).

    Press the Layout ey once to get aside-by-side view (1+1). Press againto get the layouts 1+2 and 1+3, and

    nally go bac to ull screen view. Youcan also go bac to ull screen directlyby pressing and holding Layout or 1second.

    Entering standby modeAbout standby

    The system will automatically go tostandby mode when it is not in use. Instandby mode, the screen(s) will turnblac. It is, however, still possible toreceive incoming calls.

    The standby mode o the systemshould be enabled i the system is to belet idle.

    Standby is not activated byswitching o the power to the

    monitor(s). Some TANDBERGsystems come with monitors thatcannot be switched o.

    I the system is set to be usingthe screen as PC display, thestandby mode will be disabledwhen the system detects avideo signal rom the PC. Whenthe PC video signal no longer isdetected, the standby mode willbe re-enabled.

    Leaving standby mode

    When the system is in standby, pic upthe remote control or press any ey toactivate the system again.

    Standby

    Outside a call, press OKtoproduce the main menu, ineeded, and navigate to theStandby icon.

    Press the OKey.

    To enter standby mode hereand now, navigate to the

    Standby Now icon and pressthe OKey.

    However, i you instead want to postpone (delay) the standby or 1 hour or 3hours, you should select one o the other icons beore pressing the OKey.

    When the system asks or codes

    When the system ass or accesscodes, a dialog box will appear,prompting you to enter a valid code.

    Use the remote control to enter thecode. Note that the system expects textentries, similar to when using a mobilephone to send text messages (sms)see or details.

    Your TANDBERG system may, or maynot, have been set up to requireaccess codes to be typed in beore acall can be made.

    Access codes are used or two things:

    Call restrictions. These may beapplied by installing a le o validaccess codes that must be enteredto permit calls to be made. Thisinstallation is typically made romTMS (TANDBERG ManagementSuiteavailable separately).

    Billing opportunities. Assume thatan access code is needed wheneveryou mae a call. Your company mayhave dierent access codes or thedierent clients o your company.

    Then, the access code used maybe piced up by TMS to generatestatistics on who is calling whom,when, and or how long time.

    This inormation may later ormthe basis or billing clients ordepartments. Observe that in thiscase there will be no strict need orinstalling an access code le on yoursystemTMS will still have access tothe codes you have assigned to thecalls. In this case any code enteredwill be considered valid.

    O course, the two applications may becombined to orm a billing system withcall restrictions. This will then become asystem that acts as orced billing.

    Access codes should be activated byyour system administrator.

    Video vs. telephone calls

    Beore you mae a video or telephonecall, mae sure the system call type isset up accordingly.

    What type o calls the system hasbeen set up to right now is indicatedby a little icon to the let o the CallSettings eld:

    In order to change the setting, youmust navigate to that icon:

    Menu detailsAbout call settings

    Normally, you would leave it up to thesystem to decide the optimal settingsor a call, but sometimes a littletweaing may be benecial. For thispurpose there is a set o call settingsthat you may utilize to orce a call to bethe way you want.

    These settings are:

    Choosing between ISDN, H.323 andSIP as networ and protocol to beused.

    Bandwidth restrictions, i needed.Once you have dened these callsettings you may set these to serve asdeault call settings rom now.

    Altering call settings beore calling

    To gain access to the Net(wor) settings, navigate to this andpress the OKey to expand it. You will then have the ollowingoptions:

    Auto. Leaves it up to the system to decide what to use(recommended).

    ISDN. For ISDN capable systems only.

    H.323. For H.323-based communication.

    SIP. For SIP-based communication.

    System. Dened by your administrator. Allows prexes and

    sufxes or use with additional inrastructure equipment to beadded automatically.

    To gain access to the Bandwidth settings, navigate to this

    and press the OKey to expand it. You will then have theollowing options:

    Auto. Leaves it up to the system to decide what to use(recommended).

    Dened by you. Choose between 64, 128, 192, 256, 320,384,512 or 768 [bps]

    Max. The highest rate possible.

    Restrict (56K). Used in the US to restrict the bandwidth whenever needed while

    communicating using ISDN.Set as Deault. Once you have made a set o settings, you may let these settings becomethe deault settings rom now on.

    Navigate to OK and press the OKey to leave the menu putting changes into eect, or toCancel and press the OKey to leave menu undoing any changes made.

    You end an ongoing call in the sameway as you do when using a mobilephone by pressing the red End Calley on the remote control. This willproduce the Call menu.

    Note! Switching o the monitor(s) usingthe power on/o switch on the monitorwill not end an ongoing call. Somesystems even come with monitors thatcannot be switched o!

    Ending conerence calls

    Ending a MultiSite call can only be doneby the host. The host is the party thatinitiated the video conerence.

    The other parties can disconnectthemselves rom the conerence at anytime, but they have no inuence on therest o the conerence.

    To end one or a ew o the calls in aMultiSite video conerence, navigate tothe name o the call to be terminatedand terminate that specic connectionas i it were a simple point-to-point call.

    When someone calls youAnswering an incoming call can beautomated i you so wish, or youcan have the system set up so that itrequires that you physically accept theincoming call by pressing the greenCalley on the remote control or thecorresponding icon on the screen.

    About incoming calls and privacy

    You may want to set up your systemso that the microphone is switched owhenever you receive an incoming call.

    The yellow Microphone Ofey onthe remote control can be operatedto prevent callers rom hearing youwithout your control. Press again toreactivate the microphone.

    I the system is set up to automaticallyaccept incoming calls with themicrophone set to On, this is calledsetting Autoanswer to On.

    Your system may, however, be setup so that it automatically accepts anincoming call, but with the microphoneswitched o. This is called settingAutoanswer to On + Mic Oand willrequire that you switch the microphonebac on manually each time someonecalls you.

    To urther increase the sense oprivacy, you may also have your systemset up so that you always must answerall incoming calls manually.

    These settings are parts o theControl Panel Settings available.Your administrator may, or may not,

    have password protection activatedto prevent unauthorized alterations othese and other settings. I in doubt,consult your administrator.

    A message will be sent to the ar endwhenever you have disabled yourmicrophone and/or your camera.

    An alternative to this could be theuse o the do not disturb eature (nextpage).

    Want a dierent ring tone?

    You are not stuc with the audio signalalerting you that an incoming call is onits way. This may be changed in theAudio Settings in the Control Panelsection. Note that these settings mayhave been password protected by youradministrator.

    Answering an incoming call

    Using Do Not Disturb

    Use the eature as ollows:

    1. Outside a call, press the red EndCalley. In the menu then appearing,navigate to the Do Not Disturb icon:

    2. Press the OKey to activate this

    eature. The screen will turn blacand the text Press any key to clearDo Not Disturb will be shown.

    3. To reset the unction, do just that(press any ey).

    There is a do not disturb unctionavailable on your system. When set toOn, all incoming calls are bloced romyour system.

    Let us assume that the do not disturbunction has not been activated.Choosing Do Not Disturb (as shown tothe let) when receiving an incomingcall will then do two things: It rejectsthe incoming call (in the same way aschoosing Reject), and sets the do notdisturb unctionality to On.

    I you activate Do Not Disturb whilst in

    a call, this will bloc incoming calls oras long as your call is going on.

    Whenever the do not disturb unctionhas been activated, the ar end will beinormed that the called is busy.

    Setting up or streamingStreaming lets you broadcast yourmeeting to participants on theweb. The web participants can viewthe meeting, listen to the meeting,see snapshots, but not participatethemselves. Snapshots o currentstream, selview, ar end and dual videostreams are accessible via http.

    The streaming source setting is notavailable when streaming only issupported outside a call.

    Streaming settingsAddress. This is dened as theIP-address o a streaming client,streaming server or a multicastaddress. Giving an address in therange 224.0.0.1239.255.255.255 willbroadcast the stream to any host thathas joined the specied multicast group.Speciying normal broadcast address255.255.255.255 will broadcast to anymembers on the LAN.

    Address Port. I several codecs arestreaming to the same IP-address,

    dierent ports have to be used in orderor the client to now which stream toreceive. I the rst codec streams onport 2240 and the second codec on port2250, the client has to speciy whichport to listen to. Video is transmitted onthe specied port; audio is transmittedon the port number 4 greater than thespecied video port, in this case 224444and 2254.

    TTL/Router Hops. This is used orstreaming data to limit how manyrouters the data should pass beore it isrejected. I TTL is set to 2, data will nottraverse more than 2 router hops.

    Streaming Source. The source used orstreaming.

    Auto: Enables streaming o both localand ar end video. Selection o whichsite to be streamed is done usingvoice switching (the site that speas isstreamed).

    Local: Only the local video will bestreamed.

    Remote: Only the ar end video will bestreamed.

    Local and ar end audio is alwaysstreamed.

    StreamingPart 1: Setting up to broadcast your meeting to participants on the web

    Viewing the streamed content

    Ater streaming is started, an easy wayto view the streamed audio/video on

    your PC, is to start your web browserand enter the IP-address o thestreaming system.

    Once the web page o the systemis shown, clic on Streaming.Alternatively, enter http:///showstream.ssi.

    I in doubt, consult your systemadministrator.

    StreamingPart 2: Broadcasting your meeting to participants on the web

    Whilst in a call, press the green Calley on theremote control and navigate to Streaming

    Press the OKey to produce the Streamingsubmenu. Navigate to Start Streaming and pressthe OKey

    During streaming the Start Streaming icon will change to StopStreaming. Select this icon and press the Ok ey to stop streaming.

    Ending your call will also halt the streaming.

    Calling two others simultaneously The MultiSite capability is an optionaleature in many TANDBERGsystems. This eature gives you thepossibility o arranging video meetingsby calling several others and have youall connected together simultaneously.For more on this, see About videoconerences.

    Video systems notequipped withMultiSite may still call another partywhen already in a call.

    Thus you may even here have twocalls running at the same time. Note

    that the two parties will not be able tocommunicate with each other, only withyou and only one at a time. The eaturerequires H.323 or SIP to wor.

    I you are not sure whether your systemhas this eature, contact your systemadministrator.

    When you mae an additional call, theparty called rst will be temporarilysuspended. The message Please waitwill appear on the screen o the partysuspended.

    You may switch between the twoparties you have called by navigating to

    the lowermost line in the main menu asshown on this page.

    This eature is not available on systemswith MultiSite installed.

    Both calls made must be SIP or H.323in order to mae this eature wor. Thiseature is available on non-MultiSitesystems only. I in doubt, as yoursystem administrator.

    Calling two others at the same timeNon-MultiSite systems only!

    I you selectAdd anotherCall during a call(press the OKeyon the remotecontrol during thecall) and thenpress the OKey again

    the call currently active will betemporarily be set On Hold, whichcan be seen rom this line.

    Call the second partymanually or by means othe phone boo in the usualmanner.

    To switch

    To terminate just

    Conerence calls Video conerencing systems quippedwith the optional built-in MultiSitecan handle several video calls andtelephone-only calls simultaneously.How many depends on the type oTANDBERG video system you are using.

    You may set up a video meeting withmany participants in advance and/or you may add participants duringa conerence. This is called to addanother call.

    Some TANDBERG systems useIP (Internet Protocol) or videocommunication, while others use ISDNas well as IP.

    Observe that in order to be able tocommunicate with 3G mobile phonesand to enable communication betweenISDN- and IP-based systems, accessto additional unctionality hardware maybe required.

    Consult your system administrator oryour TANDBERG representative ordetails.

    How many participants?

    This depends on the conguration oyour TANDBERG system. The largersystems have an optional built-in MCU(Multi Conerence Unit) opening upor 46 simultaneous participants plusextras on voice-only (telephone), whilethe smaller systems do not have this

    eature at all.All systems can, however, beconnected to a networ containingexternal MCUs. These MCUs arecapable o running several videoconerences with many participantseach, simultaneously. read more aboutthis on the next page

    Adding calls to a conerenceThe MultiSite eature

    Conerence systems with the optionalbuilt-in MultiSite can handle up to 46video calls and up to 3 telephone callssimultaneously, depending on thesystem.

    You may set up a video meeting withmany participants in advance and/or you may add participants duringa conerence. This is called to addanother call.

    Observe that the ability to add anothercall is an optional eature, which yoursystem may, or may not, be equippedwith.

    Systems without this option will nothave the Add Another Call icon in themenus.

    The Multiway eature

    However, your system may be equippedwith the MultiWay eature. This eatureallows you to set up conerences withmany participants rom your videosystem.

    MultiWay enables systems with noconerence option installed to runcomplex video conerences with manyparticipants.

    The MultiWay eature requires thepresence o an external MCU (MultiConerence Unit) and the TANDBERGVCS (Video Communication Server).The MCU will run the conerence oryou, i your system does not support

    conerencing.

    Consult your system administrator toclariy whether this eature exists inyour system, i needed.

    Using phone book group entries

    I you dislie the idea o having toloo up each and every party to callevery time you are about initiate aconerence, you may lie to now thatyou may add group entries to the phoneboo.

    This is a handy eature whenever youwant to set up meetings with the samegroup requently.

    About video conerencesPart 2: Adding calls to a conerence

    Assuming that you already are in a call, press the OKey to produce the main menu,which now loos slightly dierent:

    Select this iconand press the OKey to start addingparticipants

    The one you are already in call with.

    Enter new numberhere.

    Select this icon and pressthe OKey to open thephone boo as usual.

    Once you have entered the second party to call, select thegreen Call icon and press the OKey, just press the green Calley on the remote control.

    The Add Another Callicon.

    Repeat this process or as long as necessary (until theupper limit is reached or your system, o course).

    You may also use the Add Another Call icon to speciyeveryone to be called beore you actually call them.

    Entering the phone book

    Calling an entry

    Once an entry is located, just press theOKey to have the entry inserted in theCall menu and proceed by pressing thegreen Calley or via the green icon inthe menu as usual.

    Navigating in the phone book

    Basic navigation in the phone boois done in the usual way by means otheArroweys o the remote controlas well as the OKand Canceleys.

    When positioned at a line with asmall arrowhead appended, pressthe OKey to go one level down.Repeat, i needed, i there are morelevels.

    Whenever you are at a lower level,the uppermost line contains theoption o going Backjust navigateto this eld and press the OKey.

    Your TANDBERG video systemcontains a phone boo unctionality,which is very similar to what you nd ina mobile phone.

    It contains lists o calls placed,calls missed and calls received.Furthermore, it has a section in whichyou can add your own list o contacts,and most corporate solutions will alsoinclude a corporate phone list.

    This latter list is normally installed andmaintained rom remote by your systemadministrator through a managementsystem lie the TANDBERGManagement Suite (TMS), which isavailable separately.

    You cannot edit the corporate listyoursel, but you may import any

    number o entries to My Contacts.Once imported they may, however, beedited ad libitum.

    Changes in the corporate list made byyour system administrator, will not aectthe My Contacts list, so you may haveto chec and compare your own list tothe corporate list rom time to time.

    Entries in My Contacts can becombined in groups, so that you cancall an entire group simultaneouslywhen you are about to be hosting avideo conerence.

    Enter the search string (the entry you arelooing or) and press the OKey or move

    Adding a new contact rom scratch

    I you want to add an entry directly romany o the call logs, do as ollows:

    1. Go to the log, in which the entry tobe added resides.

    2. Navigate to that particular entry.

    3. From that entry navigate let anddown to the New icon.

    4. Press the OKey and the entry willnow be stored in My Contacts.

    Copying rom the corporatephone book

    This is done in exactly the same way aswhen adding a new contact rom any othe call logs:

    Go to where the entry to be copiedresides and do as described above.

    New contacts can be addedmanually, rom the call log or by

    copying rom the corporate phoneboo (i existing). New contacts canbe added to My Contacts only. Otherentries are entered by you systemadministrator.

    I you do video conerencing with manyparticipants on a regular basis, you maywant to create groups o contacts to beable to call them all in one go. Groupscan only be made rom entries alreadyin the My Contacts list.

    Adding new contactsContacts can be added manually or copied rom phone book and call logs

    Once you haveselected theentry to beadded to MyContacts, moveto this icon andpress the OKey.

    To be able to add new contactsyou must have opened the phoneboo and be located within MyContacts

    Editing an entry

    Discarding an entry

    Entries in My Contacts and in any o thecall logs may be discarded at any time.

    Do as ollows:

    1. Go to where the entry to bediscarded resides, this can only beone o the call logs or My Contacts.

    2. Navigate to that particular entry.

    3. From that entry navigate let anddown to the Delete icon:

    Once you haveselected theentry to bediscarded,move to thisicon and pressthe OKey.

    4. Press the OKey and the ollowingdialog box will appear:

    5. Press the OKey to leave menuundoing any changes.

    You may edit and delete entries in MyContacts any time. Since updates

    in the corporate phone boo(s) madeby your system administrator will notaect My Contacts, you may have touse this eature rom time to time whencorporate phone boo changes aremade.

    Observe that you cannot edit any otherparts o your phone boo except thecontents o your call logs, all o whichentries can be copied to My Contacts(as described on the previous page) or

    they can be discarded.

    Editing existing entriesContact inormation can be updated or removed rom the phone book

    Editing can only tae place amongentries in My Contacts.

    About Multisite and Multisite entries

    Assume that you requently use your video system to setup MultiSite video meetings involving the same personsevery time.

    Wouldnt it be nice to be able to set up the video meetingwith just a ew clics?

    Enter MultiSite Contacts. You may assign contacts alreadyin your phone boo to a MultiSite group. This group willin turn orm a MultiSite Contact. When setting up a videoconerence, all members o a particular MultiSite Contactwill then be connected automatically, so you wont have tocall them one by one!

    My Contacts can hold up to 50 MultiSites Contacts.

    Using ar end camera control

    This is a eature that lets you pan, tilt and zoom the ar endcamera. IFar end presets are available, you may accessthese as well. This eature requires an electrically movablecamera at the ar endi.e. communication between e.g.two TANDBERG 1700 MXP units will not provide ar endcamera control since the camera on this model is subjectto manual movements only.

    This eature is not accessible in MultiSite video meetings,since the term far endwill loose its meaning when there aremore than two parties in a call.

    Using near end camera controlProvided that your own video system has a camera that canbe controlled rom the remote control, you may, o course,

    just as well control your own camera during a call.

    To utilize near end camera control:

    Do as described in the Figs 15, but be sure to selectthe Near End tab in Fig. 2 instead.

    This eature is always accessible, irrespective o whether youare in point-topoint calls or in MultiSite calls.

    Using camera controlPan, tilt and zoom the ar end camera (and your own)

    Using ar end presetsThe ar end may use camerapresets to easily vary betweenpredened camera angles in theirown end. Thus they eliminate theneed to move their camera about ina manual way.

    Your video system may get accessto these settings. I no presetshave been stored and you try toaccess ar end presets, nothing willhappen.

    This eature is not accessible in

    MultiSite video meetings, since theterm far endwill loose its meaningwhen there are more than twoparties in a call.

    Using near end presets

    I your system supports camerapresets, you may dene suchpresets in advance, seeDening camera presets or moreon this.

    The advantage o using camerapresets lies primarily in the abilityto have the camera jump directly toa predened angle and ocus.

    I you assign a preset to everypersons physical position, youmay switch between these viewsas people tal in order to provide aclose-up o the person taling.

    Some meeting rooms include awhiteboard. Assigning a preset to

    show the whiteboard will save timeand eort every time the whiteboard is used or a presentation.

    To utilize your near end presets:

    Do as described in the Figs 15, butbe sure to select the Near End tabin Fig. 2 instead.

    This eature is always accessible,irrespective o whether you are inpoint-topoint calls or in MultiSitecalls.

    In a call, the numerical eypad othe remote control can be used to

    access the 9 rst presets directly.Just push the correspondingnumerical ey. This will not wori you are in a menu expectingalphanumeric entries.

    Using camera presetsMove the ar end camera (and your own) using presets

    1. While in a call, press the OKey to producethe main menu and then navigate to theCamera Control icon

    5. A total o 15 (numbered014) presets areavailable. To accessPresets 714 navigate toMore Camera Presetsand press OK. To exit thismode select Backandpress OKin the usualmanner.

    2. Then press the OKey and navigate to theFar End tab to control the ar end presetsand to the Near End tab to control yourown presets

    3. Now, navigate down to the Camera Presetsicon o the selectedtab to prepare to controlthe presets (Far end is used in this example)

    Running a presentation

    I you need to speciy the presentation source

    The presentation unctionality in thesystem enables you to show other

    available video sources in addition toyour main camera.

    This is perect or meetings whereyou would lie to show a PowerPointpresentation, or example. You caneven useArroweys up and down onthe remote control to activate Page Up/Down on the PC (this applies whenusing VNConly).

    You can also use the presentationeature outside a call to mae a localpresentation or the people in your own

    meeting room and when you are in acall use it to mae a presentation or thear end as well.

    The quicest way to show a presentationis to use the Presentation ey onthe remote control. Pressing thePresentation ey causes a predenedvideo source to be shown, PC is thedeault.

    Use dual video stream i possible

    Video systems equipped with the

    optional dual video stream providesthe opportunity to show two dierentlive video streams simultaneously, mainvideo and one additional source. Thisis handy when showing a presentation.You will then let the others see the livepresentation along with the live video othe presentersimultaneously.
