Leaving NYC to B.A. Friday night, April 24th ~ Arriving in BA April 25th Returning to NYC Saturday night May 2nd ~ Arriving in NYC Sunday May 3rd As a born Porteño who lives in Buenos Aires part of the year, I decided to organize this Buenos Aires Tour for you with a mix of tango, city, culture and a little bit of out-of-the-city exploration. Why? Because nobody knows the city like me (both at daytime and night), and I wanted to share with you what this beautiful city has to offer, both tango and otherwise. I chose this time of the year for the tour considering the best weather to dance in the milongas and walk the streets of the city. And as a bonus, the air tickets are very affordable at those dates, and even more so if you purchase them soon! (Direct flights from NY -as well as other US cities- to BA are less then $1,000 if you book now!)

So, pack your tango and walking shoes, and let's start the tour: Saturday April 25th: You will arrive in BA at 4am (if you fly directly with Argentinian Airlines) and I will pick you up from the airport with a taxi. If you choose to travel with another company and arrive at a different time, I will send a taxi to pick you up. Upon your arrival, you will have the option of going directly to your hotel or come to my apartment to have breakfast watching the BA sunrise and drinking lemoncello or champagne. You can't get more porteno than that! (Your hotel, Caseron Porteño , is located in Palermo Hollywood and has a tango studio that we will use for classes and practicas)

On our first day, we will visit Palermo Soho (a chique neighboorhood with tons of coffee shops and shopping), the famous "El Rosedal" with a huge variety of roses from all around the world, Bosques de Palermo, and La Recoleta where we will be visiting the Recoleta cemetery (where Evita's tomb is located), known to be one of the world's most beautiful and unique cemeteries. To relax and get energy for our first night of dancing, we will have dinner at the Club De Milanesas, because you cannot have the complete porteno experience without eating a well-dressed milanesa at least once!. Dinner will always be at one of my favorite and affordable restaurants in the city where you will pay for your own meal (Lunch and dinner combine should not be more than $25 a day).

After dinner, you may choose to go to sleep early or join me to go milonguear at Villa Malcolme or La Viruta. (Tables with a great location are guaranteed!)

Sunday April 25th: After breakfast, we will visit La Confiteria Ideal (maybe we dance a few tangos early in the afternoon in this beautiful place, if we're lucky we can even have live music), La Catedral de Buenos Aires, La Casa Rosada, La Boca and San Telmo, where we will watch some shows and dance a few tandas at the outdoor milonga of my friend El Indio at Plaza Dorrego.

After dinner we will go to my friend Carlos Stasi's milonga "Porteño y Bailarin", and if you are still not tired after (I know some of you!) we will go to La Viruta for the last steps of the night. Monday April 26th After breakfast, we will have a 1-hour class with a famous milonguero followed by a little practica where we will work on "how to dance like a porteno in BA." In the afternoon, it will be time for some serious tango shoe shopping (I will help you to get the best dollar exchange in BA!).

After shopping, we will head to "Museo Evita" where we will have dinner. At night to milonguear in the famous Salon Canning... Tuesday April 27th After breakfast, we will venture outside BA, visiting the beautiful "El Tigre" where we will take a boat to visit the islands and have lunch overlooking the boats at the river. El Tigre is also a great shopping site! After dinner you may choose to rest or go dancing! Wednesday April 28th After breakfast, we will have a class with a famous milonguero followed by a practica. In the afternoon, we will visit "El Teatro Colon", Plaza San Martin, Puerto Madero with his famous "Puente de La Mujer", and after that we will take a relaxing walk though "La Reserva Ecologica de Buenos Aires". After dinner, we will go dancing to La Milonguita and if you still have energy to La Viruta after. Thursday April 29th After breakfast, you will have the chance to have the afternoon off (maybe to go to buy more tango shoes!).. or come with me to

visit "Calle de Mayo", "El Congreso" and to stop at the famous "Cafe Tortoni" for a coffee and medialunas.

At night, finally it's time for a true "asado" (Argentinian BBQ) in Carlos' terrace, where you will see me cooking for you the best meat in town! Vegetarian? Don't worry, I will have something porteno for you also, just let me know... :-) I don't think we will have energy to dance after this party!

Friday May 1st After breakfast, we will have a final class with a famous milonguero/a, followed by a little practica. If you feel like like visiting another Museum, I will take you to my favorite one, MALBA. Or you will decide where you want to go and I will take you there :) After dinner, we will go milonguear to my friend Miguel Romero's milonga at "El Fulgor" and after to "La Viruta". Saturday May 2nd This will be the last day of the tour, if you still have to buy presents we will go to Plaza Serrano (Palermo Soho) to get them. I will pick you up in the afternoon (or at night if you are traveling with another air company) to take you to the airport . You will need to purchase your own health insurance in case you need it. The organizer of this tour is not responsible for any accident or the need to visit a doctor at the time of the tour. (Of course I will be there for you in case of need). Because of the weather and unexpected reasons the itinerary can be change. So, are you ready ?

Deposit is required for registration (and is not refunded) asap, and the balance is

due 1 month before the trip.

If you want to book your own hotel, let me know.

I promise you that you will have a great time! For more information: Carlos Duarte de Chey 917.406.7973 (USA) 4802.1826 (BA) [email protected]
