Day 3: Sunday 3rd June 2018 | In Lake Manyara
After a good relaxed breakfast at the Lodge, we will make our tour into the Lake Manyara National Park which is inhabited by over 390 birds species both migrants and residents including thousands of pink-hued flamingos on their perpetual migration as well as other large water birds such as pelicans, cormorants and storks. Tree climbing Lion are occasionally spotted as well as large herd of Elephants, Buffalos and a high population of Hippopotamus. The Lake in the middle of the park forms one of the most spectacular sights. For the majority of the year, the climate at Lake Manyara, like the rest of the parks in the northern circuit, is warm and dry - average daytime temperature does not fluctuate far from 30°C (86°F), and the evenings can cool off to around 10-14°C (50-58°F). The warmest months are December to February while June to August is cool.
We may start with a Treetop Walkway excursion at a fee ($75pp). This 400m canopy walk starts with a short board-walk that gradually rises from ground level up through the canopy of the forest. We walk over series of suspension bridges with thick netting on the sides, and reach a height of 18m off the ground. This is Tanzania's first Treetop Walkway and one of the longest in Africa. It offers a unique birds-eye view of the world around you. Enjoy life in the canopy amongst butterflies, monkeys and birds. We will then proceed with game drive through the park up to the Boardwalk way: An impressive wooden trail that meanders through the hot springs and lakeshore around a marsh and finally into the lake and gives unique view and wonderful photo opportunity. Finally the Hippo Pool view point: From this platform top we can have a spectacular view of the rift valley wall, marshland, waterfowls and animals.

Day 5: Tuesday 5th June 2018 | In Western Serengeti
Today we can seize the opportunity to take a dawn Hot Air Balloon Safari (Self-paid and Booked in advance at
$600pp), an extraordinary adventure, launching at dawn, rising as the sun rises, and gently float over the plains
of the magnificent and famous Serengeti National Park, which is considered to be the most beautiful area in the
world for a balloon flight with its enchanting scenery and vistas. Optionally, after breakfast this morning we will
spend full day in the Western Serengeti with morning and afternoon game viewing drives.
The Serengeti is famed for its annual migration when some six million hooves pound the open plains, as more than
200,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelle join the wildebeest’s trek for fresh grazing. Aside from the great
migration, the Serengeti offers a diverse ecosystem and contains the largest remaining concentration of plains
game in Africa, on a scale which has no parallel anywhere in the world. The abundance of herbivores includes
wildebeest, zebra, gazelle, topi, buffalo, elephant, giraffe, and hartebeest, to name but a few. Serengeti is also
famous for lion and contains other carnivores and a wide variety of birdlife, believed to be in the region of 350
species. Even during the height of the migration towards the Maasai Mara, there is a huge concentration of plains
game in the Reserve, mainly concentrated around the watering places, and with good chances also of seeing the
predators at work. All meals and overnight at Kirawira Serena Camp

We will enjoy more of the game viewing as we drive and move into the central part of the Serengeti and check in
at Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge which is set high on the saddle of a tree-clad ridge, commanding panoramic
views across the plains. This lodge is the ultimate fusion of traditional African architecture and world-class style.
Winner of numerous awards from the world travel press, it is perhaps the finest venue the Serengeti has to offer.
Centrally located adjacent to the famous Western Corridor and Grumeti River, the lodge has been designed to
blend completely into the living landscape. A series of traditional domed ‘rondavels' are widely spaced
throughout the grounds, which are cooled by groves of acacia trees and watered by sparkling streams. On the
very edge of the ridge is a ‘vanishing horizon' pool, which looks out over the ‘endless plains' after which the
Serengeti is named.
