Day 1: Fly Overnight to Ireland

Day 2: Killarney

Arrive in Shannon and Transfer to Killarney via Bunratty

Arrive in KillarneyTransfer through County Kerry to the Killarney region, gateway to theIveragh Peninsula. Enjoy the beautiful countryside in an area formedby glacial action following the last Ice Age.

Day 3: Killarney

Excursion to the Ring of KerryExperience the mystical beauty of Ireland as you journey the 112miles around the Iveragh Peninsula, better known as the Ring ofKerry. Encounter magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean, the Lakesof Killarney, and Macgillycuddy's Reeks (the tallest mountains inIreland) as you traverse one of Europe's most spectacular coastalroutes.

Visit the Bog MuseumLearn more about the formation and farming of the local landscapeand its importance to the local way of life as you stop along the Ringof Kerry close to Glenbeigh. The bogs, or peat as they are locallycalled, still provide one of the central sources of power in the region.The museum is a scaled recreation of an 18th century village, allowingclearer insight into local culture and tradition.

Day 4: Killarney | Dublin

Transfer to Dublin via a Visit to Blarney CastleToday you'll visit Blarney Castle. To reach the legendary stone and toreceive the "gift of the gab," you'll have to climb the steps of thecastle, lean backward under the parapet wall and kiss the stoneupside down. You'll also see the ancient ruins of the Rock of Cashel.Founded by a follower of St. Patrick, the rock was once a strongholdfor Brian Boru and other Irish kings.

Arrive in DublinArrive in literary Dublin, one-time home of James Joyce, GeorgeBernard Shaw, Samuel Beckett, and W. B. Yeats! Dublin is also thesetting for Joyce's Ulysses, one of the 20th century's greatest literaryworks. In recent years Dublin has also developed as one of Europe'sbusiest entertainment centers.

Day 5: Dublin

Guided Sightseeing of DublinBegin your tour of the Irish capital by viewing some of Dublin'scelebrated Georgian squares. From here you will visit St. Patrick'sCathedral to see the beautiful interior and pay tribute to the patronsaint of Ireland. You will then head past the Post Office, site of the1916 rebellion, before continuing along the banks of the River Liffey.Continue your visit in Phoenix Park which houses the residence of the

President of Ireland. Your tour of Dublin concludes with a visit to thecity's renowned Trinity College where playwright Samuel Beckett andsatirist Jonathan Swift studied, and where you'll view the Book ofKells. Irish monks create this calligraphic manuscript over 1,000 yearsago.

Gaelic GamesGaelic music, dance and language have defined what it means to beIrish for millennia-but did you know about the rich (and prehistoric)history of Gaelic games? Unique, rugged and fiercely engaging, thetraditional sports of Gaelic football and hurling are yours to play for ahalf day in Dublin. After a quick lesson behind the history of thegames, you and your students will be out on the field wielding hurleys,hitting sliotars and soloing footballs with friends in your travel group.

Day 6: Dublin | Belfast

Transfer to BelfastTravel to Belfast, a city in transition, and learn how it's redefining itselfafter famously undergoing a period of religious strife in the 1970s and1980s.

Guided Sightseeing of BelfastYour tour of the capital of Northern Ireland allows you to see all of thecity's famed landmarks. Starting at Donegall Square, presided over bythe white stone city hall, you will also pass Belfast Castle with its hugeestate rolling down the slopes of Cave Hill. Later, learn more of recentevents and see the `peace-line' - a blockade of iron that dividesProtestant and Catholic communities.

Visit Titanic BelfastThe Titanic Belfast Museum is a "can't miss" visit in any tour ofNorthern Ireland. It is located in the heart of Belfast, on the slipwayswhere RMS Titanic was built, and offers over nine galleries includingspecial effects, dark rides, full-scale reconstructions and innovativeinteractive features to explore the Titanic story in a fresh and insightfulway. The museum traces the lifespan of the RMS Titanic from herconception in Belfast in the early 1900s, through her construction andlaunch, and finally to her infamous maiden voyage and catastrophicdemise.

Day 7: Belfast | Edinburgh Region

Board a Ferry to CairnryanBoard a ferry which will take you across the North Channel toCairnryan on the west coast of Scotland. From here you will driveinland towards Edinburgh - capital of Scotland.

Transfer to Edinburgh via a Visit to The Robert Burns Cottage andMuseumRobert Burns Birthplace Museum offers a truly unique encounter withScotland's favourite son. Set among 10 acres of the poet's cherishedAlloway countryside, the museum comprises the famous BurnsCottage where the poet was born, the historic landmarks where heset his greatest work, the elegant monument and gardens created inhis honour and a modern museum housing the world's mostimportant collection of his life and works.

Arrive in the Edinburgh RegionTravel to Edinburgh and admire the rolling hills and dazzlingseascapes that surround the Scottish capital. The entire city is built ona series of extinct volcanoes providing an almost lunar environmentcomplemented by varied and subtle architecture.

Day 8: Edinburgh Region

Guided Sightseeing of EdinburghToday, enjoy a sightseeing tour that offers panoramic views ofEdinburgh's New Town, constructed in the 18th century during a timeof rapid expansion, known as the “Scottish Enlightenment.” SeeCharlotte Square, the center of New Town, then pass by the homesof Alexander Graham Bell and Robert Louis Stevenson, and view amonument to Robert Burns, Scotland's national poet. Visit Calton Hill,which offers splendid views of the Firth of Forth to the Lomond Hills ofFife. Pass the Palace of Holyroodhouse, still the Royal Family's officialresidence in Scotland, and the city's monument to Lord Nelson.

Visit to Edinburgh CastleYour guided tour of Edinburgh includes a visit to Edinburgh Castle.Situated atop an extinct volcano, the castle is the enduring symbol ofScotland's capital and home to many of the nation's storied events.Ownership of the fortress changed hands on numerous occasionsover the centuries, from Scottish to English and back again. Mary,Queen of Scots, gave birth in the castle to James VI of Scotland, whowould later rule England as James I. Enter the castle through theEsplanade and see the Stone of Scone, the coronation stone thatwas returned to Scotland in 1997 after 700 years of Englishpossession. You'll also see tiny St. Margaret's Chapel, the oldest partof the castle, dating back to the 11th century.

Walking Tour of EdinburghEdinburgh provided the setting for Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Scottish Ceilidh Show and DinnerKick up your heels and sample traditional Scottish cuisine at thisevening's optional ceilidh! Before the days of bars and dance clubs,people would gather for a ceilidh to dance, sing, or engage in livelydiscussions. Professional performers will teach Scottish dances set topipe music. Enjoy traditional sword dancing and try local fare likehaggis, neeps and tatties. Dinner is included this evening.

Day 9: Edinburgh Region | West Highlands

Transfer to the Highlands via Stirling and the Trossachs

Visit Stirling CastleThere has been a castle fortification in Stirling for over 800 years andtoday you have a chance to explore these varied histories and eras.Learn about the turbulent measures imposed by many Englishinvaders as well as the combined efforts of British forces in 19th and20th century wars overseas.

See the William Wallace MonumentLong before he was portrayed by Mel Gibson in Braveheart, WilliamWallace was a Scottish national hero. Snap a photo in remembranceof the legendary Scotsman.

See the Trossachs and Loch KatrineDuring your time in the Scottish Highlands today, you will see thebeautiful Trossachs Region and the famous Loch Katrine.

Day 11: West Highlands | Glasgow

Transfer to Glasgow via a Visit to the Glencoe Visitor's CentreVisit Glencoe, site of the notorious 1692 massacre of the MacDonaldclan. Here, the fusion of natural beauty and historical preservationoffer some of the most magnificent views in Scotland.
