The Interoperability Directive 2008/57/EC

The Interoperability Directive 2008/57/EC
• Can be broken down into the following subsystems, either:•
– (a) structural areas: • infrastructure, • energy, • control-command and signalling, • rolling stock,
– (b) functional areas: • operation and traffic management, • maintenance, • telematics applications for passenger and freight services.• = TAP and TAF TSI
• Passenger rights legislation (Regulation (EC) n°1371/2007)
– Article 8: railway undertakings and ticket vendors shall inform the passenger before the journey about the accessibility and access conditions for bicycles
• Where can I find the info? • What kind of access conditions?• How can I make a reservation?
TAP – T.S.I. (Regulation 454/2011)
• The information shall be published at least on the official website (PRM)
• Conditions?– Traintypes/lines– particular times/periods– Fares– Reservation
• Availability/reservation request by ticket vendors
TAP (Passengers) – TSI
• systems which provide passengers with information before and during the journey
• reservation and payment systems, • luggage management• management of connections between trains
and with other modes of transport;
• The “technical” parts of the TAP TSI have to be developed by thesector
• Mutual interface with TAF-TSI
