TASFAA President’s Welcome Letter
April 10, 2011
Dear TASFAA Colleagues and Friends:
On behalf of the TASFAA Conference Committee, I am excited to welcome you to the
2011 TASFAA Conference!
As we work to meet the challenges of these uncertain times in our profession, we can be
reassured to know that we have a great network of partners and friends within the financial
aid community on which to rely. This year’s theme “Partners in Progress and Change,”
provides an opportunity for us to realize that we are not alone as we partner together with
TASFAA colleagues to gain knowledge that helps us provide valuable assistance to our
students.
Throughout the conference, you will find sessions designed to benefit everyone, from new
members to experienced ones. We start things off with our New Aid Officers Workshop
and will wrap up our conference with a federal update from Michael Roberts of the U.S.
Department of Education. In between, we have Washington and TSAC updates, a
Grad/Professional School general session, and a wide array of concurrent sessions to keep
you up to date on the latest developments in financial aid.
A special thank you goes to our lending partner colleagues who participate in and support
our conference training efforts. Their financial support is critical to TASFAA. Please stop
by their booths and thank them for their support.
As you participate in the conference training, enjoy some relaxation, and visit with
TASFAA friends and colleagues, it is our hope that your time spent with us will help
you bring everything back “In Focus.”
Sincerely,
Jeff Gerkin
TASFAA Conference Chair
