relying on maintenance and support rom Amdocs Product Support and

recognized the value o Amdocs’ years o experience with OSS environments

and issues.

In addition, with the new Amdocs OSS in place, Tata Communications plans

to take advantage o new eatures such as Amdocs Class o Service capability,

which enables allocation o capacity or IP-based services as they are ulflled.

This will help Tata Communications maintain better visibi lity o resource

usage and attain greater proactive control over service levels. Enhanced

capabilit ies or IP and MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching) network modeling

are also provided in Amdocs OSS 8.

Looking ahead, Amdocs OSS 8 lays the groundwork or the deployment

o other new modules and Tata Communications has the option or Amdocs

Route Finder (or automatic circuit route determination) and Amdocs Class

o Service Manager (or capacity management and trafc partitions).

Rapid, seamless upgrade

The upgrade to Amdocs OSS 8 required custom integrat ions to approx-

imately six back-end legacy systems at Tata Communications. Among other

integrations, the upgrade also called or the porting o the Amdocs OSSSuite Service Assurance Adapter to integrate with Assurance Systems.

Even with this complexity, the entire migration was accomplished in seven

months with only 16 hours o downtime or the migration.

As part o the migration eort, Amdocs perormed a data cleansing process

to enhance the quality o the inventory data. Operational efciency, planning

processes, ulfllment processes and service assurance will all be positively

impacted by this improvement.

customer experience across all touch-points. Making sure that every tech-

nology component is working eectively and is smoothly integrated with other

system components is key to achieving this goal, and this was the ocus o the
