Where is TAS?Our school is close to the tiny village of Maungakaramea. The main attractions in this village are the rugby club, the service station and the hall. As you may guess, not many tourists come here! It’s a cool place!

Cultural activitiesWe have many cultural opportunities at TAS, such as Kapa Haka (they participated in the Tai Tokero festival), concert band and new sound proof music rooms that we can use at lunch time. Many students have made their own bands!

Our school house teams

We have four houses at our school they are Arawa, Tainui, Takitimu and Aotea. We have many house competitions such as Top House, Swimming Sports, Calf Club Day, lots of sports like basketball, badminton and tennis and even a spelling competition. In Top House and Swimming Sports we all get covered in paint. All the houses are very competitive. Arawa usually wins (because we are the best) but sometime Tainui or Aotea will win. Takitimu is usually last.

It was our first place that wasn’t about a hours drive from civilisation. We went to Posonby Intermediate. Do you know them?
