And behold a Canaanite woman of the district came and called out, “Have pity on me, Lord, Son of David! My daughter is tormented by a demon.” But he did not say a word in answer to her. His disciples came and asked him, Send her away, for she keeps calling out after us.” He said in reply, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” But the woman came and did him homage, saying, “Lord, help me.” He said in reply, “It is not right to take the food of the children and throw it to the dogs.” She said, “Please, Lord, for even the dogs eat the scraps that fall from the table of their masters.” Then Jesus said to her in reply, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be done for you as you wish.” And her daughter was healed from that hour. From the Desk of Father Bosco Dear friends, In today’s Gospel, the Canaanite woman was wise to invoke the image of grateful dogs sharing the scraps from their masters’ tables. Because of her faith and persistence, Jesus granted her wish. Faith is a process and it is an ongoing process. We must grow in faith, which means continually learning from the sources of faith, especially the scriptures, but also through personal prayer, community worship and by expressing our faith in service.

When we start to feel satisfied or think we have all the answers that is a sure sign we have stopped growing and are in danger of becoming judgmental and closed to God’s ever-expanding revelation in our lives. Living faith is always seeking ways to adapt itself to changing circumstances and fresh challenges. Faith is a generous gift from God; let us cherish it and express it in multiple ways both within and without.

May God bless you and your loved ones abundantly in the week ahead. Thank you to Tom & Bonnie Nethery who are sponsoring the August $1 Challenge this weekend in loving memory Bob & Helen Schilling & Jane Ubersox. We do not yet have a sponsor for September, please contact the parish office if interested.

HOLY ROSARY SCHOOL

“For the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable.” ROMANS 11:29

God has a special mission in mind for each of us. He has given us the gifts we need to accomplish that mission. We are called to be good stewards by using those gifts to do the work that He has planned for each of us. If we deny our gifts or fail to use them as God calls us to use them, then some part of His work will be left undone.

☺Accepting enrollment; contact principal, Diane Smith-Hole at 776-3710. ☺School resumes Wed, August 27!

OUR CALL TO STEWARDSHIP THIS WEEK’S MASSES & EVENTS

Apostolate to the Handicapped,

WISC-TV Channel 3, Sundays at 7:00am.

OUR MERGING PARISHES________________ Our parishes of Holy Rosary, St. Peter, Our Lady of Hope, St. Michael, and Immaculate Conception, which are currently linked as cluster #120, will become merged on July 1, 2015. Please let us open our hearts to the Holy Spirit who guides us in this journey.

As a merged parish, we will have one parish name; although each building will keep its own identity and the Mass schedule will remain the same. The Mass schedule is the decision of the Pastor. In our case, Fr. Bosco has decided to continue it as is. The next step in this merger process is for members of all five parishes to participate in suggesting probable parish names to present to the Bishop. You can submit suggestions of saints names, to any parish council member or trustee, and they will bring it to the parish council meeting on your behalf. These will be eventually narrowed down to 3 names which will be presented to the Bishop.

FUN NIGHT NEXT WEEKEND, AUGUST 23, 2014—TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE!_ Fun Night tickets are available for purchase at all Masses, also at Murph’s Furniture Store, Mathys Ace Hardware, and the parish office. Ticket price is still the same, $50, but now with more chances to win!

Grand Prize is still $5000, 2nd & 3rd prize $1000, prizes 4-9 each win $500! Get your tickets now!! There will be many auction items; Cakes, Pies, and several Wine/Cheese Baskets!

►►If you have mailed in your payment, your ticket will be available for pick up at FUN NIGHT. If you’d like it sooner, please contact Phyllis/John Sonsalla or Denny/Sherry Crist.◄◄
