Taylor Byrne’s commitment to quality commercial valuations and Risk Management ensures that specialised valuations such as Going Concern Interests (Hotels, Motels, Service Stations and Caravan Parks) are only undertaken by senior members of the firm who have many years of experience in valuing these types of assets.

To ensure a consistent quality product that can withstand Court scrutiny, Taylor Byrne has an internal Compliance Peer Review process for all valuations. For commercial reports, the specialist review panel is made up of senior directors of the company, including the Divisional Head and our Compliance and Risk Manager who has comprehensive experience in the Property Risk areas of the banking industry.

Chris Caleo is the Head of our Commercial Division. Chris was directly responsible for the establishment of our Compliance Process and now oversees the day to day operations and direction of our commercial practice.

Damien Burley manages our New South Wales commercial operations and is responsible for Going Concern and Specialist commercial valuations throughout our New South Wales branches.

Jonathan graduated from UQ and worked for a private firm in the New England region for 12 months, before commencing with Taylor Byrne in 2002. David started his career in 1998 as a Cadet Valuer with Taylor Byrne in Brisbane. He then worked in Business Valuation before joining Urbis from 2001-2004 as a Property Consultant and Valuer and then QIC from 2004-2010 as an Asset and Development Analyst. David joined the Lismore office in 2010 and has a strong background in retail and commercial property.

Cameron Michell joined the Taylor Byrne team in 2011 after working for valuation firms in Port Macquarie and New England. Cameron enjoys the diversity of properties he provides valuation advice on, with no two properties ever being the same. He has experience in all areas of valuation including insurance and land objection valuations. Cameron prides himself on being approachable and maintaining professional standards. Damien originally commenced valuations in 1993 working throughout the Northern Rivers district. In 1995 he moved to Taylor Byrne Toowoomba and worked in all areas of valuation. He returned to Lismore in 2002 as an owner of Hoolihan Valuations, who later merged with Taylor Byrne in 2009. This further expansion of the business saw Damien, now a Director of Taylor Byrne, relocated to the Mid North Coast to Manage the Port Macquarie office.

Taylor Byrne is a dynamic team actively involved in the local communities where we live and work. Supporting local charity groups, sporting clubs and community groups is an important part of our business culture. Not only are we known for valuing properties, we are also known for valuing ‘Life’.

With 21 offices in Queensland and New South Wales our staff and directors live and work in many different communities. From Cairns in Far North Queensland through to Newcastle and the Central Coast in New South Wales, Taylor Byrne’s support is present.

Many different avenues have been set up for Taylor Byrne staff to give back to their communities. Staff in our NSW branches make payroll deductions to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter. We have representation and sponsorship within local sporting associations such as Far North Coast Rugby, and Lismore Turf Club.

In 2011/2012 Taylor Byrne established our own internal donation fund, The Taylor Byrne Values Life Charitable Donation Fund. This fund was started after we lost two of our partners to Cancer. Since its establishment we have been overwhelmed by the many deserving charities serving communities needs.

Each year Taylor Byrne contributes to worthy causes throughout Australia. The difficult task of choosing where to donate is assigned to a committee, who looks at the various causes and charities before making a recommendation to our board. Staff are also consulted about worthy causes they may wish to put forward. Support has been given to Make-A-Wish Foundation, Camp Quality, Anglicare Australia and Prostate Cancer Foundation. It is organisations like these that we will continue to support.

Our people and the communityPeople are the lifeblood of any organisation and at Taylor Byrne we have the best.

Living in these communities we see firsthand the good work and support that charities provide and the difference they make to people’s lives. As a local business, it is important to us that we support the communities that support Taylor Byrne.

Corporate Sport Taylor Byrne participates in Corporate Sporting Events such as the Annual Corporate Rugby 10’s Day held annually in Brisbane. This corporate charity event raises funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation. This event is attended and enjoyed by clients and staff. Our Taylor Byrne “Values Life Charitable Fund”, provides funds to help raise awareness of this very worthwhile cause.

Commencing in picturesque Byron Bay and cycling 450km to beautiful Port Macquarie, the 2014 Ride to Port Brad Foster Challenge took Taylor Byrne’s Damien Burley through some magnificent scenery, challenged his stamina and provided an experience that was unforgettable. The 2014 Ride to Port Brad Foster Challenge raised over $100,000 for the KIDS Foundation. The KIDS Foundation is a dynamic, not-for-profit, health promotion charity that supports children and their families who have endured trauma, horrific burns and other injuries that have changed their lives. Taylor Byrne is extremely proud to have participated in raising much needed funds.

Taylor Byrne recently participated in the Corporate Rugby 10’s Day in Brisbane, a corporate charity event to raise funds for the Prostate Cancer Foundation. Through the involvement of the Taylor Byrne’s Value’s Life charity fund, our staff, and clients, we were proud to help raise funds and awareness of this very worthwhile cause.

450km Ride from Byron Bay to Port MacquarieThe 2014 Brad Foster Challenge was a 450km ride from picturesque Byron Bay to beautiful Port Macquarie. Taylor Byrne’s Damien Burley took part in the ride, taking in some magnificent scenery whilst challenging himself through the demanding schedule. The 2014 Ride to Port Brad Forster Challenge raised over $100,000 for the KIDS Foundation. The KIDS Foundation is an inspiring, not-for-profit, health promotion charity that supports children and their families who have endured trauma, horrific burns and other injuries that have changed their lives forever.
