Driving Directions to TBHS Invitational
From the SOUTH:
o Hwy 61 north to Old Cap Au Gris Rd. exit. Turn right onto Old Cap
Au Gris and the high school will be on your right.
From the WEST:
o Hwy 47 east into Troy. Once within the Troy city limits, turn right on
Lincoln Drive and follow until the intersection at the top of the hill of
Lincoln and Old Cap Au Gris. This intersection is a 4-way stop. Turn
left and follow Old Cap Au Gris onto the overpass and to the high
school which will be on your right.
From the NORTH:
o Hwy 61 south to Hwy 47 exit. Turn right onto Hwy 47 (you will pass a
Toco Bell and a Hardees). Turn left atLincoln Drive (the first
stoplight) and follow Lincoln until it intersects with Old Cap Au Gris.Turn left and follow Old Cap Au Gris onto the overpass and to the
high school which will be on your right.
From the EAST:
o If coming from the greater St. Louis area, take 40 west or 70 west to
Hwy 61 north to the Old Cap Au Gris exit. Turn right on Old Cap Au
Gris and the high school will be on your right.
There are many other hotels in surrounding areas. These two are within a 5
minute drive. Hotels in Wentzville, MO will be about a 10-15 minute drive.

Bus Parking, Loading, and Unloading Information
All buses will unload in the circle drive in front of the high school.
Please have your students remain on the bus until our Host Parent arrives
to stamp the hands of all singer/dancers, crew, band, and director(s).
Our Host Parent will give each director a packet with any updates,
schedule changes, your homeroom assignments, and four (4) free
admission wristbands. These wristbands are for free admittance to the
competition and are to be distributed at the discretion of each director
(i.e. accompanist, choreographer, make-up Mom, drew Dad, etc.)
All other supporters will be directed to the Admissions Table to pay for
entrance into the competition. NO exceptions will be made to this policy.

All equipment will be unloaded through the front doors of the school.
There will be areas on either side of the stage for set storage. The stage
will be set up lengthwise in the gym.
There will be an area divided off in the back of the Commons for larger
set pieces. Bring your equipment and sets down the right side of the
Commons to the pre-set area. Pre-set pieces may be in place for one (1)
hour before and one (1) hour after your performance and then must bereturned to your trailer/truck via the front entrance.
Please contact Andrew Drinkall at (636) 399-1909 prior to our arrival if your
backdrop, etc. is large to make arrangements ahead of time.
All instruments, props, costumes, etc. should remain in your homeroom(s)
or your designated area until your performance.
Please CLEAR the backstage area at the end of your performance as
backstage space is at a premium. Thanks!
ALL buses need to park in the lot which is the furthest EAST. A Host Parent
will be on hand to speak with the bus drivers to give specific information.
No vehicles may remain in the circle drive after unloading.

Hosts and Homerooms
Each group will have student hosts which the directors will meet with upon
arrival at TBHS. Your host is there to take you to your homeroom, guide
you through the building, monitor the room, pass on updates, and answerany questions you may have.
Homerooms will be monitored by TBHS faculty and staff workers. Rooms
will be LOCKED when not in use. Only students accompanied by an adult
will be allowed to enter the homeroom during times when the group is not
using their homeroom for performance preparation.
TBHS assumes no responsibility for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
Please treat your homeroom with care. Damage to any school property
will result in disqualification for the school. Our homerooms are classrooms
that teachers will use on the following Monday.
There will be a Directors Lounge available for directors, bus drivers, etc.
throughout the day with food and drinks available. No students are
permitted.
There will be a Stage Manager as well as a Warm-Up Room Monitor to
assure smooth transition from warm-up through performance.
Please encourage your students to support ALL of their fellow competitorsby watching their performances in the gym. Cheer loud!

The Holding Room will be downstairs in the TBHS Choir room. There are
mirrors in this room for last minute hair and make-up touch ups if
necessary.
The Warm-Up Room is located next to the choir room in the TBHS Band
Room. Music stands and a piano will be provided.
The Solo Competition is in the Library on the upper floor. The solo
competition warm-up room is located in room 316
The Directors Lounge for both directors and bus drivers which will be open
all during the competition located in room 207

Rules of Participation
School classification is based on total student enrollment as defined by
MSHSAA guidelines:
o
Class 1A (127 and below)o Class 2A (128-269)
o Class 3A (270-603)
o Class 4A (604-1,237)
o Class 5A (1,238 and above)
All singer/dancers must be students currently enrolled at the participating
school.
To be eligible for the Outstanding Band caption award, combo members
must be students, with the exception of 1 adult. Each group has a total time limit of 25 minutes which includes set up, tear
down, and performance. Please plan accordingly.
Vandalism of any kind will result in disqualification
Scores need not be supplied for judges.
Pre-recorded audio accompaniment is NOT allowed. All
accompaniment must be live and any instrument may be used.
Out of professional courtesy to all of the choreographers, directors, and
arrangers, the recording of performances by audience members is NOT
permitted

Awards
All awards ceremonies will be held in the gymnasium.
Presentation of Class Awards and Outstanding Male & Female Soloists will
follow the completion of the daytime performances (after TBHSSoundwave exhibition performance).
The top SIX scoring groups, regardless of class or division, will compete in
the evening Finals Competition.
Finals will be judged by all judges, including the Critique and Solo
Competition judges, using the score sheet.
Performance order for Finals will be determined by the directors drawing
names following the Class Awards ceremony.
Presentation of the Outstanding Band, Outstanding Vocals, Outstanding
Choreography, and the Championship trophies will follow the completion
of the Finals (after TBHS Express exhibition performance).

Troy Buchanan High School and Encore Choral Booster members cannot be held
responsible for lost or stolen articles including, but not limited to instruments,
equipment, or other personal property. All participants are encouraged to exerciseproper care in securing all personal property. Only properly authorized persons
will be allowed to enter the homerooms at any time during the event. Only those
participants accompanied by directors or adult chaperones will be allowed to enter
the homeroom during times when the group is not using the homerooms for
performance preparation. Damage to the homeroom or the Troy Buchanan High
School equipment will be billed to the choir occupying the room in which damage
occurs. Directors and adult chaperones are urged to advise all participants of the
consequences of the damage to or the destruction of Troy Buchanan High School
property.

AGREEMENT
Lincoln County R-III School District and its employees follow the laws of the United States of
America governing music licensing and copyrights. As such, we have secured the proper
BMI/ASCAP licenses to keep us compliant with current laws and ensure that we continue to createa fun, memorable and safe experience for all involved. Lincoln County R-III School District and
its employees assume that you, the performing group, has secured or will secure all necessary legal
permissions, licensing, and rights to arrange and perform your musical, literary, dramatic, and
artistic arrangements. Lincoln County R-III School District and its employees are not responsible
for verifying this information and leaves the securing of this up to the performing group.
By signing this release, you warrant that you have the legal right to use your musical and artistic
arrangements and acknowledge: that you assume full responsibility for securing music
licensing/performing rights and complying with the laws of the United States of America; that if
any legal action is taken against you or your program for not securing said musiclicensing/performing rights that you are solely responsible for the resolution of such legal action;
and that you release Lincoln County R-III School District and its employees from any
responsibility to notify you of the necessary steps for obtaining the legal right to musical
arrangements or as it pertains to your duty to be compliant with the laws of the United States of
America; and you hereby indemnify Lincoln County R-III School District and its employees from
any and all legal action that may be taken against those entities as a result of your failure to obtain
the legal rights to any musical arrangements or other intellectual property utilized by you in
