O-Pitblast® - Vibration Analysis

Description Vibration is directly linked to blasting. There is the need to be extra careful when performing a blast that can affect sensitive structures, by controlling all the parameters that affect vibration, so that the generated vibration does not reach the limits imposed by the legislation. Vibration is determined by the quantity of explosives used in a single blast, by the direction and size of the blast and the distance of the blast to structures of interest.

Vibration Control O-Pitblast © provides vibration control service in each blast. The service consists in the installation of seismographs and in the registration of:

• Peak Particle Velocity (mm/s) • Air Wave (Pa) • Noise level (dB) • Official report with the registered values

Vibration Analysis The terrain attenuation laws must be determined so that the maximum quantity of explosive required to perform a blast in each delay is known. These laws define the level of difficulty or easiness with which a particular terrain needs in order to attenuate the effects generated by vibration.

O-Pitblast© has the know-how and the necessary tools for the determination of attenuations laws of any terrain. This valuable information allows prediction of the vibration that each blast will generate and subsequently redesign the blast in order to avoid possible damages.
