TDVision TDVisor

TDVision, a pioneer of 3D Virtual Reality technology, developed proprietary software and hardware to provide a complete acquisition, encoding, decoding and visualization platform for true 3D HD video that could be delivered through legacy infrastructures such as DVDs, satellite, HDTV, cable, computer graphics cards, IPTV, etc. In 2005, TDVision contracted DiMonte Group to design a lightweight 3D Virtual Reality Head Mounted Display, the “TDVisor”, to demonstrate their technology.

The following presentation demonstrates the design, development, and execution capabilities we employed to solve complex design challenges for TDVision, enabling them to be one of the first companies to demonstrate viable 3D VR technology at CES in 2006, 2007 and 2008.





DiMonte Group was engaged to design a 3D Head Mounted Display just two months before CES 2006. This was a static teaser of Virtual Reality technology to show feasibility, capture initial user reaction, and collect testing results from show attendees. We ideated, styled, and designed 3D CAD to produce 10+ molded assemblies in time for the show.

After the success of the CES 2006 showing, DiMonte Group and TDVision launched into a “Concept through Commercialization” program to develop a product that not only could demonstrate the technology, but could also be sold to early technology adopters.

The successful demonstration of technology allowed TDVision to engage several industries into early adoption of 3D VR: - Medical - Military - Consumer - Gaming - Entertainment

CES 2007 & 2008.

TDVision's encoding and decoding technology was standardized as ISO/IEC 14496-10:2008 and widely adopted as Multi-view Video Coding and is currently used in millions of 3D Blu-ray players around the world.





Concurrent with the TDVisor program, DiMonte Group was tasked with utilizing commercially available video equipment to design 3D video cameras optimized for capturing 3D content.
