I consider it a great honor and privilege to provide a letter of recommendation for Lee

Caffrey. It has been my distinct pleasure to have been associated with Lee for the last twelve

years. I first met Lee in my capacity as her swim coach. I was able to observe her on a year round

basis for a number of years as she progressed through the program. I found her to be bright,

articulate, empathetic towards peers, respectful of people in positions of authority, and a talented

and hard working athlete. As she matured in years, she became one of our team leaders, both

within her peer group and as a mentor to younger swimmers. She had a long term focus, which

coupled with her outstanding work ethic, produced an outstanding individual.

For the last few years, Lee has spent her summers as my assistant coach, a position she

currently holds. As she has segued from swimmer to coach, she brings to the coaching staff the

same infectious enthusiasm she displayed as a swimmer. She is gifted in her ability to work with

our youngest athletes, imparting basic skills in an efficient, inspiring, fun manner. Lee is equally

at home coaching our most advanced swimmers. With this group, she commands their respect

through meticulous preparation, boundless enthusiasm, and expert knowledge.

As a youth athletic coach, there are many parallels with teaching. I have seen a

considerable number of gifted athletes and individuals with outstanding character as they passed

through our program. Lee stands out as a singular example of excellence. I cannot imagine

anyone more qualified, more likely to succeed, more likely to achieve in the teaching profession

than Lee Caffrey. It is without any reservations whatsoever, that I give Lee my highest possible

recommendation.

This past year Lee served as my assistant swimming coach for the Canon-McMillan Men's and Women's Swimming Team. Throughout the swimming season, Ihave gotten to know Lee professionally and personally. Lee is an amazing coach, teacher,friend, and above all, an amazing person!

While coaching for our team, I became acquainted with Lee's strong leadership,coaching, and hard-working abilities. She has the capacity to organize, manage, and leadboth a large men's and women's athletic team under heavy stress, while balancing afriendly and productive working relationship with all athletes. Lee is a very committedand dedicated individual who is the future of our sport and education. She is, by far, oneof the best assistant coaches I have ever worked with or observed. Lee has a clearunderstanding of how to manage and motivate swimmers and students. She extendsherself to our athletes and students by offering assistance with problems and by sharingadvice based on her deep understanding of the sport of swimming. Furthermore, becauseof Lee our men's team won our third WPIAL section title in a row. Lee has theknowledge and experience that only few coaches in the area possess. Lee is a huge assetto our district and our program.

Please consider this letter of recommendation for Lee Caffrey. Ms. Caffrey has worked as aPermanent Substitute in sixth grade at North Strabane Intermediate School since January of thisyear. I have formally observed Ms. Caffrey twice since then and have interacted with her on adaily basis in regards to her classroom and students. I routinely visit her classroom on aninformal basis as well.

Ms. Caffrey started working at North Strabane Intermediate School in January and has beensuccessful in her role to this point. She was hired to complete the year for a teacher on leave.She worked closely with that teacher prior to her leaving and developed a good rapport with theteacher and the students. She instantly gained the respect of the students in the room.

Ms. Caffrey possesses many qualities of a successful teacher. She is organized in regards to herclassroom and lesson plans. Her lesson plans are well written and aligned to the state standards.Her lessons are organized around the needs of her students. Her lessons are effectively presentedto students with appropriate activities to engage students throughout the lesson.

Ms. Caffrey is a team player. She has developed a good rapport with the staff members in thebuilding and is willing to do whatever is asked of her. She consistently team teaches with thesupport teachers and works well with other members of the school staff. She works to build apositive learning environment for our students.

Ms. Caffrey displays optimism and excitement on a daily basis. Her enthusiasm within theclassroom carries over to the students and is evident to those who enter her classroom.
