Mobile learning goals

• Access: anytime, anywhere - meeting students when/where

they are going to be more focused, and therefore more

productive

• Interactivity: fosters social presence and allows students to

scaffold - construct meaning

• Immediacy: no need to boot up, and often login is

unnecessary if you keycode your device

• Ease of Use: flow is achieved through simplicity - minimal

size of screen support only primary functionality, what you

need to “get the job done”

DEM streamlines the set-up of devices and apps

You can bypass or turn off certain screens that slow down

each set-up:

• Passcode

• Location

• Restore from backup

• Apple ID (does not allow users to sign in with an Apple ID)

• Terms of Service (skips entirely)

• Siri

• Once your institution has registered, you can prepare

settings for devices purchased directly from Apple using

your Apple customer number

• Can be integrated with other Device Management

Solutions
