Team presentation

Page 2: Team presentation Problem Solving & Concept Development

Dedicated team since beginning of 2011

• Shared passion for concept development

• Shared frustration with common development processes;

o Little investment in concept development, heavy investments in engineering and tool manufacturing

o Deadlines and high pressure, only to achieve mediocre end results

o Project management in a linear fashion / waterfall approach

o Hardly any room for plot turns, scope changes or spin-off opportunities

Services

Creative Session / Phase results:

• Solutions ‘within scope’ (can be directly embedded in project)

• Solutions ‘out-of-scope’ (modify project definition or allow parallel activities)

• Spin-off opportunities

Case examples

Team Session / Second OpinionExploring alternative technologies for solving one contradiction that could not be solved in five car grill actuation concepts developed within MCi.

The team managed to present a solution that could solve thecontradiction.

The second opinion was valuable for MCi because it confirmed that MCI could either change the scope or accept not meeting the requirement.

Fall Pipe CouplingTechnology development for enabling sea deposits on a depth of 2000m. Any normal system would yield under its own weight.

The team of CE Masters invented the ‘Balljonet Coupling”. This revolutionary concept features a double row bajonet coupling (reducing contact pressures to acceptable levels for high-strenght aluminium) which also functions as a ball joint, allowing the segments to move in deep sea water currents.
