Target Sport: runningTarget Users: coaches and athletes Concept:
◦ Put accelerometers on athlete's body
◦ Reconstruct motions based on recording data
◦ Can be used in various applications
Motivation:◦ Runners cannot see how they run unless someone videotapes it;
this is difficult while moving.
◦ Being able to see a 3-D model of their running style will allow them to improve.

Functional Requirements: Record and reconstruct the accelerometer data into
an animationThe animation should be accurate up to 85% of the
actual motions of the athletes.Timing Requirements:
The system will record in real-time and take no more than 3 minutes to finish reconstruction.
Reliability: The parts attached to the runner should tolerate
normal running wear and tear. The battery should last at least 3 hours.
RequirementsRequirements

Portability: The parts that connect to the athletes should
be able to operate in a variety of conditions without hindering the athlete.
Safety: The system should not harm the athlete in any
way.

Hardware◦ Accelerometers
◦ Minimal processors to record accelerometer data, such as the PIC18
◦ Flash drives for storage of data
◦ A way to attach hardware to the user, such as a bodysuit or Velcro straps
Software◦ The program will use inverse kinematics to
reconstruct the data into a 3-D model
