METHOD OF FIELD STUDIES•Visit any forest area with the students to observe if similar situations like that of the Mopane tree can be isolated.•Compare with the farmlands, grasslands, river banks, lake, pond, etc•Visit any recognized conservation group such as the Kilum mountain forest project.•In the field work sites, students should be directed to write a biological essay on the environmental aspects observed, proposing ways on how to ameliorate the degrading conditions observed.
