6. About us
A great amount of tech job offers have been published and an even greater amount of developers have signed up on Joppy since we launched, a year and a half ago.
We have now turned all that data into this report about the Tech Ecosystem in Spain, mainly focused on Barcelona & Madrid.
The reported data is based on:
⚠ IMPORTANT: Keep in mind that all the numbers are based
on what happened in Joppy, so fluctuations on charts do not necessarily reflect fluctuations on the market trends.
Summary
+1,100Job offers

+430Companies
+18,000Developers
Tech ScenarioUnemployment in technology is close to zero. Almost all developers have a job, and usually a job with great benefits and conditions.
In tech hubs, like Barcelona and Madrid, developers can receive around 5 job offers per week, causing them to stop paying attention to new job opportunities.
According to StackOverflow, the world's most used technical forum, even if the 60% of developers are open to new opportunities, only a 15% of developers are actively looking for a job.
Put all that information together and you will understand why:
Hiring software developers has become one of the key problems faced by most tech companies
1. SalariesComparison about what companies are offering and what developers expect.
Some details
On Joppy, each job offer posted has a salary range set by the company. Charts show the average max and min of those salary ranges.
Developers’ salaries are calculated as the average salary expectation set by developers on the given semester.
We use semesters to show the evolution of salaries on our platform:

6. About usJoppy is a recruitment platform for developers by developers, created by a 3 techies team with +15 years of experience on tech startups.
Joppy aims to ease the first approach between tech companies and developers by putting developers in control, helping companies to reach candidates open to new opportunities.
How it works?· Candidates create an anonymous profile by setting what they know/want· They only see job offers that match and are relevant to them· Candidates can reject or show interest quickly by swiping left or right· Only companies they actively accept can talk to them· It's up to the candidate to give their personal information to each company
How this helps companies?· Companies don't have to search for candidates· They reach active & passive candidates in a less invasive way· Companies only talk with already engaged candidates· They get a great response rate
What are candidate’s profiles? We are focused on tech profiles: Backend, Frontend, Big Data, Full Stack, Mobile, System Admin, QA, Manager, among others…
How much does it cost? You can post as many offers you want, you can have all the recruiter accounts you need and you can talk with all the interested candidates, and you will only have to pay a flat fee of 999€ if you end up hiring one.
Some numbers...We have more than 18,000 candidates subscribed and we keep growing +20% MoM and more than a 1,100 job offers were posted by 420 tech companies.
Even we are new platform and really small team, close to 100 tech candidates were hired last year thanks to Joppy.
