GE Oil & Gas provides a comprehensive portfolio of technical training courses for a widerange of products. These courses can be conducted at the customer's site, in our FlorenceLearning Center or in one of our Training Facilities located throughout the world workingcloser to our customer.

Our Headquarters

The Florence Learning Center is located next to GE Oil & Gas headquarters in Florence, Italy and takes inthe promises of the GE Oil & Gas Technical Trianing. The department offers courses to the global oil andgas community. Our 5,600 square meter facility has more than 20 training rooms, a conference centerwith a seating capacity of 200, multimedia rooms, and classrooms equipped with Speedtronic™ Mark V,Mark VI and MarkVIe control panels, and Bently Nevada™ equipment to offer a hands-on learningexperience. Our instructors are field-seasoned experts who combine an understanding of theory withpractical experience. The high quality training provided is a prerequisite for improving the skills ofoperation and maintenance personnel to ensure safety and superior equipment availability. Trainingcourses delivered at the Florence Learning Center offer formal classroom lectures with the addedadvantage of being able to visit the manufacturing plant, where trainees have the opportunity tobecome familiar with GE Oil & Gas machining, assembly and testing operations while they are actuallybeing performed.In addition, the Florence Learning Center features numerous cut-out scale models of machines to helpstudents visualize concepts throughout the learning process.We offer courses both on a single company basis and for groups that include more than one company.

With the aim of better satisfying customer needs, GE Oil & Gas has created Training Centersworldwide, everywhere with the same quality. One of the key objectives is to create anddevelop local resources able to deliver technical information and assistance.Our Centers deliver learning environments that provide information on technologies ofspecific areas of interest.

ITALYMASSA PLANT

In February 2010 a new training facility wasinaugurated at the GE Oil & Gas Massa Plant, justover 50 miles (80 km) from Florence headquarter.Massa is a state of the art very large facilitymainly focused on 4 areas: production of heavywall reactors, production and assembly ofcompressor packages, string and full-load testing of complete compression systems, and the LM2500 aeroderivative Service Shop.Training at this facility is specialized to providecourses for aeroderivative equipment, andincludes the following:

Fully equipped classroom adjacent to theAeroderivative Service Shop giving studentsimmediate access to the shop and an intimateview of the internal components of gas turbinesbeing serviced

LM2500 package dedicated to practicaltraining for mechanical operations. Studentsperform Level 1 module mechanical proceduresincluding external and borescopic inspectionsof the hot path component bleed valves, VSVreadings and settings, thermocouple checks,scavenge lube oil, etc.

BARI PLANT

Two specially equipped training rooms areavailable at the Bari Plant, which is located in Southern Italy.The Bari site is a 230,000 m2 plant fully dedicatedto the design and fabrication of pumps andindustrial valves. This training facility offerscourses on any type of GE centrifugal pumps. Students have ready access to the shop floorwhere they can see exactly how our pumps aremanufactured, assembled and tested.

ALGERIAStarting in October 2010, the GE Oil & GasAlgesco Service Shop, located in Boufarik, innorthern Algeria, has its own training centercontaining a fully equipped Bently Nevada™Rotor Kit, BN 3500 rack, System 1 and aSpeedtronic™ MarkVI control panel.

NIGERIAIn September 2004 the first GE Regional TrainingCenter was inaugurated in Port Harcourt Nigeriato provide technical information, training andassistance for customers in Nigeria and thesurrounding regions. It is the first GE facility of its kind in Sub-Saharan Africa.Construction has recently been completed on anew, four-story building located in the industrialzone of Port Harcourt City, Rivers State.The Center includes two fully equipped classroomsfor mechanical training sessions, a gas turbinecontrol panel simulator and other instructionalmaterials such as machined cut-outs showingcomponent parts and displays designed toinstruct trainees on the operational features ofGE equipment for oil and gas applications.The Center offers both standard and customizedtraining packages for GE equipment for operationand maintenance personnel, as well as leadershipand management courses.

MEXICOOur GE office in Ciudad del Carmen includes atraining room equipped with a Speedtronic™ Mark VISimplex Control panel. Students can simulateoperations and to gain hands-on experience withthe panel itself.

Mechanical Courses provide in depth knowledge of GE Oil & Gas machinery and auxiliaries, and the skills needed to operate the machinery effectively for maximum production, efficiency andenvironmental compliance.

Control Courses provide a solid background in turbine governing systems and enable engineersto calibrate the controls and diagnose problems.

GE Oil & Gas Technical Training provides world-class, site specific technical trainingto owners and operators of our equipment. Courses and programs are offered forthe operation and maintenance of GE Equipment.Customized training is intended to provide trainees with practical experience thatthey will be able to apply on a daily basis. The courses are designed to meet thecustomer’s specific needs and are developed using the actual documentationprepared for the customer’s units. Instruction is available either at the customer’ssite or at the Florence Learning Center, and is scheduled at the convenience of thecustomer. The course duration is tailored to the course material and the backgroundof the trainees. To ensure an optimum learning experience for the individual, theclass size is limited to 15 trainees for mechanical subjects and 10 trainees forcontrol courses.

Multi-customer training are also possible allowing to participants from differentcompanies to take part in the courses together.

This program was launched in 2008 and certifies thecustomer’s ability to manage a specific installationcontaining GE rotating equipment. The CORE trainingapproach certifies the ability of the customer’soperators from a comprehensive plant operation point of view. The training program includesexercises, simulations and finally, an individualexam administered by a GE senior technicalexaminer. This site-specific certification givesoperators the highest level of preparation andproficiency.

GUARANTEE EQUIPMENT RELIABILITY

The customer's personnel engaged in operation andmaintenance activities have a major impact on thereliability of the equipment. Assuring the proficiency of plant personnel through systematic and structuredtraining limits the risk of damage and unforeseen costs due to human error.

ANALYZING THE GAP BETWEEN EXISTING AND IDEALPERSONNEL PREPARATION

GE Oil & Gas training experts can help customers evaluatethe background and preparation of their personnel withrespect to their responsibilities and training can be tailoredand executed to eliminate any gaps identified.

FIXED AND LOWER EDUCATION COSTS

With a long term training agreement, customers canreduce the cost of preparing their personnel to contributesafely and effectively to the operation of their plant. Thetraining budget can be determined and allocated in upfront, and the cost of developing specialized courses canbe determined in advance and optimized.

In response to requests from customers, GE Oil & Gashas developed at its Massa Plant a Hands-onTraining facility for aeroderivative the technologies,which offers the unique opportunity to gain in-depthknowledge on this specialized GE equipment.

During this courses, trainees will have theopportunity to:• Start up an LM2500 gas generator• Perform Level 1 maintenance activities on a

PGT25 SAC package• Explore the aeroderivative service shop and

packaging facility

H.O.T courses are scheduled for fixed dates andattendance is limited to eight trainees (potentiallyfrom different companies).

The complete H.O.T. program features five courses: • Two on the Speedtronic™ Mark VI control system

(five days covering operation or 10 days onoperation and maintenance)

• Two on mechanical topics (two days on borescopicinspection and five days on general maintenance)

• A 10-day course for Supervisors with a mix ofmechanical and control topics

Multimedia InteractiveManual

Since the technical documentation that supports training is anessential component in the process of learning to operate themachines employed in the oil & gas industry, we now offer ourcustomers an innovative learning tool that we call MIM(Multimedia Interactive Manual). MIM presents all of theinformation necessary to properly use the core equipmentinstalled in systems -- from the theoretical, operational andmaintenance views. The imperatives followed in thedevelopment of the Multimedia Interactive Manual are clarityof content, simple organization and usability of theinformation. These objectives have resulted in an MIM productwith superior information content, built in interactive functions,ease and speed of accessing information, moderate computerrequirements, and simplified distribution and updatingcapabilities.
