Repair or Replacement of Damaged Components

Gear teeth regrinding improvements provide a more accurate tooth connection and decrease the possibility of debris forming.

Elimination of Spinning Bearing Outer Races

Moventas service solution to completely stop the spinning of outer bearing races. The race spinning can cause bearing bore deformations leading to misalignment and ultimately to warping of the high speed and intermediate speed shafts as well as gearbox axels and housing.

Case Carburized Ring Gear

Internal gearing case carburization offers the strongest resistance to wear. Gear lifetime can be doubled at planetary section, covering the entire gearbox design lifetime of 20 years, providing optimal running conditions for bearings.

All wind turbine gear manufactures recognize case carburized gears as superior. Moventas is the only wind gearbox manufacturer with the technological know-how to carburize inner gearings. Service brings this technology to you via ExtraLife.

Clean Steel

Gear material upgrade to Moventas Clean Steel. Improved mechanical strength provides resistance against tooth fracture and flank breakage with increased gear surface safety of 10% and gear root safety of 5%.Tight Moventas material specifications prevent subsurface inclusions which act as initiation points for fatigue and tooth fractures.

Integrated Planet Wheel Bearings

Moventas Service is able to provide a larger WEC resistant and black oxidized bearing, in accordance with tight physical constraints.

This is possible with the incorporation of an outer raceway into the planet wheel. Resulting in a larger bearing with an even load distribution, better radial load handling, and greater planet gear stability. Flexspider technology allows planet pins to compensate for deformations. As an added benefit, there is no outer race that can spin inside the planet bearing.
