    1.1 Strict adherence to cleaning and decontaminaon protocols given here in this guide need to be followed. Regulatory requirements and or advisories provided by central / state governments shall be priorized for compliance. The fleet in-charge or person (designated by competent a u t h o r i t y ) w i l l s u p e r v i s e i t s adherence.

1.6 Installing physical barriers, such as clear plasc sneeze guards in counters or such relevant areas etc shall be encouraged.

1 General Instrucons – Management and Drivers

1.2 Cooperate with security at the gate to monitor skin temperature using handheld IR thermometers.

1.3 A quesonnaire should be provided to all the vehicle drivers to idenfy COVID-19 cases.

1.4 Avoid working, taking rest in enclosed area limited with air circulaon. Ensure to work / rest in adequately venlated area

1.5 Minimize paper documentaon and increase e-documentaon to avoid frequent hand touch by reduce potenal contaminaon

Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses, some causing illness in people and others that circulate among animals, including camels, cats and bats. In humans, the transmission of SARS-COV-2 virus can occur via respiratory droplets directly (through droplets from coughing or sneezing) or indirectly (through contaminated objects or surfaces). The people most at risk of SARS-COV-2 viral infecon are those who are in close contact with a suspect/confirmed COVID-19 people, those who take care for such paents or comorbid ailments such as respiratory infecon and or heart disease.

The purpose of this COVID-19 prevenon guidelines is to highlight addional control measures to be taken by Logiscs and fleet management companies in order to promote safety of the employees and contractors by adopng suitable prevenon and protecon measures.

    Introducon

1.10 Provide all workers with job-specific educaon and training on prevenng transmission of COVID-19, including inial and roune/refresher training.

1.11 Ensure that psychological and behavioural support is available to address employee stress.

1.8 Consider offering face masks to drivers and cleaner’s. Ill employees and customers shall be isolated and shall be provided with Surgical mask to contain respiratory secreons unl they are able leave the workplace (i.e., for medical evaluaon/care or to return home).

    1.9 Provision of isolaon room should be made in case of idenficaon of paents with known or suspected COV I D - 1 9 ( i . e . , p e rs o n u n d e r invesgaon) should be placed in an airborne infecon isolaon room (AIIR).

1.12 Ensure that drivers have access to appropriate disinfectants, hand s a n i ze r, p e rs o n a l p ro te c ve equipment, and other material needed to clean high-touch surfaces in their trucks and implement recommendaons made in these guidelines.

1.7 Providing workers with up-to-date educaon and training on COVID-19 risk factors and protecve behaviours (e.g., cough equee and care of PPE).

    4

  • 1.13 Equip drivers, cleaners, vehicles, and workspaces with water and soap, gloves, alcohol-based wipes or spray (consisng of at least 70% alcohol), and dry paper towels for spot-disinfecon. Water and Soap are the best hand sanizing method. If water and soap are not available and if hands are clean, alcohol – based sanizers can be used.

    1.15 D a i l y t e m p e ra t u re o f d r i v e r / transporter supervisor should be recorded by the company.

1.16 Download Aarogya Setu app by GOI for updated knowledge and also to detects and t racks the user ’s movement with the help of GPS and Bluetooth sensors and to sends out a noficaon if they come in contact with infected people by using its database and algorithms.

1.17 Corona Safety slogan to be printed/ pasted on trailer/truck both side.

1.14 Video oath by driver about COVID 19 safety guideline (1 mins)

1.18 Compulsory digital mode for money transacon to avoid cash handling at Dhaba/fuel staon (Google pay/ phone pey/paytm) etc.

    2 DEFINITIONS

2.1 Cleaning: Refers to the physical removal of germs, dirt, and impuries from surfaces. Cleaning does not kill germs, but by removing them, it lowers their numbers and the risk of spreading infecon. Cleaning is typically performed using soap, detergents, cleansers and clean water before using a disinfecng method.

2.2 Dis infecng: Refers to us ing chemicals to kill germs on surfaces. This process does not necessarily clean dirty surfaces or remove germs, but by killing germs on a surface aer cleaning, it can further lower the risk

of spreading infecon. Disinfecng is typically performed using approved commercial or household disinfecng soluons including commercial soap.

2.4 Incubaon period: Incubaon period refers to the me period required for the virus to develop symptoms in the body. In simpler terms, it is the me period between contracng a virus and emergence of its symptoms. The incubaon period of COVID-19 is somewhere between 2-14 days.

    2.5 Pandemic: A disease is termed as a pandemic when it spreads all over the globe and in most countries of the world. COVID-19 was declared as a pandemic by WHO (World Health Organizaon) aer its spread was c o n fi r m e d i n m o r e t h a n 1 0 0 countries.

2.6 Community spread: Community spread refers to a process when the virus starts spreading in the general masses. Community spread is detected when a confirmed case of the virus is found without having a known origin. It happens when a person without any travel history or interacon with any infected person contracts the virus.

2.3 Coronavirus: Coronavirus is a family of virus which already exists in the world and is known to cause diseases in humans from animals and spreads between human to human

2.7 Quaranne and isolaon: It refers to the form of precauon of separang individuals in case if he / she exhibit symptoms or have returned from a trip abroad. While isolaon is when someone who has been tested posive for COVID-19 is separated from other people in order to stop the spread of the virus.

2.8 Comorbidity: It refers to a medical condion, in which a person has more than one disease at the same me.

    5

  • 2.9 Social distancing: It basically means keeping a safe distance of about six feet from others. This distance will not only prevent from contracng any kind of infecon but will also break the chain of the disease.

2.10 Contact me: Waing me of a minimum 20 minutes aer your thorough wipe-down of vehicle high touch areas and before you take the wheel and start touching interior components again. However, there is no defined ‘Contact Time’ established for SARS-COV-2 virus

2.13 Personal Protecve Equipment (PPE)– All equipment and clothing which is intended to be worn or held by a person at work and which affords protecon against one or more risks to health and safety. Masks, gloves and goggles are considered minimum required PPE while disinfecng acvity. Masks shall be worn in public places and or while communicang with known or unknown virus infected people.

2.14 Risk: The quantave or qualitave expression of possible loss that considers both the probability that a hazard will cause harm and the consequences of that event.

    2.12 Hazard: A source of danger (i.e. material, a source or operaon) with the potenal to cause ill injury or d e a t h t o p e r s o n n e l , l o s s o f material/product or damage to a facility or the environment.

Cases of comorbidity have a higher risk of turning sensive in case of COVID-19. For example, if someone has high blood pressure and is also diabec, they have comorbidies and have a higher risk of developing complicaons.

2.11 Banksman: Operaves trained to direct vehicle movement on or around the site.

3.1 Instruconal Steps for Driving Crew and Employers:

    3.1.1 Steps for crew members

    Take your temperature before work.

Sanize your hands as frequent as possible

Wear a face mask at all mes.

Pracce social distancing in the workplace as work dues permit.

    3.3.1.2 Disinfectant applicaon

For hard non-porous surfaces within the interior of the vehicle such as hard seats, arm rests, door handles, seat belt buckles, light and air controls, doors and windows, and grab handles, clean with detergent or soap and water if the surfaces are visibly dirty, prior to disinfectant applicaon

Disinfectant soluon should be approved by Govt of India regulaons or WHO gu idance. G loves and any other disposable PPE such as wearing chemical gloves (i.e. nitrile gloves) should be used

For so or porous surfaces such as fabric seats, remove any visible contaminaon, if present,  and clean with appropriate cleaners indicated for use on these surfaces.

3.3.1.1 Procedure for Cleaning: for cleaning and disinfecng the vehicle, It should be removed and disposed of aer cleaning; wash hands immediately aer removal of gloves and PPE with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use an alcohol-based hand sanizer with at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available, provided hands are clean. If a disposable gown was not worn, work uniforms/clothes worn during cleaning and disinfecng should be laundered a e r w a r d s u s i n g t h e w a r m e s t appropriate water seng and dry items completely.

    7

  • All high touch point surfaces used to access and control the vehicle should be cleaned and disinfected; common surfaces include but are not limited to:

    Note:

    a) Never use alcohol near ignion sources including pilot lights, running motors and welding/cung torches; and, never smoke while using alcohol

    b) Never mix bleach with ammonia or any other cleanser. Use one or the other. Use either an alcohol soluon or use a bleach soluon but never mix the two together.

    c) If leather or synthec gloves are used instead of chemical (nitrile or rubber), it is important to know these gloves cannot be disinfected and may transmit germs across surfaces. The cleaning and disinfecng procedures above will need to be followed.

3.3.1.3 Wait for the disinfectant to eradicate any possible infecon: Driver of carrier vehicle should ensures waing up to 15 minutes unl contact me before taking the wheel and starng to touch the external and high touch components again. There is no defined waing period established for using the surface aer disinfecon. Keep the windows and doors open during and aer disinfectant procedure

Disinfecon of Hard Surfaces such as Vehicle Body and Tyres: Use 1% sodium hypochlorite power wash spray to disinfect tyres aer each trip and vehicle

3.3.1.4 Washing/sanizing hands before re-entering the vehicle: Washing of hands is the most important thing we can do to stem the spread of coronavirus. You must wash your hands with warm or cool water and soap vigorously for 20 seconds. Most importantly, scrub your palms–hard. Be sure each part of your hand receives fricon, including between your fingers, fingerps, underneath fingernails, and thumbs.

    3.4 D i g i t a l i z a o n o f d o c u m e n t verificaon:

The document verificaon during entry and exit should be done digitally. No physical submission or exchange should be pracced by the drivers.

    3.4.1.2 Maintain “social distancing” with d i g i t a l w o r k fl o w s , a m o b i l e applicaon may be developed for drivers so that they can access informaon for their daily check-in without supervisor or fleet manager interacon. Instead of physical me cards, fleets can verify documents uploaded to an online portal and assigning routes to drivers through the app. Digital documents through the Driver App reduce the risk of transming germs through shared p a p e r w o r k a n d f a c e - t o - f a c e exchanges. They’re usually faster and easier to manage.

3.4.1.3 Adapt to fast-changing demand with real-me roung and dispatch: With some routes cancelled and others surging, real-me tracking of both vehicles and trailers helps fleets route drivers efficiently to meet demand. A system may be developed which will provide visibility into en-route wait mes with help of “detenon report”, so that drivers and dispatchers can m a ke a d j u st m e nt s to p l a n a s necessary.

3.4.2 Keep overworked drivers safe: With these extenuang circumstances, it’s more important than ever to prevent accidents by proacvely assisng

3.4.2.1.1 Ensure sanizaon between shis: To reduce the spread of COVID-19, sanizaon pracces are being followed, Install and customize electronic Driver Vehicle Inspecon Reports so that pre- and post-trip inspecons (for vehicles and trailers alike) cleaning checks incorporated.

3.4.2.2 Idenfy possible virus exposure: Quickly and accurately idenfying people who may have been exposed to the virus is crical to stop its spread. People who may have been exposed should take recommended acon to find care, self-quaranne if needed, and communicate possible risk of further transmission. Arogya Setu plaorm shall be used toidenfy COVID19 cases and encourage social distancing

drivers. Dual-facing AI dash cameras may be setup which will help you keep an eye on drivers’ safety and ensure that they aren’t fagued or distracted. Dash cams should have built-in speakers for in -cab a lerts for s p e e d i n g , h a r s h e v e n t s , a n d unbuckled seat belts. Set up an alert for safety events (like harsh braking and speeding) for the drivers

3.4.3 Disinfecon of vehicle is required to be done once at the start of each day and during each shi end and vehicle exchange.

3.5 Pre dispatch driver health check up

    3.5.1.1 Pre-Screen: Employers should m e a s u r e t h e d r i v i n g c r e w temperature and assess symptoms prior to them starng work. Ideally, temperature checks should be conducted before the individual enters the facility.
