Anna Chau Acting Chief Executive, Infrastructure Australia

Anna Chau is the Acting Chief Executive of Infrastructure Australia and the

Executive Director of Project Advisory. Anna leads the on-going development of

the national Infrastructure Priority List and the assessment of project business

case submissions which are considered by the Infrastructure Australia Board for

the Priority List. She is a leading applied economist in infrastructure with 27

years’ professional experience, specialising in transport economics. Anna was

previously Chief Economist at AECOM Australia and led AECOM’s national

Economics team.

Her previous positions include Principal at Booz & Company, Executive Director

of EY’s Economics team in Sydney, and Senior Manager in the business

development group at a major train operator company in the UK.

She has led numerous cost-benefit analyses and business cases, as both a

practitioner and a reviewer, in a range of infrastructure sectors, including

transport, water and waste, energy, law enforcement, justice, IT and the

environment.

Her contribution to the transport sector was recognised in 2017 when she was

shortlisted as a finalist for the Professional Woman in Logistics and Transport

Award by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport Australia (CILTA).

Anna is a member of AICD, CILTA and the Transport Economists Group, and

holds a Bachelor of Business in Finance and Economics, a Graduate Diploma in

Communications in Journalism, and Master of Commerce in Environmental

Economics.

Mobility

Charles is one of Australia’s foremost rail infrastructure, signalling and

engineering experts. He is a Fellow and Past President of the IRSE (Institute of

Railway Signalling Engineers).

With his wealth of international experience over the past 40 years, from the UK

to India, China, Asia and Australia, he is a regular contributor to thought

leadership on the topic of the future of mobility including the role of digitalisation,

automation and data in infrastructure and mass transit for cities.

Rodd Staples Secretary, Transport for NSW

As Secretary of Transport for NSW, Rodd Staples leads the Transport cluster

which has more than 25,000 people working across the transport agencies on

behalf of the NSW community. He is responsible for leading the Transport cluster

to deliver Premier’s and State priorities, and his role covers the planning and

delivery of services and infrastructure across the transport system including

trains, buses, ferries, roads and traffic, freight and ports, light rail, point to point

transport, intrastate air services, and active travel. Rodd is accountable for

delivering the largest transport infrastructure pipeline in a generation, which

includes $43bn of capital works over a four year period.

He’s also accountable for better integration across transport services,

implementing technology and innovation to improve customer service, and

driving reforms and long term planning to make the transport system more

customer-focused and efficient. In his previous role as Program Director, Sydney

Metro Delivery Office, Rodd was leading the delivery of Sydney Metro –

Australia’s biggest public transport projects, with 31 stations and 66km of new

metro rail.

An engineer who grew up in Sydney’s south, Rodd has also worked in the fields

of transport and infrastructure planning for nearly two decades, across Australia

and in both public and private sectors. His qualifications in engineering and

finance provide the strong foundations required to deliver an unprecedented

program of infrastructure works and service improvements across transport in

NSW.

He lives in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire with his wife Maree and their three children

Thomas, Anna and Jack.
