We invite full-time, Native American, incoming college freshman, undergraduate, and community college students whose tribe is a member of TEDNA to submit an essay by August 6, 2016. This year’s theme is “The Impact of Native American Mascots.” Three awards will be given in the amount of $750, $425 and $325, respectively. Whether it’s hitting the powwow trail or pulling in a canoe journey, summer is a great time to connect with your culture. Encourage youth you know to get involved in cultural activities and share their experience by entering this month’s We R Native contest. The conference will return to its birth state of Oklahoma, taking place at the Renaissance Oklahoma City Convention Center Hotel, July 22-26, 2016.
