• Point Code and CIC Translation

The system can change the destination point code, originating point code, and circuit identifiercode of an MTP-routed MSU to previously-configured values. This ability allows the system toemulate a point code using other nodes in the network.

• Pre-LNP Query Service GTT processing

GTT can be performed on messages that are destined for certain LNP Query services before themessages are processed by the LNP local subsystem.

• Support CRP check for SRI_SM using TCAP digits

The MSISDN digits in the TCAP layer of SRI_SM messages can be used as the Directory or DialedNumber for MNP Circular Route Prevention processing performed by the MT-Based GSM SMSNP feature.

• XUDT Conversion Enhancements

A new XUDT UDT Conversion feature is introduced to allow XUDT(S) < - > UDT(S) conversionto occur based on the Destination Point Code (DPC).

In addition, the existing ANSI-ITU-China SCCP Conversion feature (now referred to as theANSI/ITU SCCP Conversion feature) can support XUDT(S) conversion for MTP-routed andGT-routed SCCP messages.

Other Changes

• Change the number of digits in the MAP Routing Info of the returned SRI_ACK message to 15

The number of digits in the MAP Routing Info portion of the returned SRI_ACK message can be

configured by the user.• E5-TDM does not support Hardware Flow Control

Documentation for the chg-trm command is updated to note that the E5-TDM card does notsupport hardware flow control on the serial MMI port.

• Extended Processing Time Notification

The rept-stat/rtrv-dstn and rept-stat/rtrv-rte commands are updated to display thewarning "Extended processing time may be required" before more than one destination or routestatus is displayed.

• PC_TYPE in Daily Maintenance and Hourly Maintenance Per SSP reports

The new field PC_TYPE is added to the Daily Maintenance (MTCD) and Hourly Maintenance(MTCH) Per SSP reports for enttype=aiq, atinpq, lnp, np, or vflex.

• Support for the BLIXP GPL

A new BLIXP flash GPL is introduced. This GPL contains a tar image with all of the previouslyindependent flash GPLs required for E5-E1T1, E5-ENET, E5-SM4G, and HC-MIM cards.

Hybrid INP/IDP Relay Service

The Hybrid INP/IDP Relay Service feature allows the existing Prepaid IDP Query Relay feature (PartNumber 893-0160-01) to send CONNECT, CONTINUE, or RELEASECALL responses based on theRTDB lookup results. This functionality includes the ability to configure whether the CutAndPasteparameter is included in the CONNECT message when the message is sent from the Prepaid IDPQuery Relay feature.

The functionality is configured for the Prepaid IDP Query Relay feature using a new INPRTG ServiceAction, which is applicable to the IDPRCDPN(X) and IDPRCGPN NPP services. Refer to the NumberingPlan Processor (NPP) Overview for more information.

The Hybrid INP/IDP Relay Service feature also allows a Service Control Point (SCP) Global TitleAddress (GTA) to be provisioned based on a Service Key. This functionality is configured using a newSKGTARTG Service Action which is applicable to IDPRCDPN(x) services. This Service Action allows

Point Code and CIC Translation

The Point Code and CIC Translation (PCT) feature allows the EAGLE 5 ISS to change the destinationpoint code (DPC) or originating point code (OPC) of an MTP-routed MSU to previously configuredvalues. This functionality allows external networks to continue using the old point codes by emulatingand mapping them to the new real point codes within the networks. The feature can also be used tochange the circuit identifier code (CIC) of the MSU.

Note: ITUN24 point codes, spare point codes, and private point codes are not supported by PCTtranslations.

A new PCT table is used to define translations between real and emulated point codes.

Network nodes can send and receive traffic to and from the emulated point code (EPC) without'knowing' the real point code (Real PC) that is being emulated by the EPC. This ability allows the RealPC to be changed transparently from the rest of the network, which can continue using the EPC toroute traffic.

If PCT is configured, either system wide or for the incoming linkset, then a DPC lookup is performedon the incoming MSU. If a translation is found during the DPC lookup, then the DPC of the MSU isreplaced by the Real PC as the MSU is received by the EAGLE 5 ISS. If a Real CIC was provisioned inthe translation, then the CIC of the MSU is changed to the value from the Real CIC range.

If the MSU was not modified by the DPC lookup, then an OPC lookup is performed on the outgoingMSU. If a translation is found during the OPC lookup, then the OPC of the MSU is replaced by theEPC of the matching translation as the MSU leaves the EAGLE 5 ISS. If an Emulated CIC wasprovisioned in the translation, then the CIC of the MSU is changed to the value from the EmulatedCIC range.

Features and functionalities in the EAGLE 5 ISS use the real point code in provisioning.

The PCT feature is a quantity feature. The quantity is used to define the maximum number of allowedtranslations.

Feature Control Requirements

• FAK for the Part Number of the desired quantity feature:

• 893-0372-01—25 translations• 893-0372-02—50 translations• 893-0372-03—75 translations• 893-0372-04—100 translations• 893-0372-05—150 translations• 893-0372-06—200 translations• 893-0372-07—250 translations• 893-0372-08—1000 translations

• After a PCT feature has been enabled, a PCT feature with a lower quantity cannot be enabled.• A temporary FAK cannot be used to enable the feature.

Measurements

New registers are added to the SYSTOT reports for the PCT feature:

• PCTDPCLKP—number of MSUs where PCT DPC Lookup was done successfully (the MSU’s DPCand/or CIC was modified when the PCT DPC Lookup was performed)

• PCTOPCLKP—number of MSUs where the PCT OPC Lookup was done successfully (the MSU’sOPC and/or CIC was modified when the PCT OPC Lookup was performed)

These measurements can be obtained using the Measurements Control Platform, OAM-based, orE5-OAM Integrated Measurements collection method.

Limitations

All Network Management may not work fully due to the overlap of CIC across multiple point codes.

Pre-LNP Query Service GTT processing

The Pre-LNP Query Service GTT processing feature allows Global Title Translation (GTT) to beperformed on messages before the messages are processed by the LNP local subsystem.

GTT is used to determine whether the originator of the query has an agreement with the LNP serviceprovider to perform LNP database lookup. If an agreement exists, then LNP service processing isperformed and an appropriate response is sent to the originator. If an agreement does not exist, thenthe query is routed as per the GTT result.

This functionality is available for LNP Query Services (AIN, IN, LRNQT, LNPQS, PCS, and WNP).

Feature Control Requirements

The EGTT feature must be turned on before the Pre-LNP Query Service GTT processing functionalitycan be provisioned.

Hardware Requirements

The Pre-LNP Query Service GTT processing functionality requires an E5-SM4G or higher card.

Commands

The ent/chg/dlt/rtrv-lnp-serv commands are enhanced to provision and display the optionsallowing Pre-LNP Query Service GTT Processing.

An example of output for the rtrv-lnp-serv command is shown in the Commands section for theFall-back to GTT after LNP MR Service feature.

Limitations

No limitations are associated with this feature.

Support CRP check for SRI_SM using TCAP digits

The Support CRP check for SRI_SM using TCAP digits feature allows SCCP or TCAP MSISDN digitsof SRI_SM messages to be used as the Directory or Dialed Number (DN) for MNP Circular RoutePrevention (MNPCRP) processing performed by the MT-Based GSM SMS NP feature.

If the TCAP MSISDN is used as the DN, a Home Routing Number (RN) match is found in the incomingTCAP MSISDN digits, and the SRI_SM message is to be relayed, then the RN digits from the TCAPMSISDN are stripped before relaying the message to the Home Location Register (HLR).

Feature Control Requirements

The MT-Based GSM SMS NP feature (Part Number 893-0200-01) must be enabled before the SupportCRP check for SRI_SM using TCAP digits functionality can be provisioned.

Hardware Requirements

None.

Commands

The chg/rtrv-gsmsmsopts commands are enhanced to provision and display the Support CRPcheck for SRI_SM using TCAP digits functionality.

XUDT Conversion Enhancements

The XUDT Conversion Enhancements consists of two parts:

• A new XUDT UDT Conversion feature allows XUDT(S) < - > UDT(S) conversion to occur basedon the Destination Point Code (DPC) for MTP-routed and EAGLE-generated SCCP messages.Format conversions for both segmented and non-segmented messages are supported: however, the system does not perform segmentation or reassembly.

• The existing ANSI-ITU-China SCCP Conversion feature is enhanced to support XUDT(S) conversionfor MTP-routed and GT-routed SCCP messages. As part of this enhancement, the ANSI-ITU-ChinaSCCP Conversion feature is now referred to as the ANSI/ITU SCCP Conversion feature.

For GT-routed messages and MTP-Routed SCCP messages that are processed on Service Modulecards, XUDT UDT conversion is applied after the ANSI/ITU SCCP Conversion feature processes themessages.

The ANSI/ITU SCCP Conversion feature and the XUDT UDT Conversion feature can operateindependently of each other.

Feature Control Requirements

• The XUDT UDT Conversion feature requires a FAK for Part Number 893-0353-01.• The XUDT UDT Conversion feature cannot be turned off after it has been turned on.• A temporary FAK cannot be used to enable the XUDT UDT Conversion feature.• The ANSI/ITU SCCP Conversion feature requires a FAK for the existing Part Number 893-0120-01.

PC_TYPE in Daily Maintenance and Hourly Maintenance Per SSP reports

The new field PC_TYPE is added to the Daily Maintenance (MTCD) and Hourly Maintenance (MTCH)Per SSP reports for enttype=aiq, atinpq, lnp, np, or vflex. The PC_TYPE field is defined as the PointCode type with four valid values: ANSI, ITUI, ITUN, ITUN24. The PC_TYPE field differentiates PointCodes which are numerically identical but are of different types. The output reports can be obtainedusing the Measurements Control Platform, OAM-based, or E5-OAM Integrated Measurements collectionmethod.

Examples of Daily Daily Maintenance Measurements Per SSP FTP Command:

Support for the BLIXP GPL

A new BLIXP GPL is introduced. The BLIXP GPL is a flash GPL that contains a tar image with all ofthe previously independent flash GPLs required for E5-E1T1, E5-ENET, E5-SM4G, and HC-MIM cards. The BLIXP GPL is used to replace the BLBEPM, BLBIOS, BLBSMG, BLCPLD, BLDIAG6, BLROM1,BLVXW6, IMTPCI, and PLDPMC1 GPLs. The replaced GPLs are only available during upgrade to43.0 and during hardware replacement.

The act/init-flash, act/chg/rept-stat/rtrv-gpl, rept-meas, rept-stat/rtrv-card,and rtrv-stp commands are enhanced to support the BLIXP GPL.

Example 1 displays output for the rept-stat-card command.

High Capacity Multi-ChannelInterface Module

HC-MIM

A card that provides access to eightE1/T1 ports residing on backplaneconnectors A and B. Each datastream consists of 24 T1 or 31 E1 DS0signaling links assigned in atime-division multiplex (TDM)manner. Each channel occupies aunique timeslot in the data streamand can be selected as a localsignaling link on the interface card. Each card has 8 E1 or 8 T1 portinterfaces with a maximum of 64signaling links provisioned amongthe 8 E1/T1 ports.

High-Speed IMT Packet RouterHIPR

A card that provides increasedsystem throughput and trafficcapacity. HIPR moves EAGLE froman intra-shelf ring topology to anintra-shelf switch topology. HIPRacts as a gateway between theintra-shelf IMT BUS, running at125Mbps, and the inter-shelfoperating at 1.0625Gbps. The HIPRcard will seat in the same slot as anHMUX card (slots xx09 & xx10 ofeach shelf).

High-Speed IMT Packet Router 2HIPR2

A card that provides increasedsystem throughput and trafficcapacity on the existingFibre-Channel ring. A high rateFibre-Channel option of 2.5 Gbps isavailable when an EAGLE isprovisioned with all HIPR2 cards. In a mixed topology where a HIPR2is used in an EAGLE along withHMUX and HIPR, the Fibre-Channelring runs at the lower rate of 1.0625Gbps.
