MEET ONE OF OUR CLIENTSMETIS COMMUNICATIONS

Tekuma worked closely with the Metis team to co-ordinate the art in their new office space. Immediately we impressed them with our startup method to deliver fast results as efficient as possible. We curated each space with a unique theme. After the space was activated into an art gallery, employees shared photos of their workplace on social media and so did the artists that

were represented.

With 23 full-time employees and a global partner network, Metis Communications has been providing superior public relations client service

since 2005. A new startup within the marketing world, it was imperative that their space reflects their spirit and attitude.

THE METIS PROJECT CONCEPT

We crafted an art proposal suited to Metis’s needs. Our curators carefully looked at their commercial space and their company

brand to enhance employee and client experience.

Their desire to attract millenials was a clear motive to their space into a unique venue for art.

CUSTOMIZE 8 ROOMS

At Tekuma we believe every space should be made unique. Our expertise and process is to provide high quality personalization on themes or styles for

every space.

For Metis we exhibited one artist per space

This prompted guests of Metis to explore the whole office and experience a sense of community.

Tekuma is an emerging award-winning startup founded in 2015 at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in

Cambridge, USA

At the intersection of art, technology and real estate.

Our curation platform aims to solve the problem of exhibiting and buying art. Too much talent and creativity goes unseen

and lacks exposure. In the meantime, there is a lot of spaces with walls that could be authentic and unique. By embracing the sharing economy, we want to help people activate their living spaces into vibrant art galleries. Our vision is to build

the world’s largest gallery, unleashing the potential in millions of spaces and artworks.

MISSION

We want to democratize the arts by creating beautiful galleries everywhere. Bringing more culture to our everyday spaces.

We were students at the MIT School of Architecture & Center for Real Estate when we were inspired to create Tekuma. The idea stemmed when no one showed up to our final design presentation, this frustrated us as we

had no where to show our hard work. We thought why not just place the work in public spaces..

We got in trouble when we had a pop up gallery in the lobby of MIT’s business school. At midnight we went back to remove the art, but due to the rain we had another idea. Instead, we placed an artwork in every study room and placed a label which said ‘scan the code, pay for the art and take it’ . In a month we sold 7 out of 20. It was then we realized we did not just add value

to the art but to the experience of the space as well.

We embrace the challenge to solve the inefficiency in the art industry today. Traditional galleries have become outdated, quite elitist and are limited in

real estate. With so much creative talent and plenty of walls that need it, we had to do something to connect the two.

OUR STORY
