    2. AT CommandsThe CC864-DUAL can be driven via the USB or serial interface using the standard ATCommands.

    The CC864-DUAL is compliant with:

    TIA/EIA/707-A.3 AT Command.

Partial Hayes standard AT command set.

3GPP 27.005 specific AT Commands for Sending and writing SMS (ShortMessage Service).

Partially ETSI 3GPP 27.007 specific AT Commands for controlling voice andPhonebook.

The CC864-DUAL also supports the Telit proprietary Unified AT commands whereappropriate and technologically possible.

2.1. DefinitionsThe following syntactical definitions apply:

Carriage return character, is the command line and result code terminatorcharacter, which value, in decimal ASCII between 0 and 255, is specified withinparameter S3. The default value is 13.

Linefeed character, is the character recognized as the line feed character. Its value, in decimal ASCII between 0 and 255, is specified within parameter S4. The

default value is 10. The line feed character is output after carriage return character ifverbose result codes are used (V1 option used) otherwise, if numeric format resultcodes are used (V0 option used) it will not appear in the result codes.

Name enclosed in angle brackets is a syntactical element. They do not appearin the command line.

[] Optional sub-parameter of a command or an optional part of TA informationresponse is enclosed in square brackets. Brackets themselves do not appear in thecommand line. When sub-parameter is not given in AT Commands which have aRead command, new value equals to its previous value. In AT commands which donot store the values of any of their sub-parameters, and so have not a Readcommand, which are called action type commands, action should be done on thebasis of the recommended default setting of the sub-parameter.

2.2. AT Command SyntaxThe syntax rules followed by the Telit implementation of either TIA/EIA IS-707 ATCommands, QUALCOMM proprietary AT Commands are very similar to those ofstandard basic and extended AT commands.

There are two types of extended commands:

Parameter type commands:This type of command may be set (to store a value or values for later use), read(to determine the current value or values stored), or tested (to determine ranges ofvalues supported). Each of them has a test command (trailing =?) to give informationabout the type of its sub-parameters; they also have a Read command (trailing ?) tocheck the current values of sub-parameters.

Action type commands:This type of command may be executed. Executed to invoke a particular functionof the equipment, which generally involves more than the simple storage of a valuefor later use Action commands doesnt store the values of any of their possible sub-parameters.

2.2.1. AT Command LinesA command line is made up of three elements: the prefix, the body and thetermination character. The command line prefix consists of the characters AT or at, or, to repeat theexecution of the previous command line, the characters A/ or a/.The termination character may be selected by a user option (parameter S3), thedefault being .The basic structures of the command line are:

ATCMD1 where AT is the command line prefix, CMD1 is the body of abasic command and is the command line terminator character ATCMD2=10 where 10 is a sub-parameter. AT+CMD1;+CMD2=, ,10 These are two examples of extended

commands. They are delimited with semicolon. In the second command thesub-parameter is omitted.

+CMD1? This is a Read command for checking current sub-parametervalues

+CMD1=? This is a test command for checking possible sub-parametervalues

These commands might be performed in a single command line as shown below:

ATCMD1 CMD2=10+CMD1;+CMD2=, ,10;+CMD1?;+CMD1=?Anyway it is always preferable to separate into different command lines the basiccommands and the extended commands; furthermore it is suggested to avoid placingseveral commands in the same command line, because if one of them fails, then anerror message is received but it is not possible to determine which one of them hasfailed the execution.

If command V1 is enabled (verbose responses codes) and all commands in acommand line have been performed successfully, result codeOK is sent from the TA to the TE. If sub-parameter values of acommand are not accepted by the TA or command itself is invalid, or commandcannot be performed for some reason, result code ERROR issent and no subsequent commands in the command line are processed.

If command V0 is enabled (numeric responses codes), and all commands in acommand line have been performed successfully, result code 0 is sent from theTA to the TE. If sub-parameter values of a command are not accepted by the TA orthe command itself is invalid, or the command cannot be performed for somereason, result code 4 is sent and no subsequent commands in the commandline are processed.

Command line syntaxA command line consists of the Attention code followed by one or more commands, followed by the end of line code. The Attention code is the character pair AT or at.

By default, the end of line character is the ASCII CR character (decimal 13); unless itis changed by the S3 command (see the S-Registers Table). Spaces are ignored butmay be included between commands if desired.

The basic and S-register commands may follow each other on the command linewithout any separating delimiters. The extended format commands (those beginningwith a "+" character) must be terminated by a ";" if they are followed by anothercommand on the same line. A ";" is not required after the last command on the line.

Commands may be edited by pressing the backspace key. The backspace deletes thelast character in the command line. The backspace will not delete the AT at thebeginning of the line.

The extended commands use the extended syntax. To set a value using an extended

    command, use the WRITE command:

    +CMD=xxx

Where CMD is the command and xxx is the value.

Some extended commands take more than one value. For example, the WRITEcommand for two values becomes:

    +CMD=xxx,yyy

Some extended commands take character strings as values instead of numbers. Inthis case, the syntax is:

    +CMD=character string

Note that while spaces are ignored everywhere else, spaces are significant insidequotation marks.

To read back a value, use the READ command:

    +CMD?

To determine if a particular command is supported, along with the range of values itsupports, use the TEST command:

    +CMD=?

An extended command must be terminated with a semicolon if another command

follows it on a single line.

2.2.1.1. Message Service Failure Result Code - +CMS ERROR: This is NOT a command, it is the error response to +Cxxx SMS commands. Syntax:+CMS ERROR: Parameter: - numeric error code. The values are reported in the tablebelow:

    Numeric Format Meaning0-1 ME failure

    300 ME failure

301 SMS service of ME reserved

    302 operation not allowed

    303 operation not supported

2.3. Storage2.3.1. Factory Profile and User Profiles

Telit wireless modules store the values set by several commands in the internal non-volatile memory (NVM), even after power off. In the NVM these values are set eitheras factory profile or as user profiles. There are two customizable user profilesand one factory profile in the NVM of the device. By default the device will start withuser profile 0 equal to factory profile. For backward compatibility each profile is divided into two sections, one basesection, which was historically saved and restored in early releases of code, and theextended section which includes all the remaining values. The &W command is used to save the actual values of both sections of profiles intothe NVM user profile.Commands &Y and &P are both used to set the profile to be loaded at start-up. &Yinstructs the device to load at start-up only the base section. &P instructs the deviceto load at start-up the full profile: base + extended sections. The &F command resets to factory profile values only the command of the basesection of profile, while the &F1 resets to factory profile values to the full set of baseand extended section commands. The values set by other commands are stored in NVM outside the profile: some ofthem are stored always, without issuing any &W, some other are stored issuingspecific commands (+CSAS, #SLEDSAV, #VAUXSAV, #SKTSAV, #ESAV and$GPSSAV); all of these values are read at power-up.

The values set by following commands are stored in the profile base section:AUTOBAUD: +IPRCOMMAND ECHO: ERESULT MESSAGES: Q

VERBOSE MESSAGES: VEXTENDED MESSAGES: XFLOW CONTROL OPTIONS: &K

    DSR (C107) OPTIONS: &SDTR (C108) OPTIONS: &DDCD (C109) OPTIONS: &C

+CSMPStored by +CSAS command and restored by +CRES command.

    #SLED

    Stored by #SLEDSAV command.

    #VAUX

    Stored by #VAUXSAV command.

    #USERID, #PASSW, #PKTSZ,#DSTO, #SKTTO, #SKTSET

#SKTCTStored by #SKTSAV command and automatically restored at start-up; factory default values arerestored by #SKTRST command.
