TENDENZA ITALIA at the SIDIM 2018
PID Agency is a company that has been operating for over 30 years to promote design locally, nationally and
internationally from Montreal UNESCO City of Design. Its principal activities are:
• SIDIM – Montreal International Design Show;
• INTÉRIEURS magazine;
• GRANDS PRIX DU DESIGN awards.

The 30
th
edition of the SIDIM - MONTREAL INTERNATIONAL DESIGN SHOW will be held at Place
Bonaventure from April 26th to the 28th, 2018. It is an event that cannot be ignored in terms of design and
creativity. Also it is a foretaste of the trends that will furnish the homes, offices, shops and institutions of
tomorrow.
The MONTREAL INTERNATIONAL DESIGN SHOW is a traditional rendezvous for the design and
architectural industry presenting a multitude of discoveries!
Recognized as one of the most stylish fairs in North America, it is a must-see showcase where visitors
can attend new product launches, discover the latest trends in design and style, as well as make business
encounters.
It will enrich and cultivate the interest already shown by local Italian government entities, (Consolato
Generale d’Italia, Montreal, Istituto Italiano di Cultura, Montreal). As well as Canadian and Italian
enterprises that have already manifested a great interest in participating.
TENDENZA ITALIA is a project presenting Italian design companies, some already on the Canadian market
that they wish to reinforce and others in the process of discovering new business partners.
TENDENZA ITALIA will be dedicated to Italian life style at its best, offering exhibitors a true “Turn-
Key” area, personalised yet common to all participants and created to the specific needs of each for
shared space. The area allocated for TENDENZA ITALIA at SIDIM 2018, is at the SIDIM entrance
on the main aisle and next to the pressroom and the information desk. This ultimate placement is
considered a prime area, ensuring traffic and visibility at all times.
TENDENZA ITALIA will include five main areas (vignettes) of 600 square feet each, which can be
shared by more than one complementary company to create a “mise en scène” revealing Italian crea-
tivity or kept as a large space for a single company. The cost of these areas will be shared between
participants and gouvernment and private sponsors. See in the appendix the SIDIM plan.
TENDENZA ITALIA
• Dedicated to Italian life style at its best
• Offer exhibitors a true “Turn-Key” area, personalised yet common to all participants and created
to the specific needs of each for shared space
• Create multiple business opportunities for the participating companies and incite awareness
and attention in the Media (Quebec, Canada and International)
• Generate great economic and cultural developments
• Remind the SIDIM attendees of Italy`s leadership in matters of design.
• Placed at the entrance of the show on the main aisle, next to the information desk
and press room
• Timing is good with the new CETA agreement
• In addition, directly facing the five exhibition spaces, SIDIM is offering the space of a meeting
place: “Piazza Tendenza Italia”. It will embrace several smaller areas:
L’Incontro
• Seating and working area with chairs and tables will accommodate visitors, clients, pre-esta-
blished B2B meetings for Tendenza Italia exhibitors which will take place upon request of the
participants.
Il Bar
• Italian style coffee bar will be available during the three days of SIDIM, offering full Italian
coffee service and all of its traditions and culture;
• Stools and high bar style tables will invite visitors to take in the Italian Life Style, gather infor-
mation, and exchange with the Italian exhibitors and sponsors.
Il Cinema
• A closed area, darkened, where films on Italian design will be projected, animating the area. A
programme will be published and available to all visitors. Il Cinema will create an ambiance of
culture through design.
Conference
• The conference part of SIDIM will be held on the mezzanine of Place Bonaventure, directly
above TENDENZA ITALIA. Seminars present key-note speakers who will be invited to share
their know-how. Some of these seminars will be complements to the TENDENZA ITALIA project.
