2011 SEC Tournament Game Notes • Tennessee vs. #8 Florida or #9 Arkansas • Mar. 42011 SEC Tournament Game Notes • Tennessee vs. #8 Florida or #9 Arkansas • Mar. 4TODAY’S GAME The #4/4-ranked and the SEC’s top-seeded Tennessee Lady Vols (28-2, 16-0 SEC) will open play in their 32nd conference tournament taking on the winner of the #8 seed vs. #9 seed game. The 8th-seeded Florida Gators (17-13, 7-9 SEC) battled #9-seed Arkansas (18-10, 6-10 SEC) on Thursday, March 3 for the right to face the Lady Vols at the Bridgestone Arena at noon CT on Fri., Mar. 4. SportSouth has the broadcast. THINGS TO KNOW • Tennessee claimed the SEC regular season crown with the win over Georgia on Feb. 21 after clinching at least a share versus South Carolina on Feb. 17. • It marked the 16th time that the Lady Vols have won the SEC regular season title; UT has now won back-to-back titles in 2010 and 2011. In the regular season SEC fi nale victory over LSU, the Lady Vols extended their 2011 SEC record to 16 wins. A new program highwater mark due to the revised 16-game SEC schedule which went into effect in 2010. • The Big Orange has been fortunate to win 14 SEC Tournament titles taking the crown in 1980, 1985, 1988, 1989, 1992, 1994, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2010. • The Lady Vols would love to win the “daring double” by tacking on an SEC Tournament title to go along with the regular season crown. There have been six other times when UT won the regular season SEC title and went on to win the tournament championship: 1994, 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2010. • The Lady Vols have a 63-17 (.789) all-time record in the SEC Tournament dating back to 1980. •.Tennessee has faced Florida seven times in the SEC Tournament and sports a 7-0 record...6-0 in Second Round games and 1-0 in the Semifi nals. The last time UT faced the Gators at the SEC Tourney was 2009 in North Little Rock, Ark., taking a narrow 71-67 decision. The last time at the SEC Tournament in Nashville, Lady Vols opened with Florida and grabbed a 92-61 decision in 2008. • UT has faced 10 other league teams in the SEC Tournament all-time. Arkansas is the only team that Tennessee has never faced in the March spectacular. Auburn is UT’s most often faced opponent with 13 meetings. Next to zero encounters with the Razorbacks, the Lady Vols have only played South Carolina twice and enjoys a 2-0 SEC Tourna-ment record vs. the Gamecocks. •. The Music City hasn’t been particularly kind to the Lady Vols in the previous three appearances as UT has posted a 5-2 record. In 2002, UT defeated Georgia (81-67) but lost to LSU in the semis (81-80); in 2004, Tennessee defeated Mississippi State (67-57) but lost to Georgia in the semis (68-60 OT), and in 2008, Candace Parker and company went for the extended stay plan sweeping Florida (92-61), Vanderbilt (63-48) and LSU (61-55) in the title game. • Tennessee enters the game with Florida or Arkansas sporting the nation’s number fi ve strength of schedule and the sixth best RPI. Florida has an RPI of 48 and a strength of schedule at 15, while Arkansas has an RPI of 58 and a strength of schedule at 59. • In SEC games only, UT is winning by +24.1 ppg margin. • The victory over Florida on Feb. 10, 2011, was the 300th SEC league win all-time for the Lady Vols. UT owns a league best record of 305-40 (.879) against all SEC teams dating back to the 1982-83 season. • Tennessee owns a 443-66 record all-time record vs. 12 teams from the SEC. UT maintains a winning record against every team in the SEC. • The game with #22-ranked Georgia was the Lady Vols sixth of the season against a ranked opponent. With the win over UGA, UT is 4-2 vs. ranked teams this season. • Since Pat Head Summitt arrived as head coach at UT in 1974, the other 11 Southeastern Conference schools have seen a total of 68 coaches at the helm of their women’s basketball programs. Over the last 37 years, Tennessee

has enjoyed one head coach for Lady Vol hoops -- Sum-mitt. Next to Tennessee, Auburn, Georgia and Vanderbilt are the SEC programs with the next fewest head coaches over the 37 year span -- just four each.

4-1-1 ON FLORIDA In its last outing before facing Tennessee, Florida met Arkansas in the opening round of the SEC Tour-nament. Entering the game with the Razorbacks, the Gators had won their last three games with wins over Mississippi St. (78-63), at Vanderbilt (74-69) and #22-ranked Georgia (74-71). UF opened the 2011 SEC slate with a 64-53 win over then #22/24-ranked Arkansas in Gainesville.

TWOSIES WITH FLORIDA The Lady Vols played a pair of games against the Gators again this season. In the fi rst meeting in Gainesville on Jan. 13, the Lady Vols took an 83-40 win and on Feb. 10, UT claimed a 61-39 victory. Last season, UT also took a pair from UF winning 66-64 in Gainesville and 83-44 in Knoxville.

2011 UT MEETING AT FLORIDA After opening the conference slate with back-to-back blowout wins over SEC opponents in Knoxville, the No. 5/6 ranked Tennessee Lady Vols anticipated a stiffer test on the road against Florida on Jan. 13, 2011. Instead, UT got more of the same, overwhelming Flor-ida, 83-40, at the O’Connell Center. The Gator’s 40 points were the lowest scored by a UT opponent since San Francisco scored just 34 against the Lady Vols in Knoxville on Dec. 22, 2009. Tennessee raced to an 11-3 lead to start the game behind two quick baskets by redshirt junior Kelley Cain and a three and a layup from senior Angie Bjorklund, who scored all 16 of her points before intermission. Tennessee ended the fi rst half on a 25-4 run over the last 11 minutes of the fi rst half. Seven different Lady Vols scored during the run, which was capped by a deep three-pointer from Sim-mons just fi ve seconds before the intermission buzzer. UT held Florida to just one fi eld goal – a three pointer by Brittany Shine at the 2:49 mark – over that fi rst half 11-minute stretch to take a commanding 47-15 lead into the break. The game was so lopsided at halftime that Tennessee had more three pointers (7) than Florida had fi eld goals (6). The second half evoked more the same style of play. UT scored 10 consecutive points after a Florida three to start the second stanza, and the Orange never let up. Over its last three games including the win at UF, Tennessee out-scored its SEC opponents by an average of 49.3 points per contest. Against the Gators, junior Shekinna Stricklen recorded her second straight double double with 11 points and 12 boards, as classmate Glory Johnson fi nished with

12 points, nine boards and three blocks.

2011 UT MEETING IN KNOXVILLE Despite shooting just 38.5 percent from the fi eld, the fourth-ranked Tennessee Lady Vols were able to secure another blowout victory in the SEC with a 61-39 triumph over Florida on Feb. 10, 2011. Returning to Thompson-Boling Arena for the fi rst time in two weeks, the Lady Vols came out fl at, making just 9 of 27 fi eld goals in the fi rst half. Despite the poor shooting half, UT still led 27-18 at the break behind its strong defense. Florida shot just 21.9 percent in the fi rst half and 25 percent for the game, as UT forced 24 turnovers and turned those miscues into 27 points. The Lady Vols held the Gators to a 2010-11 season opponent-low of 39 points - the lowest total by a UT opponent since San Francisco tallied just 34 points on Dec. 22, 2009. As had been the common thread for the team, junior Shekinna Stricklen and Glory Johnson led the Lady Vols in scoring with 17 and 16 points, respectively. Stricklen was instrumental in Tennessee’s two big runs that clinched the game. After Florida took a 7-4 lead on a Ndidi Madu layup at the 15:16 mark, the Lady Vols went on a 14-0 run sparked by treys from Stricklen and sophomore Taber Spani to take an 18-7 lead just over 10 minutes into the contest. UT’s stingy defense held the Gators scoreless until the 9:32 mark after the Madu layup - a 5:44 span. UT opened the second half on all cylinders, scoring 12 straight points right out of the break. Stricklen had a couple of steals and a pair of assists on Glory Johnson layups during the game-breaking spurt that put Tennessee ahead, 39-18 with 16:37 left to play. Florida head coach Amanda Butler tried to stop the run with two timeouts in the fi rst three minutes of the second frame, but it was all for naught, as UT cruised to 14th straight victory and moved to 11-0 in the SEC. Stricklen scored 12 of her game-high 17 in the fi rst half, making 4-of-5 shots from the fi eld. She added four assists and three second-half steals. Redshirt junior Vicki Baugh also had great game, grab-bing seven boards and dishing three assists in just 13 minutes. Freshman Lauren Avant added a career-best seven points.

LADY VOL NOTABLES FOR BOTH 2011 GAMES In two games this season against the Gators, UT averaged 72.0 ppg while giving up 39.5 to UF. The Lady Vols shot just .437 from the fi eld (52-119)....424 (14-33) from three-point land... was .667 (26-39) from the char-ity stripe and controlled the boards, 49.5 to 38.5. Angie Bjorklund, Shekinna Stricklen and Glory Johnson all av-eraged double-fi gures with 16.0 ppg for Bjorklund and 14.0 for both Stricklen and Johnson. Angie B averageda ridiculous 33.0 mpg. Rookie Meighan Simmons aver-aged 9.0 ppg. UT played too loose with the rock turning the ball over to the Gators 17 times per game as UF picked UT’s pocket for 10 steals per game in the two 2011 meetings.

FLORIDA SERIES Tennessee leads the series with Florida, 42-3. UT has gone to overtime with the Gators in two of the last 11 meetings. In 2006, Florida became the fi rst unranked team to deal the Lady Vols a loss in Thompson-Boling Arena and the second home loss ever delivered by an unranked team in any Lady Vol Knoxville venue. The second Gator victory came in the 1997 meeting in Gainesville where Florida upended the eventual 1997 NCAA Champs, 71-62. The Gators victory in 2006 broke a 12-game winning run by the Lady Vols and spoiled “Senior Night” for Shanna Zolman and Tye’sha Fluker. 4-1-1 ON ARKANSAS In their last outing before facing Tennessee, Arkansas faced Florida in the opening round of the SEC Tournament. The Razorbacks started the non-conference season 12-0 and posted a 6-10 mark in the SEC. After Tennessee dealt UA a 72-53 loss on Jan. 30 in Fayetteville, the Hogs went 2-6 the rest of the way heading into Nashville.

2011 MEETING IN FAYETTEVILLE UT junior forward Shekinna Stricklen was glad to be home. The 6-2 Morrilton, Ark., native tied a career-high with 26 points, while leading the No. 5/6-ranked Tennessee Lady Vol basketball team to a 72-53 victory at Bud Walton Arena on Jan. 30, 2011.She fi nished 10-of-15 from the fi eld and 6-of-9 from three to go along with four boards. Her 10 fi eld goals tied a career best, while the six three-pointers set a new personal best. Sophomore wing Taber Spani also put on a show for family and friends who trav-eled from Lee’s Summitt, Mo., to see her play. She scored 18 points, including three treys. Sophomore Kamiko Williams added 10 points, while junior Glory Johnson recorded her third consecutive double double with 14 points and 12 rebounds, as well as three steals. With close to 60 family and friends mak-ing the short drive to Fayetteville, Stricklen shot out of the start like a cannon, making her fi rst four fi eld goal attempts, including her fi rst three trey tries. Her third trey of the game gave Tennessee a 16-12 lead with 11:21 remaining in the fi rst half. Arkansas kept it close in the fi rst half behind guard C’eira Ricketts (12 points) and center Sarah Watkins (15 points), butUT capped the opening stanza with an impressive run. The Lady Vols exploded for eight straight points in under a minute towards the end of the fi rst half to take a 39-27 lead into the break. A three-point swish from Spani at 2:13 sparked the run. She followed with another long jumper, before Stricklen capped the run with her fourth trey of the opening half with 1:17 to go before the intermission. Stricklen had 18 points in the fi rst half which tied her previous sea-son best. The Razorbacks made a brief run early in the second half, closing UT’s advantage to four points with 15:11 left in the game behind big three’s from Watkins and Lyndsay Harris. The Lady Vols

answered with an 11-3 run, however, and held UA to just six second half paint points and 33.9 percent shooting for the game.

2010 MEETING WITH ARKANSAS Tennessee enjoyed a signifi cant size advan-tage against Arkansas on Feb. 4, 2010 and used the edge to earn a 74-57 victory at Thompson-Boling Arena. Redshirt sophomore Kelley Cain and sophomore Alyssia Brewer dominated down low at both ends of the fl oor. On the offensive end, the pair combined for 34 points and eight offensive boards, and helped UT enjoy a 40-16 advantage in paint points. On the defensive end, the two combined for 18 boards and 10 blocks, while limiting the Razor-back starting post game to just two points and six total rebounds. Cain tied Ashley Robinson’s school record of eight blocks and posted a career-best 17 rebounds, while Brewer tallied her second career 20-plus point performance. Tennessee got the fi rst bucket of the game, a fastbreak layup by Shekinna Stricklen, and never looked back. UT also owned a 51-41 advantage on the glass. The Lady Vols’ top two scorers, junior Angie Bjorklund and Stricklen, combined for two points on 1-of-8 shooting in the fi rst half. The duo responded by going 9-of-16 for 27 points in the second half. Sophomore Glory Johnson came off the bench for the third time in 2009-10 and tallied fi ve points and six rebounds in 12 minutes of action. Freshman Kamiko Williams became the 59th rookie to start a game at Rocky Top, getting the nod at point guard, and fi nished with three points, two re-bounds and two assists in 17 minutes. The victory earned the Lady Vols their 34th consecutive season of at least 20 wins, tying the seventh fastest squad to the milestone and extended UT’s winning streak to 16 against the Razorbacks.

UT-ARKANSAS SERIES RANKINGS Tennessee has been ranked in all 23 meet-ings with Arkansas while the Razorbacks have been ranked in just fi ve meetings. The last time the two teams faced each other as ranked squads was in 2003 when #4-ranked Tennessee won 92-79 over #12-ranked Arkansas in Fayetteville.

UA SERIES TIDBITS Tennessee leads the all-time series with Ar-kansas 22-1, dating back to the 1991-92 season, the Lady’Backs’ fi rst in the SEC. Arkansas’ lone series win came at home on Dec. 29, 1996, a 77-75 victory over the Chamique Holdsclaw-led Lady Vols. Since then, UT has won 17 straight over Ar-kansas.

FIRST OT In 2007, Arkansas came close to spoiling Ten-nessee’s perfect run in the SEC with a near over-time upset in Fayetteville. UT led 62-59 with less than 15 ticks left when an unguarded Dominique Washington put up a trey with nine seconds left and missed. Arkansas teammate Tanisha Smith grabbed the offensive board and fed her again for the game-tying trey with 4 ticks to go. Candace Parker’s long attempt at the buzzer rimmed out. In the OT, Tennessee’s only extra time game of the 2007 NCAA Championship season, the Lady Vols took immediate control and outscored UA 13-6 in the extra stanza.

SEC MEDIA DAY PREDICTION The Tennessee Lady Vols were predicted to fi n-ish fi rst in a pre-season vote of the coaches and the league’s media members attending the Tip-Off 2011. The coaches accurately predicted Tennessee (#1), Kentucky (#2), Georgia (#4) and Auburn (#6).

SEC ANNOUNCES 2011 HONORS After going undefeated in 2011 SEC play, the University of Tennessee Lady Vols swept the trifecta of SEC Coach of the Year, Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year honors, announced the confer-ence offi ce on Mar. 1. Lady Vol Coach Pat Summitt collected her eighth SEC Coach of the Year award, while junior forward/guard Shekinna Stricklen (Mor-rilton, Ark.) was named the 2011 SEC Player of the Year and guard Meighan Simmons (Cibolo, Texas) was tabbed as the 2011 SEC Freshman of the Year. Additionally, UT junior post Glory Johnson (Knoxville, Tenn.) was also selected to the eight player SEC First Team and was also placed on the SEC All-Defensive squad in a vote by the league’s 12 coaches. This marks the second time Tennessee has swept the top three conference awards after Sum-mitt was named the 1998 SEC Coach of the Year, Chamique Holdsclaw was the 1998 SEC Player of the Year and Tamika Catchings was honored as the 1998 SEC Freshman of the Year. “I am so excited for, and proud of, Shekinna, Glory and Meighan,” Summitt said. “They have im-pacted our success in SEC play all season long and are very deserving of this recognition.” In her 37th season at the helm of the UT pro-gram, Summitt has accumulated 1,065 wins - more than any other Division I coach in the history of men’s or women’s college basketball. In addition to her eight NCAA Titles, eight SEC Coach of the Year Awards, seven NCAA Coach of the Year Awards and 18 NCAA Final Four appearances, the Henrietta, Tenn., native has coached 19 Kodak All-Americans, has a 100% graduation rate for student-athletes who exhaust their eligibility in Lady Vol uniforms and boasts two basket-ball courts and a gymnasium that bear her name. A junior for the Big Orange, Stricklen led her 2011 team in SEC scoring (13.8 ppg) while playing all fi ve positions on the fl oor. Asked to play inside, she grabbed 8.4 rebounds per game in SEC contests. Need help at guard? She buried 43 percent of her three-pointers (25-57) while dishing almost two as-sists per game. Stricklen is the fi rst Lady Vol to garner the award since Candace Parker in 2007. In addition to POY, Stricklen earned All-SEC First Team honors for the fi rst time after placing on the Second Team in 2009 and 2010 and All-Freshman team in 2009. “Shekinna has been a multiple threat for us this

season,” Summitt said. “I challenged her at the start of SEC play and she has really stepped up her game and played like an All-American.” Stricklen is joined on the All-SEC First Team by Johnson who is making her very fi rst appearance since earning 2009 SEC All-Freshman honors. The 6’3” leaper was also named to the six player 2011 SEC All-Defensive Team. This season, Johnson was selected as the 2011 SEC Player of the Week four times and was UT’s second leading scorer in SEC games at 13.7 ppg while posting 10.3 rpg. Simmons has been a dynamo for the Lady Vols all season. The overall scoring leader at 13.8 ppg, she was third on the UT team in SEC scoring at 11.3 ppg while dishing 3.4 helpers per game. Simmons was selected as the 2010-11 SEC Freshman of the Week three times. In addition to her Freshman of the Year honors and SEC All-Freshman Team selec-tion, she also earned a place on the All-SEC Second Team.

32 SEC APPEARANCES The Tennessee Lady Vols’ 2011 appearance in the SEC Tournament is the school’s 32nd time to the mini-Final Four. This season marks the 30th time that UT has received a fi rst round bye and the 16th trip as the No. 1 seed. The last two times the Lady Vols were the No. 1 seed? In 2007, they fell to LSU in the semifi nals, 63-54, but rebounded to win the next six games and NCAA title No. 7. In 2010, they won the SEC Tournament title with a win over Kentucky, 70-62 and lost in the Sweet 16 to Baylor, 77-62..

UT’s SEC TOURNAMENT W-L Since the tourney began in 1980, the Lady Vols sport the best overall record in the conference tourna-ment. UT has produced a 63-17 (.782) record which breaks down this way: vs. Alabama (9-2), vs. Auburn (9-4), vs. Florida (7-0), vs. Georgia (8-3), vs. Kentucky (4-1), vs. LSU (7-4), vs. Ole Miss (5-1), vs. Miss St. (4-0), vs. South Carolina (2-0), and vs. Vanderbilt (8-2). The Lady Vols have never faced Arkansas. (The SEC Offi ce record indicates that UT is 62-17 in SEC play. However, in the old format, there was a consolation game. In 1983, UT defeated Auburn, 83-75, in the consolation fi nals.)

BOWING OUT EARLY There have been four trips to the SEC Tourna-ment since 1980 when the Lady Vols didn’t even get to unpack their bags, losing in second round action af-ter receiving a bye. In 1981, Alabama sent UT packing after a 77-71 loss; in 1984, Alabama again provided the honors with a 85-66 drubbing; in 1986, Ole Miss dealt UT a 83-78 loss, and in 1993, Georgia provided UT with an early exit from Chattanooga, 73-72.

UT AND AUBURN FIND A WAY TO MEET In UT’s 80 all-time SEC Tournament games, Tennessee and Auburn have battled in over one-sixth of the contests or 13 games. The Lady Vols sport an 9-4 record in SEC Tournament action against the team from The Plains.

TWO SEC TOURNAMENT MEETINGS WITH USC Whereas the Lady Vols have played Auburn more times than any other SEC school in the Tourna-ment, Tennessee has faced South Carolina the least number of times (two games, 2-0) outside of never having faced Arkansas at all. Ironically, the fi rst meet-ing with South Carolina was (previously) the ONLY time UT had to play on the Tournament’s fi rst day – in 1997. That year, UT defeated USC, 75-48, beat LSU in overtime, 100-99, and lost to Auburn in the semifi -nals. The Lady Vols would not lose again that season winning the 1997 NCAA title with a 29-10 overall re-cord.

SIXTY IS SLICK The Tennessee Lady Vols recorded their 60th win all-time in the SEC Tournament with the win over #21/18 Florida, 71-67, on Mar. 6, 2009. In 2005, UT grabbed win number 50 with the victory over #18/17 Vanderbilt, 76-73, on Mar. 5, 2005. Vanderbilt is a distant second in all-time SEC Tournament wins with 42 and Georgia stands third with 40 wins all-time.

19 TIMES IN THE FINALS

The Championship game against Kentucky in the 2010 SEC Tournament marked the Lady Vols 19th incredible trip to the fi nal round of the nation’s toughest conference tournament. UT is 14-5 in all-time SEC Championship game meetings. In the 1990s alone, the Lady Vols were in the title game eight times (1990, 1991, 1992, 1994, 1995, 1996, 1998, 1999) against fi ve different SEC teams. In that decade, UT won titles in fi ve of the years – 1999 vs. Georgia, 85-69, 1998 vs. Alabama, 67-63, 1996 vs. Alabama, 64-60 (without Chamique Holdsclaw due to a knee injury suffered in the opening minutes of play), 1994 vs. Vanderbilt, 82-57 and 1992 vs. Georgia, 73-66. The Lady Vols have won titles in 2010, 2008, 2006, 2005, 2000, 1999, 1998, 1996, 1994, 1992, 1989, 1988, 1985, and 1980. The Lady Vols amassed a 16-3 record in SEC games played in Chattanooga and brought home four titles from that venue (1994, 1996, 1999 and 2000). In three SEC Championships in Nashville, UT took one title home in 2008.

DARING DOUBLES At the 2010 SEC Tournament, the Lady Vols ac-complished something they had not done in 10 years, win the “daring double” of the SEC regular season and SEC Tournament titles. Prior to last season, the last time UT accomplished the double was in the 1999-2000 season when UT won its sixth all-time D-D. Years when the Lady Vols won dual crowns were 1980, 1985, 1994, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2010. Only three other SEC schools have ever won both titles: Georgia (1983, 1984 and 1986), Auburn (1981 and 1987) and Kentucky (1982).

THE CENTURY MARK The Lady Vols have reached the century scor-ing mark four times in the SEC Tournament. In 1998, the Lady Vols derailed Vandy, 106-45. In the previous year, the Lady Vols scored 100 on LSU in overtime. Nine years earlier, in 1988, Tennessee nailed Ken-tucky for 100 points. And in the very fi rst SEC Tour-nament game in 1980, Tennessee crushed Florida, 118-44. That Florida team was then coached by UT assistant head coach Mickie DeMoss.

OUR SEC OVERTIME GAMES In 31 years and 80 games in the SEC Tourna-ment, the Tennessee Lady Vols have been involved in just two overtime contests. In 2004 in Nashville, Tennessee and Georgia met in the semifi nals on Mar.6. #20/16-ranked Georgia forced the overtime with the score knotted at 57-all. #1-ranked UT took a quick four-point lead but Georgia responded with a 7-0 run to take the 68-66 win and earned a trip to the title game. In Tennessee’s only other SEC overtime, in 1997, Tennessee snuck by LSU with a narrow 100-99 victory in overtime in second round play. In the next game, a weary UT squad lost a heartbreaker to Auburn, 61-59, in semifi nal action. The loss to Auburn was UT’s 10th on the season. It would be the last loss for the 1996-97 “Cinderella Season” team as they ran the table in the NCAA Tournament to claim NCAA title number fi ve.

TENNESSEE 2011 SEC GREATMELISSA McCRAY DUKES

Lady Vol Basketball -- 1985-1989 The Tennessee Lady Vol basketball family learned on Monday, Dec. 27, 2010, that Melissa Ann McCray Dukes had lost her long and hard fought battle with cancer. She was 43 years old. Nicknamed “Emma” by her Tennessee teammates, McCray Dukes played on four con-secutive NCAA Final Four teams (1986-87-88-89) and started as a guard on coach Pat Summitt’s fi rst two national championship teams in 1987 and 1989. “Melissa was one of the most incredible people you could ever meet,” Summitt said. “She fought cancer with the same determination and tenacity she showed on the basketball court. She went into every single day of her life as a winner.” McCray Dukes lived in Knoxville and re-mained close to her former teammates over the years. It wasn’t unusual for her to drop by prac-tice. When she played, her teammates called her the “mother hen.” Said Lady Vol teammate Sheila Frost on Feb. 11, 1989, “She kind of pulls us to-gether as a family,” Frost said of McCray. “We need a core like that. She’s been called the moth-er of our team since she was a freshman.” McCray Dukes was special. Even when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in Janu-ary 2006, she wanted to fi ght it privately at fi rst and not “burden anyone” with what she was going through. However, her friends and former team-mates coaxed her into revealing her fi ght and she served as an inspiration to others. She was the guest speaker many times at churches, women’s cancer support groups and at the UT Cancer Institute. When the cancer returned in 2009, she shared the importance of always fi ghting to the young 2008-09 Lady Vol basketball team – “whether it was basketball or your life, you fi ght.” She was always the Lady Vol. Her teammates voted her as the “Best De-fensive Player” for four consecutive seasons at UT. She didn’t throw up gaudy numbers in the box score but she was always the one to get a criti-cal basket or make a game-changing play. She was a member of the fi rst class of players (men or women), to play in the NCAA Final Four all four years of her career joined by Lady Vol classmates Bridgette Gordon and Sheila Frost. For her career, she scored 874 points, grabbed 376 rebounds and handed out 289 as-sists in 139 career games with 87 career starts -- she committed a total of just 164 turnovers in 2,892 minutes of play…an unmatchable statistic. She graduated from UT with a bachelor’s in po-litical science in 1989 and was a longtime employee of Knoxville law fi rm Lewis, King, Krieg & Waldrop, P.C. She was the wife to the Rev. John Dukes and mother to daughter Stephanie McCray, 20, and son Chandler Dukes, 16, who are at the 2011 SEC Tour-nament.

All-time, the Lady Vols have registered double-digit victories in conference play an incredible 17 times. DOUBLE DIGIT SEC WINS Against Kentucky on Feb. 10, the Lady Vols went to double-digit victories in SEC play for a re-cord 17th time. The victory over the Wildcats was Tennessee’s 10th on the season in SEC play. Last season, the Lady Vols won 15 games in the expand-ed SEC slate. WE ARE STINGY, I TELL YOU Tennessee’s streak of holding 11 consecutive opponents below 40 percent shooting from the fi eld ended at Kentucky when the Cats shot a sizzling 40.3 percent. The Lady Vols had held opponents from East Tennessee State (Dec. 22) to the Arkan-sas games (Jan. 30) to shooting just 30.4 percent from the fi eld (223-734) while winning the 11 games by a margin of +30.3 ppg. UT picked up a below 40% game from Florida to start a new streak -- the Gators managed just 25% FG shooting in Knoxville on Feb. 10 and were followed with sub-40 games from Vandy (37%), South Carolina (34%), Georgia (25%), Ole Miss (31%) and LSU (.313.

SEC TEAMS WITH DOUBLE DIGIT WINS Three SEC schools holding double-digit wins over the Lady Vols all-time. Auburn has 10 wins against 34 losses and is joined by Georgia with 15 wins (against 41 losses) and LSU with 12 victories (against 41 defeats). Outside of these SEC schools, only four of Tennessee’s other 170 opponents have ever recorded double-digit wins over the Lady Vols.

RARE SEC ROAD LOSSES FOR SUMMITT Lady Vol coach Pat Summitt’s teams rarely lose on the road in the SEC but 2008-09 was the exception with fi ve losses on the road against just two wins. The loss to Vanderbilt on Jan. 11, 2009 was the 30th SEC road loss suffered by a Summitt-coached Lady Vol team and halted a 17-game SEC road winning streak. Two weeks later, UT also lost, this time at #6/5 Auburn and two weeks after that #11/13 Florida defeated the Lady Vols. Add another two weeks and another SEC road loss for UT, this time a 66-56 decision a the hands of the Kentucky Wildcats and a week later it was a road loss at LSU, 63-61. Last season, Georgia tagged the Lady Vols with a regular season SEC loss for the fi rst time since the Bulldogs prevailed 78-51 on Jan. 17, 2000.

AMAZING AT HOME VS. THE SEC Since Tennessee began contesting games with SEC opponents, the Lady Vols have produced a 185-12 record in home games. Only six SEC teams have ever managed a victory over the Lady Vols in Knoxville – Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU and Ole Miss. Georgia has won three games on UT’s turf while Auburn, Kentucky, Ole Miss and LSU have registered two wins each and Florida one win. Georgia was the only team to defeat UT at home in the 1990s (1991 & 1996). LSU and Florida are the only SEC teams to defeat UT at home in the 21st century.

UT WINNING STREAKS VS. SEC TEAMS Tennessee holds a winning streak over every SEC team. The Lady Vols sport 30-plus game win-ning streaks over three SEC teams -- South Caro-lina 40, Alabama 37, and Mississippi State 32. Five conference foes broke Lady Vol winning streaks in the 2008-09 season when Auburn, Kentucky, LSU and Vanderbilt all tagged UT with a loss. SHE LIKED THIS COMBO After tinkering with six starting line-ups in the fi rst 13 games, Lady Vol coach Pat Summitt settled into the longest tenured starting fi ve of the season in Meighan Simmons, Angie Bjorklund, Taber Spani, Shekinna Stricklen and Kelley Cain. This quintet started and won eight games together. Their starting act broke up for Mississippi State when Bjorklund was sidelined with a sprained right foot and Cain fell ill on game day. Sum-mitt reached into her bag of tricks and brought out the starting fi ve from the Lamar game (8th game of the sea-son) -- Simmons, Spani, Stricklen, Glory Johnson and Kamiko Williams. Against Arkansas, she introduced the eighth starting fi ve of the season with Bjorklund still side-lined. Line-up number nine was unveiled at Vanderbilt as Vicki Baugh earned a starting nod over Kelley Cain. After her outstanding play off the bench at Vanderbilt, Lyssi Brewer got the starting nod in games 27-29 for the 10th combo of the season.

GREAT ATTENDANCE THIS SEASON Tennessee eclipsed 100,000 fans at home on Jan. 9 against Ole Miss for an amazing 17th consec-utive year. The Lady Vols currently average a nation leading 13,078 fans per home game in 2010-11 in 15 home games as 196,173 have clicked through the turnstiles.

SEC PLAYER OF THE WEEK FOUR TIMES Lady Vol junior forward Glory Johnson was named the SEC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for the fourth time this season on Feb. 28. She is the only player to have been selected for the top SEC honor more than twice in the 2010-11 season. In three wins last week, Johnson continued to shine for the Lady Vols turning in 14.0 ppg and 11.3 rpg in victories over #22 Georgia, at Ole Miss and LSU to conclude the regular season. In continuing to lead the Lady Vols in league play, Johnson av-eraged a double-double in SEC play with 13.7 ppg and 10.3 rpg. She’s the fi rst Lady Vol since Candace Parker in 2006-07 to perform that feat in conference play. Against Georgia, Johnson became the 36th Lady Vol to score 1,000 career points on a free throw at the 13:26 mark in the second half. She fi nished with nine points and ripped down 9 rebounds. At Ole Miss in the rain shortened game, the Knoxville, Tenn., native made her fi rst six shots and fi rst four free throws. She fi nished with 18 points (on 7-of-10 shooting), nine boards, three assists and four steals. Johnson scored or assisted on the Lady Vols’ fi rst nine points, making a jumper in the lane and dish-ing assists on three other buckets. UT opened the

At the 7:20 mark in the second half, Johnson grabbed a steal and attempted a dunk for the second time this season, but missed as it rimmed out. In the regular season fi nale against LSU, Johnson coupled solid offense with aggressive de-fense and secured her 10th double-double of the season and 20th of her career with 15 points and 16 boards as well as two blocks against LSU. She is the only player in the conference to capture the POW award four times this season. Johnson previ-ously earned the honor this season on Nov. 29, Jan. 3 and Jan. 31.

SENIORS SALUTED In the fi nal regular season home game ver-sus LSU on Feb. 27, 2011, Lady Vol seniors Angie Bjorklund and Sydney Smallbone were saluted. Over the past four years, they have accumulated an overall record of 118 wins and just 18 losses – an 87 percent winning percentage. Against SEC opponents, they have an outstanding 53-7 record! The seniors have made one trip to the NCAA Final Four…winning the 2008 Championship! They have also captured two SEC regular season crowns and two SEC Tournament titles. If you looked up the term “perfect teammate” in the dictionary, Sydney Smallbone’s picture would accompany the defi nition. You’ll always notice her as the player constantly encouraging her team-mates. For four years, she has played whatever role her coaches asked her to play. When she came to Tennessee, she had the Lady Vol DNA of dedica-tion, desire, drive and determination. Putting on the orange and white uniform did not make her a Lady Vol; her hard work did. During her career, she has played in 103 games and earned 10 career starts…She has scored 263 points, grabbed 91 rebounds, dished 69 assists and snagged 30 steals…Three times, she has connected in double-fi gures scor-ing…Syd etched her name in the Lady Vol record books for the fourth most three-pointers by a rookie with 4…She recorded a career high 12 points ver-sus Virginia, grabbed 4 rebounds against Lamar and dished a career best 4 assists versus Middle Ten-nessee…In the drive to the 2008 NCAA Tournament, she provided solid back-up minutes en route to the championship as a freshman. Senior Angie Bjorklund is the fi rst Lady Vol to hail from the state of Washington…Something has always been long distance about her game. She rolled into Knoxville with a deadly three-point shot and made an immediate impact as the 10th Lady Vol rookie to start her very fi rst game on Rocky Top…Lethal from behind the arc, she has shattered Ten-nessee’s three-point records for most threes made (288) and most three’s attempted (711) in a career… She has swished seven three-pointers in a game three times while wearing the Orange & White… Perhaps the deadliest deep shooter ever to suit-up in the Lady Vol backcourt, she has amassed some solid career numbers – 1,406 career points, 368 ca-reer rebounds, 280 assists and 114 career steals. During her Lady Vol career, she has played in 125 games with 110 starting assignments…Like the En-ergizer Bunny, she just keeps on going -- averaging almost 30 minutes per game for her career…She has tallied double-fi gure scoring 70 times…Her ca-reer highs include 29 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals . She is a fi nalist for the 2011 Lowe’s Senior Class Award has been a nominee for the

Naismith Award, the Wooden Award and the Wade Trophy… Last year she was named an honorable mention All-American by the Associated Press…She was a member of the 2008, 2009 and 2010 All-SEC teams…She was the 2008 SEC Rookie of the Year and a two-time member for the Capital One Aca-demic All-America team in 2010 and 2011, as well as the 2010 SEC Scholar Athlete of the Year and a four year member of the All-SEC Academic Team…She will graduate with a degree in Psychology.

DAD IN THE HOUSE Sophomore Kamiko Williams got a surprise at the LSU game on Feb. 27 in Knoxville. When the team returned to the fl oor from halftime, Williams’ mom, Angelits, and little brother Keynante, got Ka-miko’s attention and pointed the the guy standing next to them. It was her dad Vincent who surprised the family with a 15-day leave. Master Sergeant Williams has been serving with the U.S. Army in Af-ghanistan.

FROM THE TRAINING ROOM Lady Vol rookie Lauren Avant suffered a concussion in the Ole Miss game and did not play versus LSU on Feb. 27. Kelley Cain missed the Georgia, Ole Miss and LSU games last week get-ting some rest for her hip/back. Cain returned to the practice fl oor on Mar. 1 and is expected to be a full go at the SEC Tournament.

ACADEMIC SUCCESS TOO Senior Angie Bjorklund was named to the 2010-11 Capital One Academic All-America® Women’s Basketball second team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Feb. 24. Bjorklund is a repeat selection as an Academic All-America® in the University Division – last season she was named to the fi rst team. She is the fourth Lady Vol to capture Academic All-America honors twice, joining Candace Parker (fi rst team 2008, second team 2007), Tanya Haave (fi rst team 1984, second team 1983) and Jill Rankin (fi rst team 1980, second team 1979)

A LADY VOL FIRST Over the years, the Lady Vols have experi-enced some interesting occurrences over the course of 1,262 games under Coach Pat Summitt. Dive-bombing yellow jackets and birds, playing on a lino-leum fl oor, playing outside in a baseball stadium in December...but never has a game been called due to rain. Such was the case at the Tad Smith Coli-seum at Ole Miss on Feb. 24. Winds in excess of 50-mph caused sideways blowing rain to enter roof vents above the court which then cascaded down to the playing fl oor with 5:24 to go in the game and the Lady Vols leading 66-39. SEC league offi cials and both coaches were consulted before the game was called.

ROCKY TOP ROOKIES At Tennessee, four rookies have managed to lead the team in scoring (from start to fi nish) all-time...Bridgette Gordon (14.1 ppg) was the fi rst to do so in 1985-86. She was followed by: Chamique Holdsclaw (16.2 ppg) in 1995-96, Candace Parker (17.3 ppg) in 2005-06 and Shekinna Stricklen (13.3 ppg) in 2008-09. Rookie Meighan Simmons is cur-rently leading the Lady Vols with 13.8 ppg.

KING ME Tennessee captured the 2011 SEC league title with the win over Georgia on Feb. 21 in Thompson-Boling Arena. It was the 16th SEC regular season title and second in a row for UT. The Lady Vols also claimed SEC titles in 1980, 1985, 1990, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2007 and 2010. It marks the ninth Lady Vol team to do so joining the perfect teams of 1993, 1994, 1995, 1998, 2001, 2003, 2004 and 2007.

LEADING AT THE BREAK The Lady Vols have led at halftime in 25 of 30 games this season. The Lady Vols trailed 29-22 af-ter the opening 20 minutes against #12/13-ranked Georgetown and never recovered losing the game, 68-59. Number 2/3-ranked Baylor grabbed a 13 point lead, 34-21, and the Lady Vols lost 65-54 in Waco. Tennessee come out sluggish vs. Mississippi State on Jan. 27 and trailed 37-35 at the half. The Lady Vols righted the ship and outscored the Lady Bulldogs, 46-18 in the second half. At Kentucky, UT was behind most of the fi rst half before trailing 33-30 at the break. The Lady Vols won the game in the paint and second chance points in the second half in the 73-67 win. Tennessee was horrifi c at Vanderbilt and scored just 15 fi rst half points and trailed by 13 at the half, 28-15. The Orange came roaring back with 50 second half points vs. VU to win, 65-57. On average, UT holds a 37.8 ppg to 25.8 ppg halftime lead. The Lady Vols outscore the opposition 40.3 ppg to 28.4 ppg in the second stanza.

POSTING POINTS IN THE PAINT Tennessee staked a claim in the paint this sea-son behind 6’6” redshirt junior Kelley Cain and 6’3” junior Glory Johnson. In 30 games, the Lady Vols failed to dominate the paint in four games and tied once (20 each vs. LSU2), Vanderbilt and Stanford in Knoxville, at Baylor and versus Georgia Tech. In the contest against the Commodores in Knoxville, VU scored 22 paint points to the Lady Vols’ 16. Versus Stanford, the Cardinal outscored UT, 28-24. Baylor held the Lady Vols to a season low 10 paint points while cashing in on 26. Finally, Georgia Tech nipped UT in the paint, 22-20. UT scored a season high 46 points in the paint versus both LSU1 and Texas and held Ole Miss2, Florida and Alabama to just 12 points in the paint.

THROWBACK 21 IN THE HOUSEAfter Lady Vol junior Vicki Baugh tied season

bests with nine points and seven rebounds in 16 minutes off the bench against Georgia, she came back with an even better effort at Ole Miss. Baugh scored seven straight Tennessee points over a two-minute span, making a pair of free throws at the 12-minute mark in the second half before hitting a jumper and completing a three-point play with 9:55 left in the game. On the night, she scored a season-best 12 points on 4-of-4 shooting from the fi eld and 4-of-5 makes at the line to go along with fi ve boards. Her 12 points was just one off of her career high. Against the Lady Bulldogs, she also had a season-best three blocks and made all four of her fi eld goal attempts. Baugh’s game resembled her freshman campaign of 2007-08 -- fl uid and effortless. Ten-

nessee fans gave her a standing ovation after her play at the 13:06 mark in the second half. Baugh ripped down a defensive rebound and raced down the court, weaving in-and-out of defenders, before making a layup to complete the coast-to-coast play.

“OUR MOST COMPLETE GAME OF THE SEASON” On her weekly conference call, Lady Vol Coach Pat Summitt called the 77-44 win over #22-ranked Georgia on Feb. 21 as the Lady Vols “most complete game” of the season. She cited the contributions of 11 players (Kelley Cain was sidelined and did not play). UT outscored Georgia by 33 points and grabbed 16 more rebounds than the Lady Bulldogs.

GLORY JOINED 1000 POINT CLUB Lady Vol junior Glory Johnson became the 36th Lady Vol to score 1,000 career points on a free throw at the 13:26 mark in the second half of the game versus Georgia on Feb. 21. She fi nished with nine points and now has 1,002 for her career. She joins Angie Bjorklund (1,389) and Shekinna Stricklen (1,210) as current Lady Vols in the 1,000-point club. Earlier this season, on Dec. 22, 2010, Stricklen went over the 1000 point mark against ETSU. Senior An-gie Bjorklund eclipsed 1000 points in the game at Ole Miss last year.

HOLDING COURT After missing the six previous games, senior Angie Bjorklund checked in at the Georgia game at the 13:38 mark in the fi rst half and played in her fi rst game since Jan. 23 at Auburn. Bjorklund scored three points, grabbed two boards and logged an as-sist, a blocked shot and a steal in 11 minutes. Her only bucket was a trey, stretching her Lady Vol re-cord to 284 three-pointers made for her career.

WELCOME BACK STRANGER Junior Alyssia Brewer joined the starting car-ousel versus the Gamecocks, it was her fi rst start since March 27, 2010 – Tennessee’s Sweet 16 loss to Baylor to end the 2009-10 season. She started the fi nal seven games of the 2009-10 season after picking up SEC Sixth Player of the Year and 2010 SEC Tournament MVP honors. It marked the 14th start of her career. Slowly returning from Achilles tendon surgery, Brewer came into the game with a season high of fi ve points at Vanderbilt on Feb. 13, but against USC she made her fi rst two baskets, her fi rst three free throws and had seven points by the 14:55 mark after converting both parts of an And-1 layup to put the Lady Vols ahead, 11-7. On good ole Rocky Top, Tennessee is entertaining the home fans to a scoring bonanza this season averaging 85.9 ppg on The Summitt while holding the oppo-nents to just 54.0 ppg. No wonder the Lady Vols average a nation leading 13,078 fans per game.

LOTS OF LOVE AT HOME The Lady Vols have a 34-game home court winning streak on “The Summitt.” Currently, it is the fourth longest active streak in the NCAA for women’s hoops. The Lady Vols went undefeated at home last season at 17-0 and have not lost a game in Thomp-son-Boling Arena since Feb. 16, 2009 (a 62-64 loss to Duke). The 34-game streak is the fourth longest in Lady Vol history. Tennessee has an all-time home-court winning streak at 69 games. Connecticut passed the Lady Vols for the all-time NCAA mark with 78 games. The two teams previously shared the record.

CURRENT NCAA HOME COURT WINNING STREAKS Connecticut leads the nation with the longest (current) home court winning streak at 78 games. The Huskies are followed by Stanford’s 60 consecu-tive wins at Maples; Florida Gulf Coast with 38 wins; and Tennessee with 34 victories.

UT SWEPT WEEKLY SEC AWARDS The Lady Vols swept the Southeastern Con-ference’s weekly women’s basketball awards on Feb. 14 with junior Shekinna Stricklen earning SEC Player of the Week and freshman Meighan Sim-mons capturing the SEC Freshman of the Week honor. Stricklen averaged 17.0 ppg, 9.0 rpg and 1.7 spg in three wins. At No. 15/18 Kentucky on Feb. 7, the Morrilton, Ark., native recorded her eighth double-double of the season, tallying 20 points and 12 boards in the 73-67 victory. She followed with 17 points and six boards in the 61-39 win over Florida on Thursday before recording 14 points and nine boards in the 65-57 comeback win at Vanderbilt. She scored 12 points in the second half against the Commodores, as the Lady Vols erased a 13-point halftime defi cit. The honor is Stricklen’s fourth ca-reer SEC POW award. She captured the accolade three times in 2009-10. Stricklen joins classmate Glory Johnson (three times) as Lady Vols that have won the SEC POW this season. Simmons was named the SEC Freshman of the Week for the third time of her inaugural campaign, after scoring 9.3 ppg and grabbing 1.7 rpg for the week. Against the Wildcats, Simmons scored 15 points and made some clutch shots down the stretch in the come-from-behind win in Lexington. Simmons’ three with 4:25 left in the game put UT ahead, 65-61. She also increased UT’s cushion to 71-67 with two clutch free throws with 15 seconds left in the contest. Against the Commodores, Simmons again was ice-in-the-veins, swishing a trey with 5:54 left in the game to give UT a 44-42 advantage – and its fi rst lead since being up 5-2 at the 16:01 mark of the fi rst half. She followed with a key steal and a fastbreak bucket two minutes later. She fi nished with nine points and three assists.

SIMMONS NAMED TO NAISMITH LIST UT rookie Meighan Simmons also joined senior Angie Bjorklund on the 2010-11 Naismith Award Midseason List announced by the Atlanta Tipoff Club on Feb. 14. Simmons was the only freshman selected for the 30-player list. Bjorklund was named to the preseason list for the award, which will be given to the nation’s top player on April 4 at the NCAA Women’s Final Four in Indianapolis, while Simmons was added for the midseason list.

BAUGH EARNED A NOD Redshirt junior Vicki Baugh picked up a start-ing assignment against Vanderbilt on Feb. 13. It marked her fi rst start since Dec. 30, 2008, when she scored 12 points and had 15 rebounds at Gonzaga. It was the 11th start of her career.

HOLY SMOKES BATMAN Tennessee blasted out the blocks in SEC play this season. Through 16 games, the Lady Vols have rejected 98 shots for a ridiculous 6.3 bpg aver-age. UT’s opponents are shooting just 31% from the fi eld and 26% from the three point line.

ANGIE B A FINALIST Twenty NCAA® men’s and women’s student-athletes who excel both on and off the court were selected as fi nalists on Jan. 26 for the Lowe’s Se-nior CLASS Award in basketball and Tennessee’s Angie Bjorklund made the short list for women’s hoops. and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence – community, classroom, character and competition. The fi nalists were chosen by a media committee from the list of 60 candidates announced in November. Nationwide fan voting begins immedi-ately to determine the winner. THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE HOME This season at home, the Orange and White hold a perfect 15-0 mark, winning each contest by at least 10 points but an overall average of +31.9 (85.9 ppg to 54.0 ppg). At TBA, the Big Orange has shot .475 from the fi eld, while holding the opposition to a .318 shooting percentage...In three of the 14 home games, the Lady Vols have tallied double-digits in three-pointers made, including a school-record 15 against Chattanooga and Lamar. Tennessee is out-rebounding opponents by +12.9 -- 48.4 to 35.4. For some reason, the Lady Vols take better care of the ball at home with just 12.9 miscues per contest and dish 17.0 assists per game.

FACING FORMER LADY VOLS Tennessee Coach Pat Summitt faced a num-ber of former Lady Vol players and staffers in the coaching ranks on the opposing sidelines this sea-son: Nikki McCray (South Carolina), Carla McGhee (Auburn), Angel Elderkin (Virginia), and Matthew Mitchell, Kyra Elzy and Shalon Pillow (Kentucky).

FREE THROW DEFENSE -- SOME HOPE UT has been pretty bad from the charity stripe this season but turned the corner in the New Year. Tennessee connected on a season high 83.8 per-cent against Alabama (31-37) after connecting on 82.6 percent (19-23) from the charity strip at LSU. In Baton Rouge, UT hit 13 in a row before missing with 5:36 left in the game. Typically this season, free throws have felt like turnovers for some of the Lady Vols. UT has moved up to 206th in the nation after sinking to a dismal 310th out of 333 teams from the charity stripe to start the season.

LADY VOL STREAKS The Lady Vols last loss at home was against Duke, 62-54, on Feb. 16, 2009, since then UT has won 34 home games. The last time UT lost on the road was on Dec. 14, 2010 at Baylor, since then, UT has won eight road games. The last time the Lady Vols lost on a neutral court was against #13/12 Georgetown, 69-58, on Nov. 27, 2010. Since that time, UT has not played on a neutral court.

LADY VOLS ON TV--NO SECRETS Currently, 25 of 30 Lady Vol regular season games are slated for television this season airing on ESPN (1 game), ESPN2 (4 games), ESPNU (2 games), FSN/FOX Sports and SportSouth (9), Com-cast (7), SEC Network (2) and CBS College Sports (1). Upcoming TV games include: SEC Tournament. UT is 25-1 on TV in 2010-11. Last season, the Lady Vols were 30-3 on TV. In the 2007-08 season, UT had a school record 36 television appearances.

WELCOME TO “THE SUMMITT” The playing court in the Thompson-Boling Are-na on the University of Tennessee campus donned a new look for the 2005-06 season. After Lady Vol coach Pat Summitt passed Dean Smith for most NCAA collegiate basketball wins of all-time with a 75-54 win over Purdue on Mar. 22, 2005, UT named the TBA court, “The Summitt.” The fl oor had a complete overhaul with permanent logos of both the Lady Vols and Vols painted directly in front of the scorer’s table; the free throw lanes were painted orange with “SEC” reversed out; the giant jump circle/mid-court TEN-NESSEE was given a new brighter color scheme, and “The Summitt,” Coach Summitt’s actual signa-ture adorns the sidelines opposite the team benches.

300 WINS IN TBA Tennessee recorded its 300th win in Thomp-son-Boling Arena when the Lady Vols defeated the Stanford Cardinal, 79-69 OT on Dec. 21, 2008. Seven years earlier, UT grabbed its 200th TBA win over the University of Southern California on Nov. 18, 2001, 106-66. UT has now amassed a 339-20 (.942) record since the Orange and White moved into the Thompson-Boling Arena to start the 1987-88 season 23-years ago. Along the way, the Lady Vols have produced 10 fl awless home records in 1988-89 (15-0), 1991-92 (14-0), 1992-93 (13-0), 1993-94 (15-0), 1994-95 (15-0), 1997-98 (16-0), 1998-99 (14-0), 2000-01 (15-0), 2002-03 (16-0) and 2009-10 (17-0). UT also registered a former NCAA record 69-game

home court-winning streak from Feb. 1, 1991 thru Jan. 2, 1996.

JUST 20 LOSSES The Tennessee Lady Vols rarely lose at home. In fact, since moving to the Thompson-Boling Arena for the 1987-88 campaign, UT has lost two games in one season just seven times. UT lost two games in TBA during the inaugural 1987-88 campaign, 1996-97, 1999-00, 2001-02, 2003-04, 2005-06 and 2008-09 seasons. The 20 all-time losses at TBA have come at the hands of just 10 teams: Virginia (2008), Florida (2006), LSU (2008, 2006), Duke (2009, 2007, 2004), Connecticut (2004, 2002, 2000, 1996), Louisi-ana Tech (1999, 1989), Georgia (1996, 1991), Texas (2003, 2002, 1987), Stanford (1996) and Auburn (1988).

HOME SWEET HOME -- OVER 400 HOME WINS The victory over Georgia on Jan. 31, 2005, was the Lady Vols 400th home win since Pat Sum-mitt took over as head coach in 1974. Summitt has won 91.4 percent of all home games in 37 years pro-ducing a 493-45 overall record. Home losses (in the Summitt era) include: six in Alumni Gym from 1974-76; 19 in Stokely Athletics Center from 1976-87; and 20 in Thompson-Boling Arena.

100 POINT GAMES Since 1974, the Lady Vols have gone over the century mark 76 times. The 1987-88 team hit triple digits in seven games to lead the NCAA. UT has a record of 73-3 all-time in 100-point games and a 51-0 record when hitting the century mark at Thompson-Boling Arena

IN OVERTIME Tennessee is 28-13 all-time in overtime games. The most OT games in a year was tied in 2003-04 with four as the Lady Vols went 3-1 in overtime los-ing to Georgia, 68-66, and defeating Auburn, 68-61, DePaul, 96-89, and Stanford, 70-66. It tied the mark set in 1996-97, when the Lady Vols were 3-1 in over-time contests losing to Georgia, 94-93, and defeating Texas, 68-65, Vanderbilt, 92-79 and LSU, 100-99. UT’s 22 points in the OT against Florida (2-3-05), was the most ever scored by the Lady Vols in a single overtime. UT’s most recent OT affair was a 82-72 win over Stanford on Dec. 19, 2010, at home.

LADY VOLS OWN ALL-TIME WINS MARK Tennessee is the all-time wins leader in the NCAA with 1156 victories. The next closest program all-time in terms of wins is Louisiana Tech, which owns a 976-204 record. The Lady Vols boast a 1,158-255-2 (.817) all-time record.

STAFFERS HAVE, BUT NEVER A PLAYER No former Lady Vol who has joined the colle-giate coaching ranks has ever beaten Head Coach Pat Summitt.

RAINING THREES Release. Rotation. Swish. The Lady Vols have had a lot of great shooters since Pat Sum-mitt took over the program 36 years ago. Angie Bjorklund ranks right with the best. A 6-0 wing with unlimited range, Bjorklund became the next in a line of prolifi c three-point shooters to don the Orange and White – following in the footsteps of players like Shanna Zolman, Kara Lawson, Sid-ney Spencer and Tiffany Woosley. Bjorklund became the Tennessee career leader in three-pointers on Dec. 30 versus Rut-gers when she made her 267th three at the 18:34 mark in the fi rst half to surpass Zolman’s old mark of 266. Bjorklund’s career-leading total has now reached 288 treys. She also ranks fi rst in three-point fi eld goals attempted with 712 and fi fth in three-point shooting percentage at .404.
