History of Tennis

• Tennis was made thousands of years ago by monks in Europe who played it for entertainment during religious ceremonies.

• When tennis first started it was played with only hands.

What is a tennis ball made of?

• Tennis balls are made of a rubber core with a felt cover. The seam is made of the glue used to put the felt onto the rubber.

• Most tennis racquets are made of graphite composites.
