Player Card

The information held on your account profile is managed in a secure manner and in accordance with the

provisions of the Data Protection Act.

Please see the Tennis Ireland Privacy Policy at the end of this document for further information.

The Player Card is the first page that you see when you log in to the National Player Database.

It contains basic information about you and can be accessed by other players, coaches and Tournament

Directors.

Results from competitive matches will be added to your record and used by the ITN Grading calculation

to change your ITN value over time.

The centre of the page shows your name, Tennis Ireland Personal Identification Number and primary

club. If you wish, you can load a photograph or image to your account.

The right side of the page displays your current ITN grade, who allocated the value and the historical

changes that have been made over time.

The left side of the panel displays the options that you can select from your account. If you have been

authorized by your club or Tennis Ireland, additional options will appear here.

Results

Results for competitive matches will used for ITN grading purposes. The results can be entered in a

number of ways:

You enter your own individual results (as long as they are not part of a formal tournament under the

control of an authorised official). The match should have been declared as a grading match and agreed

with the other player(s). The result will be entered on your account and also on the account of each of

the other players. The result will be marked “U” – unverified – until verified by an authorised official i.e.

coach/tennis captain, etc.

Officials can also delete results if they are deemed invalid or duplicate entries.

Results of tournaments, league matches and general competitions will be entered automatically by the

official managing the event. These results will be marked as verified “V” immediately.

Verified results will be used in the ITN Grading process. This is explained in the document “Entering

Results”.

My Profile

The profile panel shows all the information about your account. It consists of five discrete elements of

information that you can add, delete or change. Apart from you, this information is held securely and is

only available to authorised officials such as club personnel who administer membership information or

authorised officials managing the ITN Grading process.

Duplicate profiles The creation of duplicates records is a natural by-product of the loading process. It can occur following a

club submitting its members to the National Player Database where a player is a member of another

club or had registered directly with Tennis Ireland using the on-line facility.

Facilities are in place to merge account details and results so that a unique account and TI PIN is

produced. This task is normally completed by the membership secretary of your club and he/she should

be the first person to contact.

Other authorized officials such as Tournament Directors, Club Coaches, Provincial Branch and Tennis

Ireland personnel can also assist.

Alternatively, send an email to [email protected] requesting assistance.

What is a QR code?

A QR code looks like this:

A QR Code (it stands for "Quick Response") is a smart phone or iPad (tablet) readable bar code that can

store website URL's, plain text, phone numbers, email addresses and pretty much any other

alphanumeric data.

Storing up to 4296 characters they are internationally standardised under ISO 18004, so a QR code is a

QR code all over the world - they've been big in Japan forever, broke into Europe and the UK a few years

back, and are now getting real traction in USA.

Think "print-based hypertext links" and you'll get the idea.

Install the free app “Qrafter” to scan QR Codes if you have an iPhone or iPad and use the free “i-nigma”

bar-code reader for Android phones or tablets.

To use the app, target the QR code using the phone camera and the associated web page will open

automatically.

Tennis Ireland will use more QR codes on its publications to allow smart-phone and tablet users faster

access to relevant web pages.
