HISTORY In Sicily, an island with a long-standing wine growing tradition, there are the Tenute Orestiadi’s vineyard, founded in Gibellina by a wine growers cooperative and the Orestiadi Foundation, one of the most important cultural institutions in the Mediterra- nean region, to promote the identity of Sicilian indigenous grapes through the union of art and wine. Tenute Orestiadi is an ancient name that evokes distant myths and legends, that in facts in Sicily has found life thanks to Aeschylus, that more than twenty centuries ago wrote and brought to the stage the legend of ORESTES and the ORESTIADI. THE GRAPES Perricone, Sicilian indigenous grape, is picked by hand in small boxes at the first week of September. The grapes are hauled in small containers and are gently stemmed to better preserve the integrity of the grape skin. Fermentation occurs at a controlled temperature, between 24º and 26º C. The wine ageing in bottle for 1 year before being released to the market.. THE WINE Wine with deep purple color with an incredible aromatic bouquet of red berries mixed with hints of black pepper and Mediterranean spices. Perricone on the palate is soft and elegant with dense fruity sensations of wild berries. The finish is sumptuous and persistent . The evolution in the bottle reserve surprising notes of licorice.
