I value the tight-knit Tepper community the most. The Online Hybrid cohort is uniquely small but also incredibly diverse. I love developing connections and learning from peers with such different backgrounds. Mackenzie Hammel, MBA ’18Senior Financial AnalystProcter & Gamble

Uncommon skills. You’re excellent at what you do. You have the drive to achieve your potential, a curiosity about the unknown and a limited attachment to comfort zones. We call that a “good start.”

But you also realize the need to back up your decisions with more than a gut feeling and the need to strengthen your leadership skills in order to get things done. That’s what makes you the Tepper type.

Tepper MBAs possess an unrivaled advantage honed through our renowned approach to leadership development alongside advanced analytics. It’s an approach that prepares our graduates to make better business decisions and maximizes leadership skills for successful implementation of those decisions across the organization — all of which you can fit into your busy schedule without walking away from a job you do exceptionally well.

That’s why the name “Tepper” means more in the market — and why a Tepper MBA gives you the uncommon skills that allow you to stand apart.

Tepper MBAs teamed with CMU colleagues from the School of Design, the College of Engineering and the Innovation Institute to compete in the SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition. Ours was one of only 30 teams accepted from more than 1,500 applicants, placing 8th in this global competition. cmuhyperloop.com 3

Bob Monroe, associate teaching professor of business technologies, delivers his class via one of the Tepper School’s online education studios. During class, you will see and interact with your professors and classmates, and they will do the same with you. Just as with a traditional classroom, the live learning experience is an informative, engaging exchange between students and professors.

There’s only one. Our online MBA program is unique because all content is taught by our renowned faculty and weekly online class sessions are augmented by in-person Access Weekends. This combination makes the Tepper Online MBA different from the rest. Every week, you’ll take live online classes where you’ll see and interactwith your professors and peers. Offline, you’ll work at your own paceand within your busy schedule. Your online and offline content aretaught by the same person, a faculty member who also teaches the course in the full-time program, so you are never short-changed on quality in the coursework. In addition, at the end of every mini-semester (about every six weeks)you’ll join your cohort for in-person classes, giving you the opportunityto connect with your cohort and faculty. So, no matter whereyou are, you’ll get the best of both worlds — the camaraderie of theclassroom and the convenience of learning from home.

Stand together. No matter which format you choose, the Tepper School provides the opportunity to be surrounded by some of the sharpest, most talented people you’ll ever meet. For the Online MBA program, that is enhanced during Access Weekends held in Pittsburgh, Silicon Valley, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., in between each mini-semester (six times per year).

During an Access Weekend, you’ll wrap up current classes and start the upcoming mini-semester coursework in person with faculty who know you by name, alongside your fellow students who will motivate and elevate your thinking. You start and end all your classes together, giving you the opportunity to make those connections you will need to be successful during the semester.

Access Weekends also include more than academics. You’ll visit companies and hear from speakers related to the industries you are studying, and participate in social events with Tepper MBAs in the full-time and part-time on-campus programs. You’ll also meet and network with Tepper School alumni who will be ready to share their expertise — not to mention their advice and networking contacts for career opportunities.

Dive deeper and emerge above the rest. Our curriculum develops leadership with an elevated analytics skill set. That’s because we know that this combination is highly sought-after in the marketplace.

Optimization, predictive and prescriptive modeling, and a deep economic understanding are among the analytical tools all of our students master. With a firm command of analytics, you’ll possess unmatched problem-solving abilities that enable you to identify optimal solutions.

At the same time, you’ll build the leadership skills to put those strategies in motion. Our Accelerate Leadership Center provides expertise and training from coaches, instructors and mentors who are your partners for one-on-one assessment, development, planning and implementation.

That’s not something you’ll find at other programs. And neither is this: You’ll learn these skills from the same faculty who teach our full-time students — not adjuncts. And you’ll learn them after business hours, with time slots set for both the east and west coast. So even if you’re traveling, you won’t be late for class.
