Summertime is here at last! Flowers are blooming, grass is green and the birds are chirping. Do you have summer plans? I hope they include traveling with some Club members on a Solo Exclusive or Solo Friendly AAA trip. There are plenty to pick from. Just take a look inside this issue.
Mary Beth just got back from our Monuments, Memorials and Embassies trip with 17 club members. They had a wonderful time getting to know each other and visiting places like the Ireland and Romanian embassies in Washington DC.
If you weren’t at our May meeting you missed a special presentation by Celebrity Cruise Line. They cruise the world in style. We were given a sneak peek of their soon-to-be newest ship, the Edge.
Solo Travelers Club renewals have been coming in all month. The 2017-2018 Club membership offers four standard club meetings a year – May, September, January and March. Basic members pay as you attend meetings and Rewards members have the cost included as one of their Rewards benefits. Additionally we have included two special events to celebrate the summer and the holidays. Our Summer Celebration this year is highlighted with a Mystery Trip exclusively for Solo Club members. Join us and find out the secret destination and adventure that awaits you.

Teriyaki Pineapple Turkey Burgers from DOLE®
INGREDIENTS:• 1/8 (20 ounce) can DOLE(R) Pineapple Slices • 1 tablespoon teriyaki sauce • 1/4 pound ground turkey or chicken • 1/8 teaspoon grated fresh ginger • 1 tablespoon panko bread crumbs • 1 whole grain hamburger buns • 1 slice cheddar or monterey jack cheese
DIRECTIONS:
1. Drain pineapple; reserve 1/2 cup juice. Reserve 2 pineapple slices for snack or other use.
2. Stir together teriyaki sauce and reserved pineapple juice in small bowl.
3. Mix together turkey, ginger, bread crumbs and 1/4 cup teriyaki mixture. Shape into 8 patties.
4. Grill patties, brushing with remaining teriyaki mixture, until brown and cooked through. Place pineapple slices on grill and cook until lightly golden brown.
5. Serve burgers on buns with cheese and pineapple.
