School Fundraising Dinner On Saturday 11th August Clare Primary School’s fundraising committee are holding a Fundraising Dinner at the Clare Racecourse. This is always a great event with a cocktail meal and live band Clearway from Adelaide. It would be wonderful to have as many parents, friends and relatives attend as possible. Tickets are selling at the early bird rate of $40 per head until the end of Term 2 and are available in the Front Office. Put this date in your diary and gather a crowd. The fundraising committee do a wonderful job and have funded the purchase of the team shades, school BBQ, cubbyhouse in the playground, and put money towards our grounds development. Please support this event. Sports Success Congratulations to Cody Harold and Tommy Lucas who have made the State Swim Team. Both boys will be competing in Hobart in the National Championships in July. Congratulations to Esther Head who made the District Softball team and competed in Adelaide at the end of last term. The Mid North District team came second, an amazing effort. Congratulations to the 21 runners who braved the cold conditions in Burra last Friday to compete in the District Cross Country event. A number of students have made the district team to compete in Adelaide later this term. A full report of the day is elsewhere in the newsletter. Lunchtime Clubs This term a number of new clubs have started for students at lunchtimes. These include

Garden Club – Tania Rosenzweig Origami Club – Tania Rosenzweig Puzzle and Games Club – Rohan Higgins BeyBlades – Connor Symons Table Tennis – Mark Vincent

Clubs are part of our focus of building engagement at the school, following areas of interest, giving new opportunities and fun activities for students during lunchtimes. Thanks to the staff who are running clubs this term. DOJO Rewards This term we will continue to use DOJO Points to reward attendance, positive behaviour and work habits. Greg has worked with Care Group Leaders to develop DOJO Rewards. Once a child reaches a certain number of points, they get the following rewards:

50 Points – 15 minutes extra play after lunch on Friday 100 Points – use of the computers in the library for a week or a movie in library with popcorn 150 points – Gym session Friday at lunchtime or a craft activity with Di 200 points – an hour at the skate park or the playground 300 points – Sevenhill Playground 400 points – Subway lunch 500 points – Principal for the Day

Last Friday a large number of our students had an extra 15 minutes play as a reward for receiving 50 points. Stu-dents are all very motivated to achieve these goals. I wonder if anyone will reach the top reward and become Principal for the Day!

CROSSING MONITORS TERM 2

Hi Everyone,

Breakfast club is running again and can be found in the room at the top of the

stairs behind the hall. It runs each day from 8:30am until classes start. Everyone

is welcome if your child/ren are unable to have Breakfast at home. NOTE: We

do ask that you please encourage them to come as soon as they arrive at school

to allow their teacher to begin their day. Cooking stops 9:50am everyday. We

serve toast, spaghetti/baked beans, fruit (when available) and cereal. We would

greatly appreciate donations of fruit, veg or milk thanks!

Also, as a Pastoral Care Worker, I am happy to help in any way to make your

school life a little easier so please come and chat with me or leave a message at the office and I will get back to

you. Part of that role at school is to help out in classes and chat with individual students if they need to. Of course

for any ongoing chats I can only continue to visit your child if you have given permission upon your enrolment

(chaplain box). If you are not sure about this ‘box’ on the enrolment form please have a chat with me or Front Of-

fice Staff for clarification. This is a support role for your child.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO THESE STUDENTS FOR WEEKS 3&4:
